Our top 5 most viewed Video Game Masters episodes

By Mark Rodriguez

As most of you would know, I review videos games with my bro Johnny Rodriguez and several friends throughout the years on a Youtube show called Video Game Masters. Our show is a mix between current games and classic games, basically whatever grabs our attention. We mostly do fighting games and beat-em-ups, but once in a while we cover other random stuff like FNAF, Lollipop Chainsaw and DBZ Battle of Z. We're getting close to episode 100 so let's look back and see what were the top 5 most viewed episodes so far. Mind you, we're not superstars or big time Youtubers by any means, but we've had fun reviewing these games and sometimes looking back and playing our old favorites.

# 1- Video Game Masters Episode 38- The King of Fighters 2001, 2002 and 2003
1,646 views

In this episode Johnny takes over, with help from Angel and Rakiarmas as he covers these 3 KOF games. The main problem is that KOF 2001 sucked pretty back in comparison to the other two, so Johnny didn't have much have fun having to play and cover it, lol.

# 2- Video Game Masters Episode 12- Dragonball GT Final Bout & Ultimate Battle 22
1,067 views

This is one of the classic episodes when we were still living in Mexico. Johnny and I cover the 2 Playstation DBZ games that made it to the states. The third game, DBZ Legends was never brought over, most likely due to all the dialogue they would have had to translate. The funny part was how insanely high GT Final Bout was going on ebay until DBZ games became the norm and the rarity of it went way down.

# 3- Video Game Masters Episode 29- The King of Fighters 99 and 2000
641 views

Mark, Johnny and Rakiarmas cover KOF 99 and 2000. I remember how long it took me to finally get myself a copy of KOF 99 for the Playstation. It was good, and I did love KOF 99 in the arcades but it suffered from the load times that the console had for games with teams. It seems an arcade version of KOF 99 still isn't available on the Playstation Network, but it might be on X-Box Live for the X-Box One.

# 4- Video Game Masters Episode 11- DBZ Hyper Dimension & DBZ Super Goku Den Kakusei Hen
551 views

This was another classic ep when we were still in Mexico. Thanks to a Super Famicom/SNES adapter we were able to review 2 Japanese DBZ games. We played the absolute hell out of DBZ Hyper Dimension back in the day. It was awesome. Also this was back when I was shaving myself bald to cosplay as Krillin. While my outfits have changed, Johnny is still cosplaying as Android 17 to this day.

# 5- Video Game Masters Episode 4- TMNT Smash-Up for the PS2
386 views

This was another ep when we were in Mexico and our first 'current game' review instead of an old classic. The game was fun for what it was, but the biggest thing it had going against it was that the game was meant to represent the TMNT's 30 year anniversary and the roster was going to be a mix of all incarnations.... but all we got were the 2007 Movie TMNT and the 2003 TMNT. The closest thing we got was a stage that had the 80's Technodrome in it... but that was only on the Wii version. And then the Wii version wasted the limited roster slots they had with Rabbids and.... well just watch the review.

Looking back

Heh, it looks like the episodes regarding DBZ and KOF got the most views. The latest DBZ game we covered was DBFighterZ, but we might cover some others eventually. We did cover almost every KOF game except for KOF 14 and we will eventually get there. And yes, looking back a lot of our episodes cover KOF, DBZ and TMNT games, with Street Fighter as well. In fact our first episode was looking back at the Genesis version of Super Street Fighter 2, which we no longer own. Who knows what we'll cover next. As of now we're working on VGM episode 87.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
