Batman Dark Patterns # 3

By Mark Rodriguez Batman has found and taken down the Wound Man, a man that tortures people to death because he can't feel pain himself. Now Batman is after the people that created him, and possibly others similar to like him. His  investigation takes him to the town of Green Fields. What will happen now? We flashback to the Wound Man torturing Francis Oakley, as the lawyer is tied to a chair with spikes impaling all over his body. Francis begs him to stop since he's in horrible pain. The Wound man asks him to describe it since he can barely remember what pain feels like thanks to him. Francis says he's just the lawyer. The Wound Man says he had the cease and desists and gag orders that contained what was done to him. He says Francis let this happen to him.  Francis says every file in his cabinet is full of human misery and misfortune. He says it's not his fault and he doesn't deserve this. Batman Dark Patterns # 2

 By Mark Rodriguez There is a serial killer loose in Gotham torturing people to death. Batman discovered the culprit to be who he calls the 'Wound Man'. Wound Man is covered in sharp objects set to mortally wound him if Batman were to lay a finger on him, yet he can't feel pain. After the killer escaped during their first encounter, Batman tries to figure out where he will strike next.   "We Are The Wounded" Part 2 opens with Batman showing Gordon the images of the Wounded Man. Batman doesn't know who he is, but he knows where he will strike next. Gordon says if there's a list, all of them would have to be placed on protective custody. Batman says that will prevent them from knowing what the Wound Man would do. They need to draw him out while they can still predict his actions. Gordon says Dr. Sereika is examining is examining the bodies at the lab at his university and is sure he will find the clues to pinpoint the Wounded Man's identity. Batman does...

Batman Dark Patterns # 1

By Mark Rodriguez With this mini series we go back to a more basic Batman before he had all his fancy tech and years of crime fighting experience as he solves several incredible mysteries. There were previews for this one in several DC comics last month. I guess they did their job since I decided to pick it up. The story opens with Batman narrates that three kids were apprehended playing chicken with the train tracks in Central Station. The oldest was twelve, and they'll be most likely to try it again the following night. Two dozen kids have died playing this game since the station was built. Elsewhere, six dogs were re-released onto the streets of the Bowery. They were retrieved from the pound by locals claiming they were their pets. The dogs are vicious and run wild, killing cats and attacking people. The Bowery has always had problems with wild dogs. A building burns on Cherry Hill, which could be insurance fraud or some kids causing trouble. As Batman suits up, he states that t...
