NXT October 31, 2018

By Mark Rodriguez Since the Mae Young Classic is over, I might as well check out NXT for a while and get caught up on the Superstars of tomorrow. Last time it was revealed that Johnny Gorgano was the mystery guy that attacked Alistair Black. Also, Shayna Baszler defeated Kairi Sane and regained the NXT Women's Championship on WWE Evolution. What will happen now? First Match- Nikki Cross VS Mercedes Martinez Nikki got Mercedes in an arm lock, but Mercedes was able to get out of it and toss her back. Nikki got on the ropes and kicked Mercedes in the face. This got Mercedes angry and she flat out grabbed Nikki's leg and yanked her down to the mat. With Nikki down, Mercedes stomped on her and got her in a Guillotine but the Twisted Sister was able to punch her way out. Nikki jumped off the ropes and planted Mercedes to the mat with a Crossbody but she still kicked out of the pin. Mercedes rocked Nikki with three Backdrop Drivers and a Running Knee to the face. She tried to

Black Panther VS Deadpool # 1

By Mark Rodriguez It seems Deadpool is always looking to mess with someone new. Now we have the 'Merc with a Mouth going up against the King of Wakanda. Let's see what happens. 'A Small Understanding' opens with T'Challa changing out of his gear and dressing more casual as he ponders what he went through to become king. Shuri comes to get him and they both head out as Wakanda celebrates Ubusuku Bokufa, their version of Day of the Dead. Shuri says T'Challa should enjoy himself but he would rather be in the lab and work on 'star cells' that could save many lives. Shuri says the people need to see the king once in a while. T'Challa runs into a child dressing as the Black Panther, and he gives her an American candy bar. The girl cries because she has nothing to give in return but the king says she has already given him everything. Deadpool cuts in wanting to get to his part of the story. He is reading a book while driving a school bus as The Wre

WWE Smackdown Live- October 30, 2018

By Mark Rodriguez Becky Lynch is still the Smackdown Champion and has finally kicked Charlotte to the curb. I can't wait to see what happens next. There's also a tag team match involving Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, The Mizz and Rey Mysterio. What everyone really wants to see though, is how WWE will excuse Daniel Bryan from NOT participating in WWE Crown Jewel due to real-life behind-the-scenes political reasons. AJ Styles calls out Daniel Bryan AJ Styles comes out and calls out Daniel Bryan. With both men face to face, AJ Styles apologizes to Daniel. DB says he has no need to apologize since they both want the same thing, the WWE Championship. AJ says the Pele Kick he hit DB by accident last week was on purpose and he looks forward to do it again at Crown Jewel. AJ declares he will defend the title right now. Shane McMahon shows up and announces he is back on Smackdown Live. He declares that AJ Styles will defend his title against Daniel Bryan tonight and calls for a

WWE RAW Oct 29, 2018

By Mark Rodriguez This should be an interesting episode of RAW. This review might not as in-depth as before since I was out and about and came back near the end of the first match. We will see what Dean Ambrose have to say about attacking Seth Rollins last week. Also since John Cena refuses to perform at Crown Jewel for behind-the-scenes real-world political reasons, what will WWE do to replace him? Let's find out. Brock Lesnar and Braun Strauman-  Corbin would try to keep the peace between these two but Braun would shove him away. Corbin would attack Braun but it would backfire as The Monster Among Men would power slam him. The audience would egg him on to do it again and Braun would hit Corbin with another slam. However, as soon as he did this, Brock Lesnar picked up Braun and hit him with the F5. First Match- Bobby Lashley (with Lio Rush) VS Fin Balor Both guys had a decent match and Lashley overpowered Fin. When Fin saw an opening he managed to hit Lashley with a

Mae Young Classic Final Match at Evolution (Io Shirai VS Toni Storm)

By Mark Rodriguez Finally after facing multiple opponents and getting past the Quarter Finals and the Semi Final, Io Shirai and Toni Storm were the two finalists to compete to win the Mae Young Classic tournament at WWE's first every all-woman PPV, Evolution. Along the road, Toni Storm defeated Jinny, Hiroyo Matsumoto, Mia Yim and Meiko Satomura to make it to the Finals. Io Shirai defeated Xia Brookside, Zeuxis, Deonna Purrazso and Rhea Ripley to make it to the end. Who will be the final winner? Final Match- Io Shirai VS Toni Storm The women start by trying to out grapple each other with headlocks and leg scissors. Both girls would knock each other with different forms of drokicks. Io finally has Toni in a Full Nelson Submission move on the mat. Toni managed to get her leg on the ropes to break it. Toni takes to the ropes and Io climbs up next to her and hits her with a drokick that sent her off down to the floor. The Genuis of the Skies does a Moonsault off the top a

Aposimz (Halloween Comicfest 2018)

By Mark Rodriguez I honestly have no ides what this one is about but the cover did grab my attention, and of course, with it being part of the Halloween Comicfest, it was free, so hey, why not? I guess it anything, it shows the importance of having a good cover that just grabs the eye. Aposimz is an artificial celestial body covered by a super structural shell. Fifty centuries ago, humanity lost the war against the core and lost the right to live on Aposimz, being stranded on the frigid shell. Despite disease and killer machinery, humanity somehow survives. Three months ago at the ruins level, several people in protective gear are scaling the side of a large snowy structure. One of them says they should return to the surface since even if they find 'more' they wouldn't be able to carry it back, and there might not be enough oxygen for the return trip. Eo says they came for combat training, but asks why they're leaving after finding some provisions. The woman wi

A Walk Through Hell # 1 (Halloween Comicfest 2018)

By Mark Rodriguez Here's something different. Every year we have Halloween Comicfest, which is like a second helping of Free Comic Book Day. The main difference of course is that HCF has a lot of comics that have Halloween-ish themes. This one looked interesting, so I decided to pick it up and check it out. The issue starts with a couple walking through a mall during the holiday season. The man wants to set up his mother with the woman's father, and she's not exactly thrilled with the idea. The narrator says this isn't the worst thing that they'd be facing. Suddenly out of nowhere, a crazed gunman shoots the baby that the woman was carrying and they both go down. It takes a moment for the man to react to his woman and child dropping dead, as the man continues to shoot other people. The man screams in anguish as the mad gunman shoots himself. Elsewhere an FBI agent named McGreggor checks his phone and people everywhere post all sorts of social media commen

Rise of the TMNT (Halloween Comicfest 2018)

By Mark Rodriguez So the first episode of the show kinda gave me an idea of what to expect from this hyper fast paced action shows about the Turtles using magical weapons against all-new enemies. This comic was my main objective for this year's Halloween Comicfest, but I was surprised it was a smaller book than the regular sized comic book. Oh well, let's take a look. The story starts with Raph and Leo balancing themselves on Mikey as he rides his skateboard and April holding on as Don flies using his Quadcopter attached to his high-tech shell down the nightly streets of New York. They're chasing the mutant former celebrity chef, Meat Sweats, as he had just stolen a food truck from April's boss to use as his new kitchen (and also stolen a pizza that April just made for the guys). Don hands Raph some of his homemade ninja magnets. Raph leaps off of Mikey's shoulders and crashed against the back of the truck. How in the shell is Mikey able to support both L
