Udon Street Fighter Comics Street Fighter Legends Sakura # 3

By Mark Rodriguez

Sakura had recently watched Rainbow Mika wrestle live, and actually helped her defeat Zangief. A few days later... just when everything returned to normal, Karin Kanzuki arrives in a helicopter and challenges Sakura to a rematch. Let's see what happens.

The issue opens with Dan about to face off against Sakura. Just as Dan dashes in to attack, Sakura tosses a huge red gem at him. Dan is confused and then sees several red gems fall from the sky, until eventually a giant-sized one squishes him. He wakes up in the hospital, and ironically the person sitting next to him is playing Gem Fighter. The nurse turns on the TV for him and it's showing media coverage of Karin's helicopter entrance.

Karin challenges Sakura to a rematch and the 'headbanded wondergirl', as the news reporter called her, tells her she's too busy with her training and doesn't have time to keep beating her over and over again. Karin says Sakura is scared of embarrassing herself and her master, which pushes her buttons. Karin is so confident she will challenge Sakura at whatever she wants. Sakura looks around and sees a hot dogs being advertised... and challenges Karin to a hot dog eating contest. Karin is put off by the idea, but gets a sly smile and agrees to it. She tells Sakura that when the contest is over the next match's format, time and location is up to her. Sakura agrees and is about to shake her hand, but Karin rudely turns and walks off.

Later on Sakura is training.... by having Shoma from Rival Schools sending hot dogs flying at her by smacking them with his baseball bat... and having her catch them all in her teeth. After she's had her full of hot dogs, Sakura spends the next three days meditating and building up enough hunger for the contest.

At the hot dog eating championship, the announcer says that everyone except for two contestants have bowed out over the last few days, even the previous champ. The champ says he wants to pursue other challenges and his bowing out had nothing to do with all the money he received from the Kanzuki Corporation. Sakura and Karin arrive and the Rival Schools gang cheer on the headbanded wondergirl. Edmund Honda is the guest judge and he announces that the hot dogs are high quality and each competitor's plate has 100 pounds of them. He then starts the contest.

Sakura grabs several hot dogs at once and starts chowing down. Honda is impressed by Sakura's intensity and Karin's speed 'so fast you can barely see the hot dogs enter her mouth'. Sakura is surprised that Karin's pile already low... so she tightens her headband and really gets down to it. Hinata is filming the event and notices something on her camcorder.

Putting the video in slow-motion shows Karin has been hiding the hot dogs under the table at rapid speed. Natsu serves up one of her volleyballs (that she randomly decided to bring along to a hot dog eating contest?) and Shoma cracks it with his bat. The volleyball smacks Karin's table aside, knocking it over and revealing her butler hiding underneath. Karin apologizes for cheating and asks Sakura if she's in any condition to continue. Sakura says she's so full even her brain is full of beef. Karin then sets her trap.

Karin calls four strong guys by her side and challenges Sakura to a handicapped anything goes martial arts match. Sakura says she can't be serious and declares this isn't fair. Karin says she just fed 100 pounds of meat to her butler, she doesn't care about fair... and charges towards Sakura alongside her men.

My Opinions:

Quite a fun read, and I like all the Rival Schools cameos, which makes sense since Sakura guest stars in that game as well. We even see extra RS characters walk by while she's meditating. And it was nice to see Honda make an appearance as well.

Man... Karin is such a super bitch, isn't she? I didn't think she was that ruthless. Even when she gets on her chopper, she commands the pilot to take her home... even when her servants haven't finished boarding it yet. Man, there's being a pampered snob, and then there's being an outright villain. Believe me, Karin is one of my all-time favorite female Street Fighters and it's a shame she was never in another game besides Alpha 3 and um... Capcom Fighting Jam... (I'd take her over Decapre any day) but even I'm eager to see Sakura kick her arrogant ass.

The Gem Fighter shout-out was unexpected, but funny, especially Dan's first reaction upon seeing a giant red gem and curiously poking it. Hey, Dan can't be all that lame... he's featured in a videogame! I wonder though, since Gem Fighter exists as a videogame within the Street Fighter world (at least in Udon's version of it) do the characters get paid royalties? What would Akuma even do with his share?

Stay tuned as I cover the fourth and final part of this story.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
