Uncharted Comic Series #6

By Mark Rodriguez (Originally written by Paige)

Rose has obtained her ultimate goal but now Nathan and Chloe are surrounded by lava, how are they going to get out?

Before Nate, Chloe and Sully arrived at the North Pole, Chloe asks about if he regrets anything, like not leading a "normal" life. He laughs asking what she means by normal and she says a regular job. He explains treasure hunting is his normal job and points out that instead of being stuck in front of a desk, he's heading to the North Pole.

Now he's probably regretting the idea. Stuck underground and being "chased" by lava. And what makes it worse is the fact that the entrance was destroyed by Chloe to stop the Smokey Gods. And speaking of the creatures, they appear, making their escape harder.  They're surrounded, but Nate takes one out and the two run toward a cave. All the Smokey Gods get surrounded by the lava, killing them. Chloe and Nate make it to the cave and they continue running past the plane bridge towards Byrd's camp. The two take a break, wondering if Sully fixed the plane. Nate asks if she is ok, and she jokes that there are no regrets. Out of no where, a Smokey God appears and attempts to attack Chloe, but Nate stops him.

Anyway, Nate jokes "How did you survive before me." The floor beneath Nate collapses and he's trapped in a pool of lava. Chloe has no way to save him, but she comes up with a plan and leaves. Nate jumps from rock to rock and lands on a plane. Nate asks himself again why he gets himself in these kinds of predicaments. As the time goes by, the space that Nate has on the plane shrinks, he ends up on the tail of the plane. He believes these are the last moments...and a loud noise appears. Nate wonders if it's...

Sully's plane appears, Chloe leaving out the door waiting to grab Nate. She rescues him and pulls him into the plane. The group flies away from the lava pit, but there is no place to land and no way to get out.  Then suddenly sunlight! The plane heads toward this glimmer of hope. The group emerges from a volcano! The plane is going down.

Nate wakes up on a beach, while Chloe and Sully helps him up. Nate asks where they are, and Sully jokes that he's hoping it's some place that has a bar. The group spends the night drinking, while some dialog box has Chloe talking with her contact, telling the person to meet at the rendezvous point. But before she goes, she "spends the night" with Nate before she leaves him. No regrets.

Nate meets up with Sully at a peer. Sully asks where Chloe is, even though Nate explains she left, Sully knows that wasn't the last time they would see her. The two get on the boat that Sully bought and they leave the island.

Paige's Opinion-

Here is my full opinion for the comic series. The comic has all the adventures and predicaments Nate always faces in the games. When I read the comics I would hear the character's voices. The comic has all the action you'd expect Nathan to come across his treasure hunting adventure.

The art was really good. Now they should base a game on this comic! :) I would love to play it! Or they should make make more comics! But anyway, when I first saw this comic, I was too late on buying the series, so I had to wait till the trade paper back came out to be able to read the series.

One thing I wonder is, who is the other girl on the cover? I always thought it was Elena Fisher, but she was not in the actual comic. I don't think it's Rose either.

I would recommend this comic series to the fan of the actual game series.

Mark's thoughts-

Good story and good art. This is pretty much set between the first two Uncharted games, so it kinda serves to explain how they met Chloe before Uncharted 2. I think it would have been cool to have another mini-series that would take place between Uncharted 2 and 3, an maybe another one between 3 and 4.

As for Paige's question, I think that is Elena Fisher on the cover, it's just that the artist probably didn't get the memo that she wasn't in this story. Whoops!

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
