By Mark Rodriguez Squirrel Girl is the teacher of the same class that Miss Marvel is a student in. An attack by AIM to try to capture a student named Ember made these two superheroines team up to stop them. Ember turned out to have super powers and discovered she can bring videogame characters to life to attack people that bully her. After another team up, Kamala is starting to grow suspicious of Doreen being a superheroine. Meanwhile, Ember goes down the dark path and decides to become the supervillain Emulator. The story begins with Squirrel Girl introducing Miss Marvel to her superhero buddies, consisting of Chipmunk Hunk, Brain Drain, Koi Boi and Nancy. Kamala's suspicions are even higher since Squirrel Girl is holding this meeting at Doreen's apartment of all places. Squirrel Girl tells the group of the recent video game attacks near the school. By Mark Rodriguez Marvel Rising brings in the new generation of Marvel heroes including Miss Marvel, Spider-Gwen and Quake together. In their first issue Squirrel Girl and Miss Marvel met for the first time and helped each other take down AIM agents. What they didn't know was that agents were after a fellow classmate named Ember Quade. This issue was a Father's Day issue (I guess, but it was released during the time frame) but I missed it, but I was able to pick up a copy a few weeks later. The comic opens with Ember in class beating other guys at a videogame. The guys she beat get mad at her and accuse her of cheating, throwing in all the 'girls shouldn't be playing games' junk in her face. They even check her computer for some hack or mod she might have used. She wonders how she got so good at the game and she seems to have the power to bring things out of the videogame world. By Mark Rodriguez A brand new superhero team will form with modern day Marvel characters like Captain Marvel, Spider-Gwen, Squirrel Girl and even Quake, AKA Daisy/Skye, popularly known from the Agents of SHIELD tv series (though she was in the comics too). There's an animated movie coming soon and I assume this free comic will help kick things off and get people excited. Let's have a look. The story opens with Kamala Khan (Miss Marvel) joining her class on a field trip through the Howard Anthony Stark Institute for Technical Excellence, with Doreen Green (Squirrel Girl) as their guide. As Doreen shows the class a computer from 1956, A.I.M agents storm the building. They are apparently supposed to be good guys now... but Kamala and Doreen both say that never lasts. The agents want to perform some kind of experiment on the kids, and Doreen and Kamala both make excuses to leave the group, leaving a blonde girl in charge.
