The Amazing Spider-Man # 5 (2018)

By Mark Rodriguez Due to an accident with the Isotope Genome Accelerator Peter Parker and Spider-Man are now two different people. While Peter lives a normal life without super powers, Spider-Man is using his power recklessly and doing this for the fame. However, Dr. Connors discovered that the mice he tested the device on, eventually die since the two halves do need each other. Parker needs to get Spider-Man before they both die as well. Back to Basics part 5 begins with Parker finally telling Mary Jane the situation. She says a life with just Peter and no Spider-Man would be good, but it wouldn't be him. The fact he's a hero that leaps into danger because it's the right thing to do is what pushes her away but also keeps bringing her back. Currently, Peter Parker is lying on the ground, bloodied up as he remembers how he got to this point. Peter thinks one problem he has, is no access to the Accelerator due it being under lock and key, but also because he has no way to ex...

The Amazing Spider-Man # 4 (2018)

By Mark Rodriguez While fighting Taskmaster and Black Ant, Peter Parker was accidentally hit by a beam fired by the same Isotope Genome Accelerator device that radiated the spider that bit him years go. It was set to help Connors hopefully remove the Lizard from his being, and thus this beam separated Parker and Spider-Man into two different people. Peter is now a normal human without his powers and can finally live a normal life, while Spider-Man can go out and fight bad guys. However some of Connors' testing proves the split between skills, training and other things might even include one's own moral compass, so Pete worries that this Spider-Man might be all Power, no Responsibility. Back to Basics Part 4 opens with a hunter running from something and tripping and falling. Elsewhere the man behind the Tri-Sentinel is not happy with how Spider-Man is taking it down. This wanted to take advantage of Osborn being taken out of the picture for his own plans and sees them falling ...

The Amazing Spider-Man # 3 (2018)

By Mark Rodriguez Peter Parker has fallen out of favor  with his family and friends when it was discovered he really didn't earn his doctorate and had it revoked. Since MJ always had his back, they both became a couple. He was given another chance to earn it by attending class with Dr. Connors who has his Lizard transformation under control thanks to an inhibitor. Taskmaster and Black Ant attack the class, hoping to steal the same device that created the radioactive spider that once bit Pete, and Pete is quick to create a chemical smokescreen to cause a distraction. Spider-Man shows up to stop the bad guys... as Peter Parker is still there watching on... Back to Basics Part 3 begins with some hunters celebrating as they shot an elephant. Their victory is short lived as one of them is stabbed by a knife thrown right at his chest. Meanwhile Pete, MJ and Robertson are out bowling and having fun. Just then an old friend of theirs,, Norah Winters, who was also fired from the Bugle befo...

The Amazing Spider-Man # 1 (2018)

By Mark Rodriguez Spider-Man has an all-new series as Peter Parker's adventures continue. Sometimes after stopping a crime by The Boomerang, he now finds out he has The Boomerang, in his civilian form as his new roommate! The issue starts with a pleasant memory of Peter Parker holding onto Mary Jane, in his black suit Spider-Man outfit on top of a skyscraper. He is awakenedd from this dream by his noisy roommate Fred Myers playing Call of Duty: Latveria at 5AM at full blast. Pete is currently rooming with both him and Randy Robertson, and he explains that Myers is actually Boomerang. Spidey recently stopped a museum robbery and whatever Boomerang took, was something Kingpin was interested in. Spidey had to let Boomerang go, but now that he's a roommate under his civilian name, he can try to find out what he was up to. Randy asks Pete why he's mad if he had to be up early anyways for a press conference at the E.S.U. that Tuesday morning. Peter forgot it was Tuesday since he ...

Free Comic Book Day 2018- The Amazing Spider-Man

By Mark Rodriguez I think it's safe to say that for many people, Spider-Man is their favorite Marvel superhero, just like Batman is the favorite DC superhero for most. Both are parts of superhero teams but are awesome as solo heroes, and both have the most memorable villains. Spider-Man's changed a lot over the years, between clones, between Dock Ock taking his body for a year, to co-existing with Miles Morales, the Spider-Man from an alternate universe. I wonder what's happening to him in 2018 in this Free Comic Book Day story. The comic opens with Spider-Man swinging throughout the city, remarking that while he did become Spider-Man due to getting bitten by a radioactive spider, the tragedy of the loss of uncle Ben and the feeling to do what's right... he also does it to have the wonderful view above the city. Something he can't afford as Peter Parker. When I first saw 'The Views', I thought that was some kind of YouTube reference We see Parker looking for...
