It continues the story of Charlotte getting both a grip on her past as well as the events of the first book and tells a tale that completely goes in another direction of the games. The Twisted Ones starts a year after the last book with Charlie getting used to get college life. She is mostly racked with some sort of survivors guilt when her twin brother was killed instead of her by Afton in a Golden Bonnie suit when they were children. After several games in the horror series, it was only a matter of time before there would be some sort of outside media besides the games. Cawthon caught his fans off guard with his announcement of a book based on the series, this time with a much more human element. This was the first cover before they decided to change it to match the cover style of the next 2 books. I was lucky enough to order this one online shortly after it was first released. I honestly forgot what was the first studio he was trying to work with, but after some time it was announced that it fell through and it was back to the drawing board. Then some time ago he announced Blumhouse productions, the guys behind Get Out, would be the ones working on the movie now, which some have praised because they have done decent horror films using practical effects.
