Mae Young Classic Final Match at Evolution (Io Shirai VS Toni Storm)

By Mark Rodriguez

Finally after facing multiple opponents and getting past the Quarter Finals and the Semi Final, Io Shirai and Toni Storm were the two finalists to compete to win the Mae Young Classic tournament at WWE's first every all-woman PPV, Evolution. Along the road, Toni Storm defeated Jinny, Hiroyo Matsumoto, Mia Yim and Meiko Satomura to make it to the Finals. Io Shirai defeated Xia Brookside, Zeuxis, Deonna Purrazso and Rhea Ripley to make it to the end. Who will be the final winner?

Final Match- Io Shirai VS Toni Storm

The women start by trying to out grapple each other with headlocks and leg scissors. Both girls would knock each other with different forms of drokicks. Io finally has Toni in a Full Nelson Submission move on the mat. Toni managed to get her leg on the ropes to break it.

Toni takes to the ropes and Io climbs up next to her and hits her with a drokick that sent her off down to the floor. The Genuis of the Skies does a Moonsault off the top and hits Toni perfectly outside the ring. The girls fight for control on the apron of the ring and Toni slams her in a German Supex right onto the apron. This sends Shirai out of the ring and facing a count out.

Shirai gets in and break the count. She hits Toni with a series of elbows and an uppercut. As Shirai runs at her, Toni hits her with a clothesline and then the Storm Zero, but couldn't get the pin. Shirai hit Toni with the 619 and tried to do a sunset flip/roll up pin but couldn't get the win.

Shirai hits Toni with the double knees to the face and goes for the Moonsault. Toni had her knees up so Shirai landed right o them. Toni quickly grabbed her for the Storm Zero and scored the win. Toni Storm is the winner of the Mae Young Classic 2018!!

Triple H and Steph McMahon show up to congratulate Toni with flowers and the trophy.

My Overall Opinions

I was kinda surprised it was over so quick.. but they do have to share the airtime with all these other matches in the PPV. It was a great match and both girls showed off what they could do at a broader scale. I was actually surprised Toni won. Both women had huge fanbases but since Toni is already on NXT UK and this might have been a chance for Io Shirai to make her entrance in WWE. Either way, Io Shirai, The Genius of the Skies made a fan out of me.

The entire tournament was fun and I enjoyed every episode as we got closer and closer to the end. It also introduced me to newer wrestlers to follow, whether or not it's on WWE or not. I do want to see more of Rhea Ripley, Mia Yim, Jinny, Priscilla Kelly and the rest. I'm glad that this time I was able to catch it and not miss an episode. I really hope this becomes a tradition and we get a Mae Young Classic 2019!

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
