Justice League # 7 (2018)

By Mark Rodriguez

The Totality headed towards Earth with the knowledge to either save or destroy the universe, possibly the multiverse. Luthor and Joker have miniaturized themselves and taken control of Superman and Martian Manhunter so they could gain access to this power. Once Luthor got close enough to the Totality, he sent everyone away. Meanwhile, Sintestro has an army attacking the Hall of Justice and John Stewart drives Flash's Flashmobile around the world to show humanity how to fight against his influence. Hawkwoman lunges to attack Luthor as the planet Earth now has the symbol of the Totality branded across its surface. Now what will happen?

The Totality- Conclusion opens with Vandal Savage back in the dawn of man. He was known Vandaa, the Judge, and he watched as man evolved. One day he saw the Totality fly past and realized what it meant, even back then.

Hawkwoman and Luthor would fight it out, and Luthor is confused how the doorknob isn't warping he away, and why her wings are glowing with energy. Hawkwoman swings her mighty mace sending Luthor flying back. Luthor refused to stay down and he punches Kendra back. He is determined to take the Totality as he feels it calling to him.

John speeds across the planet and sees that Earth itself has become a White Lantern since it deals with human life, both good and bad. Manhunter tries to keep humanity connected and Flash taps into the Still Force even though it goes against they way his body is built. John says Flash can do this and he has to try to slow his body down to a complete stop.

Sinestro comes in and smashes the windshield of the Flashmobile. He tells John he has doomed millions of live like he did on Xanshi and shows him the spirit of Hal Jordan. Earth was to become part of the evil sun Umbrax, but now it will destroy it.

Superman sees the planets surrounding Earth looking like they're going to fire upon it. Cyborg says there's not much he can do in his weakened state, but Superman flies off to try anyway.

Flash focuses on slowing his body down to the last cell to tap into the Still Force. Just then the underwater base is hit again by an underwater vehicle piloted by Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd and Cheetah. With one more blast they'll take the base down with Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman still inside. Wonder Woman sends Aquaman to hold off the villains while she stays to support Flash.

Aquaman is able to call forth giant sharks that block the missiles fired by the villains. The water vessel is too close and the explosion sends it flying back and out of control, sending the bad guys back.

Lex tells the Totality that he doesn't know what Hawkwoman has to do with this, but she doesn't have his plans for its power. Hawkwoman rams a blade right through Luthor's shoulder.

Superman is using his X-Ray field to deflect some of the energy of the Ultraviolet Spectrum, but he's going to die if he continues doing this. John fight off Sinestro as Manhunter fights to keep his connection to humanity as they ask Flash to close the door on Umbrax.

Flash finally reaches complete stillness and he can see the secret machinery of the universe, living inside the Totality. Hawkwoman reaches out to touch it. Flash can see everything and feels exactly what Vandal Savage felt back then, the urge to turn back and hide what he sees. This isn't who the Flash is now and he must push on as the cosmic membrane closes.

Sinestro is surprised that the dimensional void bringing Umbrax to Earth is now closed. He says he would have made John his Paladin in the greatest corps in the universe, but he's always been a foot soldier. John says he's also an architech as he drops a building on him, made of Lantern energy.

Luthor reaches towards the Totality saying that it calls to him as Hawkwoman reaches out to finally make contact. Everything flashes white and Luthor is warped back to the Headquarters of the Legion of Doom. Luthor tells Joker to call everybody back. Sinestro, Manta, Grodd and Cheetah are warped back to their hideout.

Superman sees that the cosmic membrane is closed and the skies are back to being bright and blue. With the heroes still connected to each other, they poke fun at Batman and Batman says they're lucky he can't move. Mahunter asks what happened to Kendra.

Hawkwoman is inside the Totality and ponders the significance of the power to save the multiverse. She wonders if they should dare to possess all this power and knowledge as she is literally holding it in her hands.

Later at the Hall of Justice, Hawkwoman has taken the Totality there for the Justice League to guard, especially since now the villains have formed a legion. Hawkwoman is confused why her wings were made of energy and are now back to normal and healing. The Flash saw a lot of things in the Still Force but can't properly describe them.

Manhunter wants to visit Thanagar Prime and find out what secrets the Martian Keeper of Memory has been hiding. He wants John and Kendra to join him. John isn't sure since he still has to discover how his new ring works. Manhunter says he forgives him for what happened at Xanshi and says he couldn't let go because he couldn't forgive himself. Superman asks Manhunter what was really scaring him and to be open with everyone. Manhunter says he's worried about what they'll discover once they look into the Totality. What if it reveals that the true nature of the world is to be cold and evil and they were one holding everyone back. What if all this time the Justice League were the villains. Batman says they will just have to 'Justice Harder'.

Wonder Woman tells Aquaman that she is concerned about the Legionnaire Club that had technology similar to Amazon and Atlantean tech. She's also curious as to what Cheetah and Grodd were doing there if they weren't after them? Aquaman says that Mera now has the throne at Atlantis but he will warn his people. Wonder Woman also no longer has a place at Themyscira, but she will still warn her people.

Just then someone appears at the Hall of Justice saying that they will lose. The person says his name is Starman. He comes from the past and holds the secrets they seek, but three of them will have to die.

Luthor is angry at his loss and breaks the staff that used to belong to Vandal Savage. He feels the Totality wanted more from him. It needs him to unlock things that are much more profound and dangerous. Luthor sees The Batman Who Laughs, who he has chained up in a secret room and says he needs his help after all. The Batman Who Laughs is a Jokerized version of Batman from the dark Multiverse who has gone insane and killed almost everyone in his own universe. He says he thought he'd never ask.

My Opinions-

This was an intense issue as it feels like all hell was breaking loose everywhere all at once. I mean, our planet became a White Lantern and was about to be attacked by a living Evil Sun. Most of humanity is being possessed by the Ultraviolet Spectrum and Superman is risking his life to stop them. Flash is tapping into the Still Force. Martian Manhunter is connected to most of humanity. Luthor is inches away from touching the Totality and Hawkwoman is doing whatever she can to stop him. It's insanity, and it's all happening at once.

I did enjoy the issue, especially since Hawkwoman and Luthor got some focus. Luthor is such a smug entitled jerk, it's satisfying to see Hawkwoman run him through with that blade. He's the kind of guy you just want to see his plans fail.

The story is far from over. The Justice League owns the Totality which basically plants a huge target on them. Luthor, as far as I know, still has that doorknob. Cheetah and Manta still have the treasures they stole and they still haven't shown all 7 of these treasures. And now they got an alternate dimensional version of Batman who has the insanity of the Joker and the cunning mind of the Joker with them? This story might have concluded but the deal with the Totality, the Source Wall and the Multiverse dying still continues.

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
