Deadpool VS Carnage # 3

By Mark Rodriguez

Carnage is on a rampage, and Deadpool decided he's crazy enough to stop him. After fighting it out, the killer maniac got away with help from Shriek. After Deadpool got help from a crazy fanboy, he managed to find Carnage and Shriek again in a getaway car, and due to a tractor the Merc with the Mouth was driving, Shriek hit her head on the windshield and is knocked out. Carnage is pissed and it's time for round 2!

This comic starts off with Carnage and Deadpool hacking and slashing at each other. Carnage impales Deadpool, but he continues to talk his ear off. The symbiote tosses Deadpool onto a speeding truck. The truck driver stops and a crowd gathers to watch a badly broken and bleeding Deadpool get up and slowly heal back to normal. He looks more signs and sees a 'Mercury' logo on the truck driver and a schoolbus rooting for a team passes by, so he decides to look for a Mercury Team.

Carnage has a family hostage in their car as he makes them drive him and Shriek away from the fight. The kids ask Cletus if he was fighting with Spider-Man and if he was Venom. Carnage tells the kids to shut up or he'll kill them, which freaks out the mother. The father says he'll take them wherever he wants if he leaves the family alone. Carnage decides to play the same game Deadpool is playing with the 'signs' the world keeps giving him and asks the family where they were going. The father says they were just touring for weird places and ghost towns. Carnage checks out some road maps and brochures and tells him to hit the gas and continue with their vacation.

Deadpool follows on his motorbike, eventually finding the ghost town Carnage is hiding in and also finds the family car he took hostage. Deadpool sees bloody remains in the car and says he even he wouldn't do something that gorey, unless it was to Carnage.

Meanwhile Carnage and Shriek are walking around when the killer maniac senses something familiar in the area. Deadpool also walks around and says for a 'ghost town' it smells like military and the place is too clean. Inside a military base we find some guys caled the Mercury Team, armed with symbiote weapons to take down Carnage. They suddenly get attacked by Carnage himself, slicing them to ribbons.

Deadpool arrives and finds blood on a wall. Touching it reveals a button and it opens a secret elevator. Carnage soon finds him and cuts him up, but this time to several pieces.

Carnage thanks him since due to his advice on 'following the signs' he was able to find this base. He walks off saying the place will go up in flames soon. Deadpool lays in bloody pieces as a strange dog walks over to him and symbiote pieces crawl over to him. Deadpool is revived, now with 4 different symbiotes attached to him, all eager to help him take down Carnage!

My Opinions-

Good story and even better cliffhanger. Symbiote Deadpool is something I'd like to see... though I guess in a straight up fight, using the symbiotes would be cheating.

We see more examples of Carnage killing an innocent family, the kids included. Geez dude. Think of the children. Stuff like this makes him one of the scariest persons in the Marvel Universe that you do NOT want to see step out of the comic book. Also it seems Carnage's powers are entering Mask territory... he can turn into liquid form to slip into places, and he can stretch his neck out like a cartoon character without snapping his neck. I don't know how that works, does the symbiote mold Cletus' body as it sees fit? Venom always seemed a lot more solid in comparison.

Anyways, it was a good bloody gorey fightin' good time, and I'm eager for part 4 to see what Symbiote Deadpool can do.

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...

Goshawk and Falconet # 1 (heavy spoilers so beware!)

By Mark Rodriguez Brought to you by the same studios that brought you Arachna # 1 and 2, we get a brand new superhero duo, Goshawk and Falconet. Let's check it out. The story opens with Goshawk and Falconet soaring through the sky just above Santa Monica Bay. They fly towards a ship that is being robbed. Goshawk tells her to secure the cargo while he keeps the guards busy.  The robbers are working for a villain named Black Parrot. Goshawk lands between two of them and bashes their heads together. Just then a third man pulls a gun on him from behind. Goshawk retracts his wings which knocks the gun out of the man's hand. Goshawk knocks the guy out while Falconet kicks the guy protecting the cargo. Falconet uses one of her claws to pick the padlock and finds a room full of captured women. She assures them that they're alright now. On the lower decks, Black Parrot and a woman named Secretarybird think their mission is a success. With the harbormaster being bought and paid for ...
