 By Mark Rodriguez Guile, Cammy and Alex team up to rescue Chun Li from Vega, but are surrounded by Twelves. Meanwhile Ryu seeks guidance from Retsu based on what he thinks Gouken would have said. Instead, Retsu introduces him to Gouken himself. Ryu, thinking someone has dishonored his master's name, jumps in to attack! Ryu attacks Gokuen, who blocks his ever move saying it's impossible that he's still alive since he held his dead body and burned his ashes himself. Gouken says he has to search his heart for the truth and defeats him in battle. Guile, Chun Li and Cammy all fight against the Twelves but find themselves horribly outnumbered. Cammy manages to break one's arm, but it merely fixes it as if nothing happened. Alex fights one of the Twelves, and accidentally leaves himself open for attack. Instead of finishing him off, the Twelve stops and turns to leave. Alex takes offense to that and grabs him for a suplex. The Twelve crumbles into ash. Cammy, Chun Li and Guil...

 By Mark Rodriguez Ryu is training to deal with the darkness within himself. Chun Li has been abducted and Ken teams up with Guile and Cammy to see what Balrog knows about this. After a fight, the boxer tells them that Vega might know. Ken lets Guile and Cammy use his jet to get to him and they have someone in mind to help them out. Meanwhile Gill has a device he wants to use to form his new world, and he wants to use the power of the Dark Hado to power it. Now what will happen? The story opens with Chun Li sneaking into a building and trying to get information from a computer. Vega arrives and Chun Li asks him if Bison is still alive. After a quick fight, Chun Li pins Vega down and cuffs him, but is suddenly struck from behind. As Chun Li hits the floor, face first, she sees what looks like two Vegas before she passes out. Chun Li wakes up, now dressed in her Street Fighter 4 black dress, and Vega is now wearing Bison's shoulder pads and cape. He says he now runs Shadaloo in...

Following a battle against Oni Akuma and Gill in which Bison was killed and Ryu succumbed to his Evil Form, Ryu is now battling with the darkness within. He trains a bit with Sagat but Ken advises him to seek the one that knew their master almost as well as he knew himself. Elsewhere, Chun Li has been captured by Vega! Now what will happen? The story opens with Gill and his followers as he monologues about the beginning of the universe and the imperfection of man. As he speaks several meteors are headed straight to Earth. Gill says the prophecies have declared him to be the world's savior and he destroys the meteor into pebbles. The cult followers of the Secret Society hail their Lord Gill. These meteors were most likely summoned by one of Gill's super moves to display some of his power. Guile talks to Cammy about Chun Li's disappearance just as they both had information about Shadaloo to share with...

By Mark Rodriguez Back in 2016, Udon went for another longer-than-usual running series which would bridge the gap between the events of Street Fighter 4 and 3 (that's how the series works lore-wise). Keep in mind this was all before Street Fighter 5 was announced, which would sandwich itself between Street Fighter 4 and 3. Let's check it out. The story opens with Ryu visiting Gouken's grave as he asks him how he can defeat something he can't defeat with his fists, his own inner darkness, the Satsui no Hado. This was first felt within him when he was about to lose against Sagat in the first Street Fighter tournament, which led him to unleash the infamous Shoryuken that left the Thai champ with his scar. He felt it stir again when he first discovered that Akuma had killed his master Gouken. Even though he tried to calm that dark power, Ryu would eventually succumb to it and face Akuma.
