Uncharted Comic Series #4

 By Mark Rodriguez

Oh no! The Amber Room is in pieces, what is the group going to do now? Fix the plane and leave? Or attempt to look for Agartha and the Hollow Earth?

The beginning starts the issue with memories retelling about the Amber Room and Agartha and the Hollow Earth. But back to the present, the Amber Room and Michael's hope to fix his family's name are destroyed. Sully appears behind Nate and Chloe asking what's with all the screaming. The two explain that the Amber Room was destroyed. Sully is not surprised. Chloe asks about when they can leave, but Sully explains that the plane was really damaged on the landing.

Michael is furious and grabs Nate. He suspects that Nate knew that the Amber Room was destroyed the entire time and was being deceitful. Rose grabs the gun out of her brother's hand and points towards a door.  A door to Hollow Earth maybe?

Nate comments that maybe Byrd was on to something. Rose and Nate looks closer at the door and the drawings on it. It's a map of the underworld. There is a drawing of the "second sun". Michael tells the guards to keep an eye on Nate and Chloe before he heads back to the destroyed pieces of the Amber Room. Rose approaches him and tells him about what can behind the doors. Michael won't let the destroyed Amber Room and broken dream go. Rose attempts to explain that there is something bigger to find, which is the "second Sun" and it's legend. If a person touches this second sun, they will know the secrets of the universe. The siblings argue about being trapped underground and the legend, while Nate and Chloe investigate the map further.  They find a gem on the floor, with the light from the flashlight, it opens the door. The two decide to sneak through before they get caught, but they spoke too soon. The guards that were on babysitting duty attempt to stop the treasure hunters, but are easily knocked out.

Michael and Rose leave the tent, still arguing about their situation. Michael is ready to leave, but Rose is determined to stay to look for the Hollow Earth. Michael complains that she's starting to sound like Nathan Drake and points to where they left him. They notice the empty spot and open door. They won't get away that easily! They follow behind our two heroes. Nate and Chloe catch Michael screams, and continue forward. But Chloe stops to inspect a drawing on the wall. It depicts the arrival of Byrd along with legend of the "Smokey Gods".  They wonder if the doors were meant to keep something inside.

The group of bad guys caught back up to Chloe and Nate, making the two run deeper into the cave. The two are running toward a light and discover a pit of lava. The only way to cross is a plane acting as a bridge. There are only two options, Face the Doughtys or cross the bridge. While they climb down to the plane bridge, Chloe asks about why the Doughtys hate Nate so much. He explains about their ancestors and the grudge. Nate asks a question of his own, which is why she's here. She makes up a few excuses before asking why they even brought her along. Here comes a flash back. It was right before they left for the North Pole. Nate and Sully are discussing about if they should trust the girl, but Nate has a feeling that they can trust this random girl.

Back to the present again, and Nate and Chloe are past the bridge. Chloe continues on, but without paying close attention to where she walks, she falls down a hole. Nate climbs down the hole to the bottom, finding a rope midway to help get down and finds Chloe laying unconscious.

Chloe is alright and gets up. They question about the rope, but the Doughty's have caught up. Michael tells them that this adventure is over, he is ready to get his revenge. The final panel reveals sets of red eyes watching the group.

My thoughts-

Since this is a short series, so Paige's final opinion will be on the final issue. As for me I'm entertained by the story and Chloe's antics here and there. I'm not sure how much leeway there are between the comics adventures and the games, but this could have been an ongoing series, or at least had a second mini-series that takes place after Uncharted 2 and maybe another after part 3.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
