Jujutsu Kaisen Vol 1 Chapter 1 review

By Mark Rodriguez Seems this is one of the newest anime making the rounds, and from the looks of it the characters look pretty cool. Seeing the main character with a mouth on his hand gave me that 'Parasyte' vibe (another series I intend to review) so I got curious enough to check it out. Let's take a look.  Chapter 1- Ryomen Sukuna The chapter opens with Report June 2018 in the Sugigawa Municipal High School #3 Sedai City, Miyagi Prefecture. We see someone being sent to investigate a thermometer shed for a 'Special Grade Cursed Item'. The shed is empty and the person threatens to punch the person who sent him for wasting his time. At the school in the Occult Research Club, Yuji Itadori, Iguchi and Sasaki ask the spirits which animal is weaker than their student council president. They run their fingers through the occult board and the answer is a fish, which makes the crew laugh. Just then the student council president rushes in and Yuji says he really is a worm.

Dragonball Super manga Volume 5 (Chapter 27)

By Mark Rodriguez The epic battle against Zamas has come to an end as Zeno Sama wipes out the entire timeline that was corrupted by him. Now Trunks and Mai will live in a new alternate timeline alongside the Trunks and Mai of that timeline. Life returns to normal, but there is still that matter of that big martial arts tournament that Zeno promised Goku.  Chapter 27- Life, Training and More The story opens on Earth and everyone goes about their lives, completely unaware of all the trouble Zamas caused in an alternate timeline. Goku sells his crops and gets back into his air truck to drive back home. The villagers see him drive by and comment on how rare it is to see the latest model air truck in their 'backwater town'. Suddenly Goku sees some people with their vehicle overturned and about to fall off the edge of a cliff. He asks if they need help. The guy asks for a lift to the station and Goku agrees. Two other guys are hiding with guns and they notice the fancy air truck. Th

Agents of SHIELD Episode Three- Retro Review

By Mark Rodriguez Originally written on October 8, 2013. Keep in mind these reviews were done way back when the show first aired, so we had no idea what future events or movies would bring. Also, before it was retconned away, at least at the moment, the Agents of SHIELD show was in canon with the movies. After the Avengers saved New York from an alien invasion, the world at large knew about superheroes and bizarre futuristic technology that could be powerful in the wrong hands. Agent Coulson is somehow brought back from the dead to lead a team of random SHIELD agents to deal with these strange cases. This particular episode deals a lot with Skye, her commitment to the team and her questionable loyalty. The episode opens with a big rig being escorted by SHIELD vehicles. Suddenly the cars are sent flying by some unseen force. It was even able to lift up the big rig and send it flying. A bunch of troops bust inside and take the truck's precious cargo, a scientist. Meanwhile,

NickToons TMNT Episode 4- New Friend, Old Enemy

By Mark Rodriguez with thoughts from Johnny Rodriguez Originally written on October 9, 2012. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way or knowing what to expect. The episode begins somewhere in the city as a ninja master is sparring with The Foot. Shredder suddenly arrives and the man assures him that he has made an army of ninjas in the city. Shredder tells him that his old enemy Hamato Yoshi is still alive, and is training ninjas of his own. The man swears to find them, but Shredder insists that he works with a street thug named Xever that knows the city’s underworld. The man doesn’t get along with Xever, but Shredder doesn’t give a damn. They MUST work together under his orders to destroy Hamato Yoshi. The Turtles are jumping across rooftops, having a contest of who does the most impressive flips. Mikey finds a cat and soon sees it

Agents of SHIELD episode Two - Retro Review

By Mark Rodriguez This was originally written on October 2, 2013. Keep in mind these reviews were done way back when the show first aired, so we had no idea what future events or movies would bring. Also, before it was retconned away, at least at the moment, the Agents of SHIELD show was in canon with the movies. For those that missed the last episode, this show brings back Agent Phil Coulson from the dead, to lead a new team of SHIELD agents to deal with super powered humans that started appearing after the events of the Avengers movie and Iron Man 3. The last episode ended with Coulson being advised that an O8-7 was found... which is some kind of object found that is completely unknown. The trailers also promised a surprise cameo after the credits. The episode starts with the crew on a plane, when suddenly a hole is blasted out of it and Phil is hanging on for dear life. We go back 19 hours earlier as everyone is getting ready for the flight to Peru to find the O8-7. They're uns

NickToons TMNT Episode 3 Turtle Temper

By Mark Rodriguez with Thoughts from Johnny Rodriguez Originally written on October 9, 2012. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way or knowing what to expect. ‘Turtle Temper’ begins with the Turtles staking out from a rooftop to a place they heard from April that The Kraang might hit next. However, a loud-mouthed fat guy living in the apartment below catches sight of the Turtles. Insults start flying between Raph and the guy, and this grabs the attention of The Kraang who start attacking them. During the fight, Vic (as the guy is named in the credits) gets some footage of the Turtles fighting The Kraang with his cellphone. After the fight is over, Raph tries to get the phone away from Vic, but the guy gets away. With sirens in the background already sounding off, the Turtles have to get away. Later in the sewers, Splinter tells Rap

Agents of SHIELD Episode One Retro-Review

By Mark Rodriguez A lot has changed with the MCU since its inception, starting off with the first Iron Man movie way back in 2008. It's pretty safe to say it just hasn't been the same since End Game, and most of the memorable moments and quotable lines are still from the days of Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr and the rest. Sometime after the movie's success their first TV show was released named Agents of SHIELD, which reveals that Agent Coulson somehow survived the events of the first Avengers movie and now leads a new crew to solve smaller time issues within the MCU.  Here's a look back at what we thought when we first saw the series. Keep in mind these reviews were done way back when the show first aired, so we had no idea what future events or movies would bring. Also, before it was retconned away, at least at the moment, the Agents of SHIELD show was in canon with the movies. Agents of SHIELD starts off a few months or so after the huge alien invasion in New York i
