Justice League # 4 (2018)

By Mark Rodriguez

The Totality has arrived on Earth and might possibly hold either the secret to save the universe or rule it. Superman and Martian Manhunter are able to get past the Totality's defenses to see what's inside, and Batman has been miniaturized to be inside Superman and Hawkwoman is inside Manhunter. However, Lex Luthor is also hiding inside Superman while the Joker is hiding inside Manhunter, and the Clown Prince of Crime is about to attack Hawkwoman. Siniestro has also revealed that he had handed the planet over to an evil sentient sun called Umbrax.

The story starts with the story of Gorilla Grodd when he was younger and beat on by his father and the other gorillas. While all of the gorillas could talk, Grodd has hidden mental powers. He arrived to a cave and uses this power to make a boulder that was sealing the entrance fly off. Grodd has an explorer that is trapped inside that wanted to capture Grodd to make him dance in some glass display... so the supergorilla has made the guy dance against his will. The explorer is literally dancing himself to the bone and pleads to stop, but Grodd commands him to dance faster.

Inside the Totality, Superman and Martian Manhunter try to avoid giant statues that attack them as they talk to Manhunter telepathically.

Hawkwoman calls out to the others, and finally sees Joker with a chainsaw. She says her wings are Nth metal so he won't be able to cut them. Joker bonks her on the side of the head with it.

Ugh... whoever is drawing the Joker... are you even trying?
Batman also realizes he lost contact with the others as Luthor starts to shoot at his ship. The ship explodes, leaving him to the mercy of the Totality-infected microbes inside Superman. Batman is eaten by one of them.

Green Lantern and Cyborg get ready to blast Siniestro, and John doesn't care if the villain will survive the blast or not. Siniestro blocks the blasts with his evil energy saying John's will is weaker than the ugliness that lurks inside. Sinietro's energy destroys John's ring and he tells him he infused the last of his cells with ultraviolet energy. He'll be permanently changed into a Ultraviolet Lantern and will never be able to become a Green Lantern ever again. Cyborg and John escape and Siniestro says they can run all they want, they have nowhere to hide.

On the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Flash fight off against creatures. Flash's powered are affected by the Still Force, which confuses him since the last time he fought The Turtle, he was old and weak.

Grodd shows up with the baby strapped onto his chest, using his mental energy to increase his power. The baby is revealed to be The Turtles, but de-aged, and Grodd has harnessed his power to force his enemies still. Cheetah shows up and Wonder Woman is defenseless in her frozen state. Black Manta also arrives, staring down his archenemy Aquaman. Flash is sent flying to the ground, and he tells Grodd to let them. Grodd agrees to and Wonder Woman and Aquaman race to attack their enemies.. bot realizing they're actually fighting each other, due to Grodd's mind tricks. The real Cheetah and Black Manta watch but say they have to leave to uncover their own hidden treasures. Flash runs to stop Grodd and the supergorilla encourages him to give it his all.

Superman sees that the statues freeze and are distracted as they realize that the Still Force has been activated. He takes this chance to grab Martian Manhunter and flies him out of the area. Superman wants to know exactly what Manhunter saw.

Manhunter explains he was on a mission to find out what destroyed Mars. He says they were a collective but there was always one in charge of being the repository of all memory of Mars' history and they stayed off the planet. They called the chosen one The Keep. He found The Keep and was told Mars was destroyed by what was called H'Ronmeer's curse, a telepathic disease that takes the psychic form of whatever one worships and turns it against them.

When the Totality arrived, Vandal Savage sent him the mental image of a martian child imbued with something worse than the curse. He saw the same vision from the Source Wall. Manhunter thinks this is all his fault. Superman looks at him with an evil smile and tells him that it was his fault, and thanks him for the doom of everything. Superman is now under control of Lex Luthor, and he tells the Joker to show his hand. Joker drills his vehicle deeper into Martian's brain.

Green Lantern tells Cyborg he can't reach the Green Power Battery, just the pull that the Ultraviolet has on him. Cyborg tells him that the Still Force is undoing the boundary between the Milky Way and Umbrax. He says the costume that Siniestro's costume lets him channel into the invisible spectrum to harness it and send out a call towards humanity to pull them in. Cyborg tries to contact the Flash.

Flash tries to attack Grod but this only serves to power up the Still Force completely. Now there is no barrier to the invisible spectrum. Now with all the planets that Umbrax controls and the people coming to his call, Siniestro now mans the largest Corps ever.

Cheetah and Black Manta find the key to the graveyard of gods. Grodd and Turtle smile evilly and say Luthor was right. Grodd sees that only was life powered by dark motives, the universe itself had a dark soul. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor and the Joker have completely taken control of Superman and Martian Manhunter and walk towards the Totality, the very secret of the multiverse.

My Opinions

The story is interesting, though I'm lost on a lot since I missed out everything involving the Source Wall and the discovery that the multiverse is dying and all that. Another side effect of this will affect Justice League Dark in which magic is in the danger of disappearing from the DCU as a result of the destruction of the source wall. Somehow Wonder Woman will be on that team, while somehow dealing with the current situation here.

Luthor proves to be the master schemer we all know he is, and he's about to achieve his master plan. What can I say? The heroes are screwed from all sides between the Totality, the Still Force and the Ultraviolet Corps, Wonder Woman and Aquaman fighting each other to the death, I have no idea how they're going to stop all of this and save all the multiverse.

I still don't know how Joker could have been trusted to not screw the plan and just go crazy inside Manhunter's mind. Even though he was eager to cut off Hawkwoman's head, he still followed the plan. This Joker design is just weird. It looks like he just randomly has smeared lipstick or red paint or whatever all over his mouth. Plus, while all the other characters look alright, it looks like they're not even trying when it comes to drawing the Joker look right, new design or not. No. Just no.

There's not much to say except the bad guys are near their end game. How will the Justice League prevail??

Also just ugh... at the thought of Grodd forcing a guy to literally dance to his death. I can only assume the poor guy danced until his ankles shattered.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
