Marvel's Civil War II # 7

 By Mark Rodriguez

When a new Inhuman named Ulysses learns her has the power to predict the future, Captain Marvel chooses to use it to stop disasters before they start, while Iron Man wonders if they should tamper with the future. These visions have led to a battle with Thanos that cost War Machine his life, Hawkeye killing Bruce Banner with an arrow specially prepared if he were to turn into the Hulk again, and an innocent woman being arrested for being suspected of working for HYDRA. The last vision predicted that Miles Morales would kill Steve Rogers. After losing favor with Black Panther and the Inhumans, Carol still wants to go after Miles. Maria Hill told her that they have located him.

Medusa and Karnak approached Ulysses who seems to be zoned out. Medusa tells him that the Ulitmates want him to get more tests since his powers have been evolving rapidly and his visions have become more off-putting. Ulysses is still lost in his own world and won't speak.

Ulysses finds himself in a desert, and it feels as if he's really there this time and not just a vision. Just then he is approached by a huge green man in overalls, that is about to eat him. Before he does so, he gets stabbed from behind by Old Man Logan and gets torn apart. Ulysses asks if that was the Hulk, Logan tells him it's one of his kids, and he took care of the real Hulk some time ago.

Logan is ready to head off and Ulysses asks if he's Wolverine. Logan ignores that and gets on his horse. Ulysses asks him what year it is, since he's lost and it not supposed to be here. Somehow he has entered the alternate timeline from where Old Man Logan came from.

Miles Morales Spider-Man waits in front of the Capitol Building when police arrive and hold their guns at him. Miles tells them not to shoot and the cops tell him to take off his mask. Miles apologizes and tells them he can't.

Logan asks Ulysses what he is, and he tells him that he's an Inhuman. Logan tells him he must have 'missed the last bus' since all the Inhumans left the planet 'when the world still looked like the world'. It seems the desert they're in used to be New Jersey. Ulysses asked why they left and what happened to the world. Logan says that 'Tony Stark happened' which shocks him.

The SHIELD Helicarrier is arriving towards Washington DC where they see Spider-Man surrounded by cops on live TV. Maria says the last thing they need is a big superhero brawl to go down in front of the Capitol Building. Carol says they also don't need Spider-Man killing Captain America on live TV. Maria says if the Lincoln Memorial gets busted they'll all be looking for new jobs, from their prison cells. Carol says she got this.

The cops continue to tell Miles to get on the ground and take off his mask. They get the order from Maria Hill to stand down and leave the kid alone. The cops gets in their cars and leave, just as Captain America, Steve Rogers, arrives.

Ulysses wants to know what 'Tony Stark happened' means, and Logan demands to know who he really is. Energy vines start to surround Ulysses, meaning he's going to return, and he wants to know what Tony Stark did. Logan says everyone knows what he did, he pushed 'her' too far. Ulysses asks 'her who?' as he's being called by Medusa and Karnak in the real world.

Ulysses finally wakes up and asks how long he was gone. The others tell him he didn't go anywhere, as he was just standing there the whole time. Karnak asks what he saw. Ulysses says he was told that Tony pushed 'her' too far and asks if there's any way to stop Captain Marvel from going after Iron Man. She has to stop fighting Tony over him now.

Spider-Man tells Cap that he isn't going to kill him. Cap says he knows and asks why he's here. Miles says that it's probably the same reason that the Cap is here, to prove that this vision won't happen. Both of them talk, still feeling uneasy and awkward about this vision predicting their death battle.

Carol arrives and tells Miles that he needs to be taken somewhere safe just to make sure that nothing happened. As she reaches out to take his hand, an energy field forms around him. Both are confused because neither of them are doing it. Carol angrily calls out for Stark.

Iron Man appears in a huge War Machine suit and tells her it was her last chance to back off. He socks her and she blocks it telling him the same blast that took her down the other day won't stop this time thanks to Blue Marvel helping her. The two fight it out with Miles begging them to stop. Captain Marvel blasts right through Iron Man's suit, much to the shock of Captain America and Spider-Man!!

My opinions-

Well this was interesting.... Ulysses somehow ends up in the alternate reality where Old Man Logan comes from. For those that don't know, in this bleak future where it seems Logan is the only X-Men left standing, it seems that um..... Hulk and She Hulk messed around and had a lot of inbred children that go around killing people. There are hints of this bleak future in the Logan movie, but at the time Sony owned the X-Men and they weren't part of the MCU, that movie was strictly a bad X-Men future while the original comic version was a bad overall Marvel Universe future, with characters like the Hulk, Hawkeye and the Red Skull being featured. No X-23, I don't even think her character was a concept back then.

At this point in time in the comics, our Wolverine is still dead, encased in adamantium at a time where his healing powers were failing. I'm not sure how the alternate future Old Man Logan wound up in the 616 Marvel, but here we are.

I think Cap and Spidey should have just stayed home. They went to Capitol Building as the vision told them, but nothing happened, and I don't know what exactly they were expecting to happen. Was one of them suddenly going to fly into a blind rage and attack the other?

Well, we'll soon see how all of this ends, but I do have to say, I'm loving this story. Though both sides have valid points, it all seems to point to Carol being 'wrong' due to her explosive temper, but damn, does Tony know how to push her buttons. He really should have stayed out of this one, especially if Miles did choose to agree to accept her help. It looks like all of this is going to boil down to Iron Man VS Captain Marvel. Let's see how this ends.

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...

Goshawk and Falconet # 1 (heavy spoilers so beware!)

By Mark Rodriguez Brought to you by the same studios that brought you Arachna # 1 and 2, we get a brand new superhero duo, Goshawk and Falconet. Let's check it out. The story opens with Goshawk and Falconet soaring through the sky just above Santa Monica Bay. They fly towards a ship that is being robbed. Goshawk tells her to secure the cargo while he keeps the guards busy.  The robbers are working for a villain named Black Parrot. Goshawk lands between two of them and bashes their heads together. Just then a third man pulls a gun on him from behind. Goshawk retracts his wings which knocks the gun out of the man's hand. Goshawk knocks the guy out while Falconet kicks the guy protecting the cargo. Falconet uses one of her claws to pick the padlock and finds a room full of captured women. She assures them that they're alright now. On the lower decks, Black Parrot and a woman named Secretarybird think their mission is a success. With the harbormaster being bought and paid for ...
