 By Mark Rodriguez It's time to continue with the semi-finals to see who will be the two final tag teams to compete and win the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic at Takeover! First Match- Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez VS Kacy Cantazaro and Kayden Carter NXT Live February 3, 2021 Kacy and Dakota start out as they try to out-grapple each other, Kacy being the first to armdrag her opponent across the mat. Kacy goes for a headlock but Dakota drags her over to the ropes and sits her on top of the turnbuckle. As Dakota runs towards her, Kacy leaps off and hits her with a takedown. Kacy tags Kayden in who quickly trips Dakota down. Kacy holds onto her as Kayden comes in with a kick to the face. Kayden goes for the pin but Dakota kicks out. Dakota manages to grab Kayden and slam her down into a backbreaker. Raquel is tagged in and Kayden shows no fear over her larger opponent, smacking her in the chest. Raquel angrily knocks her down with a knee to the midsection. Raquel tries to pick her up ...

 By Mark Rodriguez We have the first ever NXT Dusty Rhodes Women Tag Team Classic this year with the matches going on during NXT Live and 205 Live. Last week we got the surprising debut of Priscilla Kelly and Elayna Black under their new ring names Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade. We also saw the surprising loss of the team of Mercedes Martinez and Toni Storm because Io Shirai hijacked the match. Let's see what else happens. Match 1- Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez VS Aliyah and Jessi Kamea NXT Live 1/27/2021 Raquel and Aliyah started off grappling but Raquel uses her height and strength advantage to pick her up, swing her around and drop her. Aliyah tags in her partner and Raquel picks her up in a variation of the torture rack. She lets her go and goes for an elbow drop but misses. This gives Kamea time to hit her with a dropkick and a running elbow to the face. Raquel swings Kamea over to Dakota's corner where she tries to go for a cheap shot but the ref caught her.  By Mark Rodriguez Since AEW became a thing I pretty much left WWE behind as I got sick of them and the direction they were going back then. I knew eventually I would come back, especially if they ever made another Mae Young Classic or Evolution 2. Well, as time went on some of the indie darlings I've been following on Rise Women's Wrestling and elsewhere have made it to NXT or AEW. For NXT I've seen Chelsea Greene and Shotiz Blackheart make the jump and for AEW I see Big Swole and Britt Baker over there. Now that NXT released the first ever Dusty Rhodes Womens Tag Team Classic as well as recently signing Priscilla Kelly and Elayna Black (as Gigi Dolin and Cora Jade), let's check it out. Since these matches also take place alongside the regular guy matches, there seems to be two a week, one on NXT and the other on 205 Live. I'm not sure if the main event will be featured either on NXT or as part of a PPV like the Finals of the last Mae Young Classic a few years back...

 By Mark Rodriguez Let's take a look at this week's AEW Women's matches, though it looks like this time we only got 3 matches to cover. There's also a bit of news regarding Priscilla Kelly and Elayna Black being signed with NXT that I will bring up at the end of this. Match 1- Marti Daniels VS Shanna Both woman grapple and in a test of strength, Marti shoves Shanna across the ring. Marti tries to take Shanna down with a Big Boot, but the Dragon Slayer rolls out of the way and does a dropkick to send her down. Shanna bounces off the ropes and hits Marti with a back-elbow and goes for a crucifix pin, but her opponent kicks out. With Marti down, Shanna runs over and does an elbow drop and a legdrop on her. Shanna tries to get her in a hold but Marti gets out of it. The Tall Glass of Whoopass sends Shanna bouncing against the ropes and this time she does manage to hit her with the Big Boot.  Shanna is down but Marti is too busy making fun of the (small) crowd booing her. By Mark Rodriguez So my new work schedule came in and it looks like I'll be missing RAW and Smackdown like I used to before. Luckily I can always watch NXT on the WWE Network whenever, so I will try to keep up with them and see what's going on. Let's see what happened today. First Match- Matt Riddle VS Punishment Martinez Both men would start with an intense grapple until Martinez would shove Riddle off him. Martinez would get out of Riddle's Sleeper Hold attempts and the King of Bros would unleash a series of kicks on him. When Matt tried to follow up, Martinez would send him down with a Cyclone Kick and try to go for the pin. Riddle would hit him with a chop and Martinez would swat him back down with a Clothesline. Punishment Martinez would withstand Riddle's series of strikes until a Roundhouse Kick to the side of the head knocked him down. Riddle would lock him in the Bro-mission Hold and win by tap out. By Mark Rodriguez Since the Mae Young Classic is over, I might as well check out NXT for a while and get caught up on the Superstars of tomorrow. Last time it was revealed that Johnny Gorgano was the mystery guy that attacked Alistair Black. Also, Shayna Baszler defeated Kairi Sane and regained the NXT Women's Championship on WWE Evolution. What will happen now? First Match- Nikki Cross VS Mercedes Martinez Nikki got Mercedes in an arm lock, but Mercedes was able to get out of it and toss her back. Nikki got on the ropes and kicked Mercedes in the face. This got Mercedes angry and she flat out grabbed Nikki's leg and yanked her down to the mat. With Nikki down, Mercedes stomped on her and got her in a Guillotine but the Twisted Sister was able to punch her way out. Nikki jumped off the ropes and planted Mercedes to the mat with a Crossbody but she still kicked out of the pin. Mercedes rocked Nikki with three Backdrop Drivers and a Running Knee to the face.
