Orgasm Girl review

 By Mark Rodriguez

Once in a while it's good to check out the works of these brave pioneers that seek out to publish their independent works without needing to work for 'the big two'. I saw this one on Indiegogo last year and saw that the person running it was close to reaching their goal so I threw my hat into the ring. I got my copy earlier in the year and now finally found the time to check it out. From my understanding it deals with an MMA fighter that has the ability to make her opponents orgasm by snapping her fingers. The only thing is, she needs to be able to touch them first, which isn't always easy in the middle of a fight. Let's see what I got myself into.

The story opens with our main character, Amari The Rose, winning a match against The Crusher. It is noticeable that one of her boxing gloves is off and is lying on the mat. The crowd is booing her and some people are claiming the match was rigged. As she walks out, some tough guys approach her claiming the fighter threw the match to her. Amari says it's not their business as long as the check clears. The guy had some money riding on The Crusher and says if she could beat him, then she should also be able to take him on. Amari drops her duffle bag and asks if he can handle her for five minutes. The man angrily takes a swing at her.

Amari easily dodges the punches and then socks him in the face, knocking him to the ground. His friends ask if this girl is even a woman and Amari assures them that she is. She snaps her fingers and Donny has his moment and is down for the count. The other two are confused as to what happened and also run towards her. Amari elbows both of them in the stomach and then touches their faces, asking if they want to know her secret. Amari snaps her fingers sending the other two to their happy place. One of the men figures this out and asks how she's doing this. Amari says nobody will ever believe them. She walks off saying she hopes that they're satisfied.

Amari returns to her apartment where she greets her friend and her little girl Sophie. Sophie looks up to Amari and wants to learn her fighting moves when she grows up. As Amari sits on her bed, she looks at her paycheck as she hears the crowd calling her cheater over and over again. Outside her window, Sophie is playing outside when a woman approaches her.

The woman asks Sophie if she would consider modeling and she walks off with the kid. Some men show up and Amari can hear Sophie scream from her window. The men are trying to abduct Sophie and Amari swings down from the fire escape to attack them. After hitting both men, Amari snaps her fingers. The men collapse with goofy grins on their faces. However, Amari didn't notice the woman that was with them, and she clocks out the heroine on the back of the head with a steel pipe. Amari is knocked out and the woman tells her men to put her in the van.

Amari wakes up finding herself being tied to a pipe. The woman seems to know about Amari's power and says she will put it to good use. First she wants her give her men a show and tries to take off her top. Amari musters the strength to shatter the pipe she's tied to, though her hands are still bound. She smashes the woman across the face with a double axe-handle, who tears off her top as she falls. Now topless, Amari dodges the attack of one of the men and wraps the rope around his neck, telling the woman to stop.

The woman pulls out a gun and says if Amari was smart, she'd use her trick on her, unless it doesn't work on women. The villainess says it's a shame and shoots at Amari, who manages to dodge. The MMA fighter runs while covering her chest, looking for Sophie. She sees a curtain down the hallway and heads for it. Behind the curtain is an auction where Sophie was just sold to 'the evil looking man in front'. Amari tears some of the curtain and uses it to cover her chest and shoulder-rams the guy against the podium.

Amari unties Sophie's hands while a guy, the winner of the auction, pulls a knife on them. The guy says Amari will be part of the deal now and he thrusts his knife at her, accidentally cutting her bonds. Amari socks him in the face, snaps her fingers and then kicks him down while he's caught off guard by her special ability. More men show up and one of the men grabs Amari's wrists so she can't touch him. Amari turns up the charm, making the man blush and she sees her chance to knock him out.

The other guy says this isn't a game and pulls out a gun. As he's doing so, Sophie runs up behind him and kicks him in the balls. Sophie is proud of herself and Amari tells her not to tell her mother that she taught him that. Amari and Sophie are ready to go home but are stopped by the woman.

The woman says Amari isn't a hero, she's a freak. She says she should go back into the room where her talents will be of use and give her 10% of the sales. She heard of the fixed boxing tournaments where she went under the name 'Amari the Rose', but she feels 'Orgasm Girl' would be a better fitting name. She pulls out a gun and says she might be a freak but she still bleeds like everybody else, and her trick won't work on her. Suddenly she is touched by someone off screen, a snap is heard and the woman falls to her knees.

Suddenly a blonde stranger entered the room saying he's sorry for getting involved but it looked like they could use some help. The issue ends with the appearance of this mysterious 'orgasm guy'?

My Opinions-

This was a fun read, though I was surprised by how short it was. When Amari woke up being tied to the pipe, it was already at the halfway point. The art is great with huge panels, very expressive characters and bright colors. Since it's an action comic there's also some dynamic fighting poses.

Due to the very nature of her powers and some cheesecake here and there, the comic is one for adults, though don't worry if you're concerned about nudity. Like other comics that are kinda risqué but don't go that far, even when Amari lost her top, there was clever posing and paneling to make sure readers didn't see the goods on full display. Possibly the darkest theme in the comic is just exactly what the auctioning was for. It wasn't mentioned directly, but we can read between the lines.

The story seems simple enough, Amari makes ends meet by fighting, cheating with her special power to win every match. I do wonder why she would use her power so often, we clearly see her take down guys with a single punch, so she can win clean if she wanted, but maybe she can't help herself. There is still that scene where it's obvious all the people calling her cheater does bother her, so that's an interesting character dynamic to look into.

Based on the description, Amari's mostly been fighting for herself but now that her neighbor's daughter got kidnapped, she took it upon herself to rescue her and use her ability to help others. I was caught off guard by the ending though. It's interesting that Amari's powers doesn't work on women, but I was expecting the twist that it actually did, she just wanted to keep it as a surprise. Instead we have someone else with the same power, that caught me by surprise and also made me curious about where this power came from if it's not unique.

Either way, I'm totally sold on this story and really hope there's a sequel. I haven't heard too many murmurings about an Orgasm Girl 2, but I'm all for it whenever one it's announced.

Orgasm Girl's story is written by DannPhan who runs a Youtube channel discussing things like comics and manga, and the art was drawn by SpunkyRamaz. Along with the comic, I also got a cool poster of the villainess in cuffs and some cool little cards of both Amari and the villainess. I'll link DannPhan's Youtube channel below.

  1. Like the person who published the article. I myself found the article intriguing & compelling.
Although I would prefer more action packed panels with violent opponents. Preferably women who could challenge her expertise in
    the ring.
I mean it's okay if she wants to sparr with men. However. If she's going to use her quirk or quik-like capabilities.
Such as the kind you would expect from One Punch man or Hero Academia.

Then the series will eventually become redundant. And every opponent tougher than her will collapse from lust. However. If the opponents she battled were gay dudes.

Then they would probably be immune to her quirk/s. because their predominant nature towards the male persuasion. Would allow them to fight her on slightly uneven terms.

    1. This is the first issue, I'm sure she will face tougher enemies as the series goes along. She already has 2 weaknesses. Her power doesn't work on women, and she has to touch her opponent first to make it work. You know future enemies are gonna learn to exploit this. But she has to look bad-ass on her first appearance of course.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
