Dragonball Super manga Volume 1 (Chapter 7)

 By Mark Rodriguez

Beerus and Champa have arranged a 5 on 5 martial arts tournament with the best fighters of universe 6 and 7. Whoever wins will get a wish from the Super Dragonballs.

Chapter 7- Warriors from Universe 6

Goku goes to see Mr. Satan and enlists Majin Buu for the tournament. Meanwhile Bulma tells Jaco about the tournament and he wants to see it too. Bulma says friends and family are allowed to join, so he can bring his girlfriend too. Jaco makes excuses and Bulma figures out that he's been dumped again.

Bulma and Jaco arrive to meet Lord Zuno, who literally knows everything. Lord Zuno takes offerings which in this case is a kiss to the cheek from Jaco. Since Jaco is a guy, he gets one question. To prove that Lord Zuno really is all-knowing, he asks him Bulma's bust size, which he knew. Bulma kisses Zuno's cheek, but since she is not his type she only gets three questions.

Zuno is extremely literal, so even asking him to repeat himself with a clarifying question counts as a question. Before she can accidentally waste all her questions, Bulma asks about the Super Dragonballs. Lord Zuno tells them that there are 7 Super Dragonballs total between Universe 6 and 7. He also explains that they were created by the Dragon God named Zamala.

Meanwhile, Goku and Vegeta train in the Room of Spirit and Time for 3 days our time, which is 3 years their time. In there they are free to fight using Super Saiyan Blue without worrying about destroying the place.

Later, everyone is traveling in a giant rectangular box through space as they head towards the tournament. Everyone from the Dragonball gang is along for the ride, including Pilaf, Mai and Shou. Jacko invited the Galactic King, who feels bothered by the fact that he is not standing out. Jaco tells him the gang knows the God of Destruction and the Kaioshins so he's not too outlandish to them. Beerus is informed about the Super Dragonballs and how Champa has been sneaking into their universe to take them. Pilaf and his crew overhear about the Super Dragonballs and try to keep from getting recognized by Goku.

Goku asks Videl where Gohan is, and she tells him he was busy at a conference. Goku also meets Monaka, the strongest person Beerus ever faced.

Once they arrived, Goku finds out that Kaioshin and Kibito have use the Namekian Dragonballs to defuse back into two seperate beings. Goku also greets the Kaiohshins from Universe 6. The writing exam is about to begin and the gang gets their first look at the Universe 6 fighters, and one of them looks like Freeza!

The bonus page shows Goku punching Monaka in the face, similar to what happened when he first met him in the anime.

My thoughts-

This is a pretty good chapter that gets the gang ready for the big tournament as well as tell us a little more about the Super Dragonballs. It's also cool to see that they were allowed to bring the gang along to witness the fights. Aside from the time the crew had to hide in Kami Sama's Temple in the Buu Saga, some people like Chichi, Bulma and Uulong rarely get to visit the more outlandish areas in the series. I did notice some differences here and there. For one thing, Krillin looks very different from the manga and anime for whatever reason.

In the manga Krillin is still bald, I'm assuming still fresh off the fight with Freeza, which we didn't get to see, and wearing an outfit similar to what he wore in the Battle of Gods arc. In the anime, he grows his hair back some and is wearing a red Tacos shirt which he also wears for a few episodes.

Also for some reason they brought Pilaf, Mai and Shou along. In the movie and anime versions, Pilaf's gang had been around since the Battle of Gods arc, but they are first shown here. They pretty much start the following arc either living with or hanging out at Capsule Corp a lot.... for some reason.... so they might as well re-introduce the characters here.

It's honestly hard to tell if they were invited or they just somehow managed to sneak aboard the inter-dimensional space cube.

One thing the manga also skipped out on was the fact that we got to see Goku and Vegeta with beards after they were done training. That could have been the gag page.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
