Mae Young Classic Final Match at Evolution (Io Shirai VS Toni Storm)

By Mark Rodriguez Finally after facing multiple opponents and getting past the Quarter Finals and the Semi Final, Io Shirai and Toni Storm were the two finalists to compete to win the Mae Young Classic tournament at WWE's first every all-woman PPV, Evolution. Along the road, Toni Storm defeated Jinny, Hiroyo Matsumoto, Mia Yim and Meiko Satomura to make it to the Finals. Io Shirai defeated Xia Brookside, Zeuxis, Deonna Purrazso and Rhea Ripley to make it to the end. Who will be the final winner? Final Match- Io Shirai VS Toni Storm The women start by trying to out grapple each other with headlocks and leg scissors. Both girls would knock each other with different forms of drokicks. Io finally has Toni in a Full Nelson Submission move on the mat. Toni managed to get her leg on the ropes to break it. Mae Young Classic 2018- Semi Finals October 24, 2018

By Mark Rodriguez This is it! The two final matches to decide who will be the two women to face off at the first WWE All-Woman PPV, Evolution. Who will these two be? Match 1- Toni Storm VS Meiko Satomura Both women try to lock the other up until Toni gets Meiko in a headlock. Meiko gets Toni in a headscissors but Toni still gets out of it and goes back to the headlock. Toni sends Meiko to the mat with a running boot and starts kicking her around. She then gives her headbutts and goes for the pin, but Meiko still kicks out. Meiko starts giving Toni hard strikes on the underleg and then locked her in a modified version of the Figure Four Leg Lock to cause even more harm to the legs. Even though Toni grabs the ropes to break the hold, Meiko delivers more hard strikes to the legs. Meiko hits the Australian Storm with a Spinning Knee Kick but she still grabs her in a Leglock/Headlock submission hold. By Mark Rodriguez It's time for the quarter finals!!! Who will win between Rhea Ripley and Tegan Nox? Who will win between Toni Storm and Mia Yim? Let's find out! First Match- Lacey Lane VS Meiko Satomura Both started rather evenly matched with Lacey blocking all of Meiko's kicks. Meiko caught her leg, but was nice enough to let her go and offer a handshake. Lacey slapped her hand away and got kicked to the side of the head, followed by a spinkick while she was down. After trading some painful kicks, Meiko got Lacey into the Armbar until she was luckily enough to get her foot on the ropes to break the submission. Lacey got some kicks in and hit The Final Boss with a running knee to the face. She did a Crossbody off the ropes but Meiko till kicked out. With both women on shakey legs, Meiko clocked Lacey on the side of the head with a kick and then picked her up for the Death Valley Driver. Meiko secures the win and advances to the Semi Finals. Mark Rodriguez The Mae Young Classic continues as we enter the second round. So far Rhea Ripley, Lacey Lane, Toni Storm and Meiko Satomura have already advanced to the quarter finals. With talented women like Kaitlin, Io Shirai and Tegan Nox yet to compete, which one will advance to the quarter finals now? Match 1- Zeuxis VS Io Shirai It looked like Io pulled Zeuxis in for a kiss when they shook hands in the beginning of the match, but whatever it was, it was pretty quick. Shirai was in control until Zeuxis send her her flying out of the ring with the Basement Drop Kick that seemed to have injured her opponent's shoulder. Now with a weak spot, Zeuxis would focus on the injured shoulder, getting her trapped in Arm Lock. With Shirai up against the ring post, Zeuxis would kick her shoulder and also hit her with a double knee. With so many women that proved their abilities in the first round, which ones will advance to the quarter finals? Let's find out! Match 1- Toni Storm VS Hiroyo Matsumoto Both women evenly matched, getting out of each other's wrestling holds. Toni offered a handshake as the crowd cheered for both of their skills, but Hiroyo would take this chance to kick her in the stomach and gain control of the match. The Lady Godzilla would hit her with a Missile Drop Kick off the ropes. Toni hit her with a German Suplex to regain control and tried to pin her with the Fisherman Plex, but Hiroyo kicked out. Toni would try for a German Suplex Bridge but Hiroyo would kick out. Upon trying for a second German Suplex, Hiroyo got her into the Rock Drop, but Toni placed her leg on the ropes to break the pin. By Mark Rodriguez The first round continues in the second Mae Young Tournament. It's been pretty cool so far, so let's check out the last few matches for the first round. Last time we saw Toni Storm win her match to advance as well as the return of Kaitlyn. Who else will advance to the second round? Match 1-  Rachel Evers VS Hiroyo Matusmoto Both women started rather evenly matched, with nothing working on the other until Hiroyo finally shoulder tackled Rachel down. Even though Rachel managed to pull a power slam on her, Hiroyo nailed her with a missile drop kick off the turnbuckle that knocked the wind out of her. From there Hiroyo 'The Lady Godzilla' would leave Rachel hanging on the ropes as she'd press her foot against her. She'd then hit Evers with a running crossbody as well as a double knee off the top turnbuckle. Rachel finally turned the tide by getting of on an attempted slam and hitting Hiroyo with a power bomb. We've already seen some interesting characters like Rhea Ripley and Mercedes Martinez, so let's see who we see now. It looks like Kaitlyn will also be doing her WWE comeback in this episode. Kaitlyn changed a lot since her WWE days, most noticeably she ditched the blonde hair Match 1- Kaitlyn VS Kavita Devi Like, IDK what is up with the picture, but Kaitlyn looks way better than that It was a good match as Kaitlyn started things off with a running clothesline and three led drops onto her opponent. Kavita showed off her power moves, including an armbar submission and some brutal take downs. Kaitlyn showed her fans that she still got it as she managed to get out of one of Kavita's attempted slams and mount some offense. By Mark Rodriguez The Mae Young 2018 all-female WWE tournament continues. So far Tegan Nox, Rhea Ripley, Lacey Lane and Meiko Satomura have advanced to the following round. The Mae Young Tournament has new episodes every Wednesday on the WWE Network with the final match being at the WWE Evolution PPV. Let's see who will advance in today's matches. First Match - Deonna Purrazzo VS Priscilla Kelly Both women started pretty even with submission moves and reversals until Kelly managed to kick Deonna down with a big boot to the face. She then grabbed Deonna with a Running Knee to the face and then a Dragon Sleeper. Even though Deonna got out of it, she was worn down until she managed to hit Kelly with a chop to regain control.She would follow up with an impressive Springboard into a Dropkick to Kelly's face.  In the end, Deonna grabbed Kelly into her Fujiwara Armbar and she had no choice but to tap out.
