Avengers-X-Men AXIS # 4

By Mark Rodriguez

The Red Skull has gained the powers of Xavier's mind and is using them to instill hatred upon the Marvel Universe. Magneto opted to flat out kill the Red Skull but this somehow turned him into the Red Onslaught. Avengers and X-Men teamed up in a 3-issue battle until the Red Skull was finally defeated and turned back to normal. The Avengers want to take him into custody.... but now that the possibility exists that Professor Xavier is somehow alive somewhere within the Red Skull's mind, the X-Men want him as well. The teams argue and the Avengers take the Red Skull which sparks another divide between the teams. Now what will happen?

The comic starts in one of SHIELD's Helicarriers as the Avengers discuss with Fury on how they defeated Red Skull and stopped World War Hate. Maria Hill says they're here to take Red Skull into custody but Captain America says they have him securely locked down. The Hulk says maybe SHIELD is right, but Cap says he's made his decision. He also tells Fury that he doesn't work for him and socks him in the face. He reminds Fury that he's not the Steve Rogers Captain America and walks off with the Hulk. He radios the Scarlet Witch to arrange a meeting and to keep Rogers out of it.

Meanwhile in Brooklyn the police are dealing with a hostage situation involving a super villain named The Squid. The Squid tell his men to kill one of the hostages to show the cops they mean business. Someone swings into action but it turns out to be Carnage instead of Spider-Man. Carnage takes down the gang and defeats the Squid.... and he asks the hostage family who wants to 'give him a hug' first. The real Spider-Man arrives and the cops inform him about Carnage.

Spider-Man busts in to find the family and the bad guys alive.... and he even left the money behind. Spider-Man asks if they're sure the guy was Carnage and the bad guys say he even left a note behind. The note says 'from your friendly neighborhood Carnage' similar to the notes Spidey himself leaves behind sometimes. The Web-Slinger says this really is disturbing and calls it copyright infringement.

Meanwhile Iron Man arrives at a baseball stadium in San Francisco and announces his new Extremis App which is free and already on everyone's phones. If they use it, the Extremis can help their bodies achieve the look they've always wanted. Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil is in the stands and wonders what Stark is up to. Stark raises a toast to the crowd and after taking a sip says he missed drinking.

At the Jean Grey School of Higher Learning, Storm gives a speech on how they defeated the Red Skull and saved mutantkind from a human super villain. She says the dream to have humans and mutants coexist peacefully is dead and they have to strike first in this war the humans continue to wage against them. Havok says he tried to bridge the gap between humans and mutants and says it is impossible. Genesis, now looking pretty much like Apocalypse says it's the one law that never changes, survival of the fittest.

The Avengers prepare as they know the X-Men will soon be coming to take the Red Skull. Captain America suggests they should kill him to prevent them from possibly using him against them. Thor says if the X-Men continue to seek war after that, they will slaughter them.

Jarvis stands in the way of the Red Skull's holding cell and tell the heroes that killing the villain can't be the solution. Cap says they'd be saving many more lives by killing him. Scarlet Witch knocks him out of the way with her powers. Hulk watches over him and agrees with Jarvis. He blocks the Avengers path to the Red Skull and Luke Cage socks him out of the way. Hulk feels saddened that his friends are acting this way....and turns into Kluh, a savage bloodthirsty version of the Hulk.

Kluh defeats the Avengers and breaks out to cause destruction. The Avengers decide to just let him run rampant and focus their attention on the Red Skull. Upon opening the vault, they discover that the villain has already escaped!!!

My Opinions

The Red Skull's negativity is hitting the heroes hard as the Avengers are way too eager to kill their problems away. Thor has no problem with having to slaughter the X-Men if they interfere.... and when Hulk wants to stop them from killing Red Skull, Thor retorts with 'maybe there will be two bodies in need of burial'. And of course, Falcon socking Nick Fury out. You just don't mess with Samuel L. Jackson, you guys.

Among other things, Genesis seems to have turned all-out Apocalypse now. Iron Man is handing people his new app that makes you perfect and whatever, which kick-starts the new series The Superior Iron Man where it seems he's out to make humanity perfect... whether they want to or not. Hulk can somehow become a second Hulk called Kluh.... which is.....where the hell did that come from....?

On the flip side, Carnage is being nice? And of all people, Carnage is the one not killing people? We'll see what happens next as it looks like we're headed towards another Avengers VS X-Men.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
