Mark's Epic Blog of Randomness

By Mark Rodriguez AEW has been collabing with DC Comics for a while. Other than this comic and hoodies with art from this comics, the wrestling organization has also been advertising DC's latest All In event. They even have images of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman on the ring apron for the last few weeks. We found this comic while searching for Trick or Read things, so let's check it out.  The book is separate into mini-stories of each wrestler. Swerve Strickland- Swerve was born to fight, so he joined the army. Unfortunately the Sergeant wanted off the book mercenaries, so Swerve left. Swerve went to fight in the underground and then in the arena. He would later return, now as the champ alongside Prince Nana, to face the Sergeant once again. The Sarge is ready for a fight and saying Swerve is too good to get his hands dirty. Swerve is too fast and hits him with a flying stomp. Swerve says his hands are dirty as hell, but with sweat, tears... and blood. Toni Storm- Toni gr...

By Mark Rodriguez This episode has Madison Rayne getting some in-ring action, and surprisingly, even Britt Baker DMD gets a match. This match in particular ended up affecting an upcoming match on AEW Dynamite. Match 1- Britt Baker vs Billie Starkz Both women grapple and Britt gets Billie in a headlock takedown and attempts a pin. Billie is able to escape. Britt goes for a second pin attempt that Billie kicks out of. The DMD then goes for a lateral press and another pin, but she still can't keep her down.  Billie grabs Britt and flips her upside down, but before she can do anything, Britt takes her down for another pin. This time Billie reverses for a pin of her own and Britt barely kicks out in time. Billie reaches out for a handshake and Britt agrees to it. As Britt pulls away, Billie doesn't let go and pulls her back in. Britt socks her with a forearm strike. Britt grabs her and hits her several times and then knocks her down with a running slingblade. She goes for the...

By Mark Rodriguez We get two cool matches this time as we see Skye Blue and Emi Sakura in action. We also see more of the current beef between Athena and Yuka Sakazaki. First Match- Skye Blue vs Zoe Dubois Both women grapple and Skye sends Zoe rolling along the mat. Zoe goes for a swing but Skye grabs her arm and gets her in an armdrag takeover. Skye runs towards the ropes, and flips over to the apron to avoid Zoe's strike. She then elbows her in the face. Skye climbs the ropes but Zoe tugs on them, making her stumble. With Skye dazed and up against the ropes, Zoe runs over and hits her with a high boot to the face. Zoe grabs her and hits her with an uppercut. Zoe hits Skye with a second uppercut and then gets into three consecutive rolling suplexes. She goes for the cover, but Skye is able to kick out. Zoe gets Skye up against the ropes and presses her boot up against her throat. As she does this, she leans back as if she was a swan. Zoe grabs onto Skye, but her opponent sta...

By Mark Rodriguez   This week we get two matches for Dark Elevation and one for Dark, so I'll put them in the same article. Emi Sakura joins Nyla and Marina once again, but we'll see how that goes with their current situation with Vickie Guerrero. We also see The Vipress return to Dark Elevation. Let's check it out.  Match 1- "The Native Beast" Nyla Rose, "The Problem" Marina Shafir & Emi Sakura w/ Vickie Guerrero vs Johnnie Robbie, Vipress & Zyra The match opens with Robbie facing off against Nyla. The Native Beast grabs Robbie and knees her in the midsection. She then swings her fist down upon her back. Nyla gets her in a headlock and drags her over to her corner where she tags in Emi. This surprises Marina who was expecting the tag.  Emi whips Robbie over to the ropes and hits her with a harsh chop to the chest. After delivering a second chop, she backs up and runs into her with the Flying Crossbody. Emi goes over to tag in Nyla, ignoring Mar...

By Mark Rodriguez So here we go with the first episode of Dark Elevation of 2023! We start things off by seeing Hikaru Shida, Julia Hart, Marina Shafir and the current Ring of Honor Women's Champion Athena in action. Match 1- Hikaru Shida vs Tyra Russamee  Hikaru is about to lock up with Tyra, but her opponent holds her hand out to stop her. She raises her hand for a test of strength and Shida does the same, but there is a considerable height difference. Tyra takes this chance that Shida's distracted and stomps on her foot. Tyra starts firing off forearm shots to Hikaru's face and reels back for a kick. The former AEW Women's Champ catches her foot and gets her in a fireman's carry. Tyra slips from her grasp and gets her in a waist lock. Shida backs her into the ringpost and lands a slap across the face. Shida climbs the rope to hit Tyra with the ten punches, but Tyra slips out of the way and hits her from behind. Tyra runs at Shida but takes a boot to the face. St...

By Mark Rodriguez Well this was a surprising edition of AEW Elevation. We actually get five women's matches this time. It was pretty much a women's wrestling episode. We get to see a lot of familiar faces this week such as Ruby Soho, Julia Hart and Nyla Rose. We also get to see a little more of Vertvixen and Madi Wrenkowski. Let's check it out. Match 1- Leva Bates and Karizma VS Marina Shafir and Nyla Rose The match opens with the commentary noting that Vickie Guerrero isn't joining Nyla and Marina this time. Nyla starts the match and Karizma runs in to hit her while she's distracted. This doesn't work and Nyla kicks her back. Nyla kicks her down to her knees, then grabs onto her arm. Nyla kicks her on the back of the head, and then swings the same leg back, kicking her in the face and knocking her down. Nyla then hits her with a legdrop. Nyla grabs and runs with Karizma, bouncing her face off the top turnbuckle. She then slams her into the turnbuckle over on h...
