X-Men Battle of the Atom Part 8 (Uncanny X-Men # 13)

By Mark Rodriguez

The epic story with X-Men from all time periods is coming to a close as the Future X-Men have been revealed to be fakes. The Future Kitty is revealed to be the future son of Wolverine and Mystique in disguise. And while they continue to apologize, Future Beast and XornJean seem pretty determined to send the Classic X-Men back to their time period no matter what the cost. Now Modern Cyclops has arrived with his gang and the real Future X-Men and a big battle is about to take place at the Jean Grey school.

The issue opens with Cyclops' group standing out the Jean Grey School. Future Colossus tells Sentinel-X to take his baby self and Modern Jubilee to safety. Future Jubilee is eager to gut Future Xavier. Cyclops wants the to make a plan first. Future Iceman warns Cyclops that they're not ready for how vicious the Future Brotherhood has become (the recap considered them as such even though it was never mentioned anywhere in part 7. I'm calling the evil Future X-Men the Future Brotherhood from here on out to differentiate from the two sets of Future X-Men). Wiccan notes that Classic Iceman and Beast as missing, as well as Psylocke. Just then a big piece of the tower falls near them and they have to get out of the way.

'Psylocke' was actually Mystique and Wolverine's son, named Raze, in disguise and Future Xavier has Ice Hulk toss more huge chunks of the debris at the X-Men. Wiccan managed to save the team from the huge chunk of the North Tower that almost crushed them. Cyclops tells them the plan is to get inside and rescue the Classic X-Men and tells Magik to warp inside. Future Jubilee points out the Ice Hulk tossing the huge chunks of broken tower at them, and Future Phoenix tosses his flames to burn anything he tosses into ashes before it hits them.

Magik and Future Colossus wander inside the school, looking for Beast's Lab and are both knocked out by some sort of shockwave sent by Molly.

Molly is accompanied by Future Deadpool and they're ready to finish the fight. Magik grabs Deadpool and warps outside with him. This leaves Future Colossus to fight with Molly, who seems pissed at him over the 'Stark Tower/Baxter Building Wars'.

Magik and Deadpool appear in free fall, leaving Wade to fire his guns as he continues to fall. Molly and Future Colossus trade punches until Magik suddenly warps behind her and impales her with her Soulsword.

FATALITY!!!
Outside the team prepares themselves for the Future Xavier. He sends in Krakoa to devour Cyclops and his team. He asks Future Beast how everything is going and informs them that Deadpool is no longer with them. Raze has just arrived with Classic Beast and Iceman and XornJean places them on the Time Cube the others. They're finally ready to send the Classics back home, and XornJeans bids a tearful farewell to her past self. As they turn it on, Magik comes in and demands they shut off the Time Cube. XornJean smacks her with a psychic attack.

Paralyzed, Magik asks Future Jean what could have happened to her to have changed her like this. Jean says she saw the world for what it is and wanted to save them from it, but they never listen. Raze wants to gut her, but XornJean says she has it under control. Outside, the X-Men battle Krakoa from the inside, but Xavier commands him to not let them go, no matter what. XornJean commands Magik to kill herself with her own Soulblade, since she will eventually kill herself eventually. She then bursts into flames.

Colossus escapes from Krakoa and impales Xavier from behind with his Soulsword. The rest of Cyclop's team are now spit out by the monster. Back inside, Raze is confused as to what happened to Magik, and Jean says she teleported. Future Beast is upset since something is wrong with the Time Cube. The Classic X-Men are still here, but the Time Cube doesn't seem to be damaged. Jean and Beast decide to test it out and send Raze back in time, disguised as Classic Cyclops. Raze then comes back and confirms that the time machine did work. He managed to see the original Charles Xavier, reading a book in a garden, but he returned to the present before he could be seen.

FATALITY 2!!
XornJean asks why Raze could be sent back in time and not the Classic X-Men. Future Beast isn't sure but theorizes that their younger selves staying in the present for such a long time could have created such a complicated space/time paradox that the normal laws of space and time no longer apply to them. Jean asks what that means. Just then Cyclops appears behind them with his team and the Future X-Men, telling her it means they screwed themselves.

My Opinions-

This issue brought the action as Magik and Colossus are killing off the Future Brotherhood one by one. One question I have though, if Psylocke was just Raze in disguise, what happened to the real Psylocke? And how did these evil X-Men get so dark and twisted?

The main issue here if the fact that for some reason the Classic X-Men now CAN'T be sent back to their timeline. They've basically become time paradoxes and are free to live and die without affecting the modern day X-Men.

I'm anxious to see how all of this ends, since it looks like we're in for a hell of a final battle. And after seeing Xavier and Molly get impaled, dayuuum, these X-Men play for keeps. The Fatalities were cool, it seems seeing on Soulsword impalement was so awesome, we just had to see a second one! Anyways, let's see what happens as the battle intensifies next issue.

AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament The Deadly Draw- Final Match

By Mark Rodriguez Alright guys, so this is the final match between the Women's Tag Tournament, the Deadly Draw meaning that teams were made at random depending on what color chips they would select out of a drawing. The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. Diamante gets Allie in an armbar and...

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...
