Masters of the Universe- Rise of the Snake Men # 3

By Mark Rodriguez Evil Lyn betrayed Skeletor to help Kobra Khan and Rattlor release the Snake Men. The Snake Men easily take down Skeletor's forces. He-Man finds out that Zodac let this happen on purpose so he could get a chance to avenge his brother's death at the hands of King Hsss. As He-Man and Zodac fight each other, they see that an army of Snake Men is marching out of Snake Mountain! He-Man and Zodac see the army march onwards. He-Men tells Zodac that he can't take them all on his own and has nothing to prove in trying to. He offers their help and promises to leave King Hsss to Zodac. Zodac says they have little time and the Snake Men can be very resilient.  Man-At-Arms, Teela, Stratos and Mek-A-Nek see the army and estimate that there are thousands of them and will be in Eternos in a few days. Zodac arrives and says they're actually headed towards Castle Grayskull and King Hsss can affect their speed and stamina. Man-At-Arms and Teela are understandably angry s...

Masters of the Universe- Rise of the Snake Men # 2

By Mark Rodriguez Despite He-Man and Zodac sealing away the Snake Men, Evil Lyn has betrayed Skeletor to help Kobra Khan and Rattlor bring them back. They go to attack Zodac and steal his staff. The Masters go to warn Skeletor but are attacked by his forces. As they fight, Kobra Khan and Rattlor sneak into Snake Mountain and break the seal to The Void with Zodac's staff, releasing King Hsss and his minions.  Man-At-Arms tells Skeletor that they had come looking for his help. He explains that somehow The Void will be broken and the Snake Men will return. Skeletor doesn't believe them and Evil Lyn comes in, telling them that breaking the seal for The Void is impossible. Skeletor tells Evil Lyn that she took her time to get there. She says she was busy. Skeletor tells her she should make better use of her time. He then directs his attention back to the Masters, telling them that he will finish them off.  Just then He-Man runs in, breaking through Skeletor's forces. Skeletor...

Masters of the Universe- Rise of the Snake Men # 1

By Mark Rodriguez While the Snake Men came out too late in the toyline to make a proper appearance in the original He-Man and She-Ra shows in the 80's, the 2002 remake made sure to give the Snake Men a bigger introduction. The second season of the series would get renamed Master of the Universe VS The Snake Men and He-Man would even get new Snake Armor designed to help him fight this new threat. There was a three-issue mini series based on the first 2 episodes, so let's check them out.  Rise of the Snake Men part 1 opens with the tale of The Void, a secret prison deep within Snake Mountain that contained The Snake Men, a race of warriors that ruled Eternia years ago. Kobra Kahn learned of his ancestors and tried to set them free. The combined forces of He-Man and Zodac prevented that from happening and sealed the void, hoping to have prevented the Snake Men from escaping.  The Sorceress wakes up, having a nightmare of the Snake Men returning and destroying Castle Graysk...

Masters of the Universe- Power of Fear (Dream Halloween 2003)

By Mark Rodriguez The year 2002 brought us the first major remake of the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe franchise. He-Man led the Masters against the evil forces of Skeletor until the second season brought in the Snake Men. There was a comic series based on the new show, however they were severely limited in what they could do. One stipulation was that they couldn't use new characters not shown on the show. Somehow they got around that for a one-time special and made a comic based on Scare Glow. Let's check it out. Skeletor is berating his minions, Evil Lyn, Beast Man, Tri Klops and Stinkor.  He asks them why He-Man seems to show up everywhere he goes. Beast Man says maybe it's because he outsmarts him and Skeletor blasts him with his Havoc Staff. He tells them this is because he commands a bunch of fools that couldn't stop He-Men if they found him unconscious. He says he doesn't need to rely on them as he summons a flying device towards him. Skeletor expla...
