Avengers West Coast # 53 (Acts of Vengeance)

By Mark Rodriguez The Scarlet Witch learned that her children were never really real and were manifestations created by Mephisto. The Avengers dealt with Mephisto and Pandemonium, and Agatha wiped Wanda's memories of these children that never really existed, but other villains are plotting. The story continues during the Acts of Vengeance crossover. It was basically about the Marvel villains switching places with each other, forcing the heroes to fight against villains they're not used to. Let's see how it goes. The issue opens with Magneto and another person seeing how the Acts of Vengeance has begun. Magneto says he is using this plan to help his plans for mutantkind and has bigger goals than just defeating superheroes. As Magneto leaves, this man says the plan has just begun and he leaves to look in on what inspired his plan, the Avengers. The Avengers are concerned about Wanda who has become unresponsive since she collapsed in California. The heroes discuss a...

Avengers West Coast # 52

By Mark Rodriguez Iron Man returns to the Avengers West Coast but not everyone is happy to see him, and they're not sure if it really is Tony Stark under the armor. Meanwhile, the Scarlet Witch's children seem to vanish every time her mind is focused on something else, making people wonder if they ever real at all. The evil Master Pandemonium attacks the Avengers and after the fight, Wanda's children are missing once again. The heroes go into his lair and find the villain with the children fused with his arms! Now what will happen? The issue opens as the heroes look on in horror as Pandemonium claims he is unbeatable. Wonder Man holds Wanda back since her unpredictable powers might accidentally kill her children. Pandemonium channels his hellflames through one of the children and Wonder Man jumps in the way to save Wanda. Iron Man blasts him with repulsor rays powerful enough to level a city block and it does nothing to the villain. Pandemonium explains t...

Avengers West Coast # 51

By Mark Rodriguez I decided that with recent events, it would be a good time to dive into some of the first Marvel stories I got into when I decided to give them a try. I got into the Avengers, but rather than buying the main book, for whatever reason I used to collect Avengers Spotlight and Avengers West Coast. One story I got was one where Scarlet Witch suffered a meltdown and went after her fellow Avengers. I never saw how this story ended, but luckily thanks to trade paperbacks, I can go back in time and find out. Issue 51 opens with Iron Man making his return to action, but it seems Hank Pym, Wonder Man, the Wasp and the US Agent aren't too happy to see him. US Agent believes that this current Iron Man has killed Stark and is wearing the armor now, and heads off to call Washington to confirm this. Once he leaves, Hank says they know Stark is still alive and ask Iron Man if that's their old friend under the armor. Iron Man apologizes but says he can't say....
