Justice League # 6 (2018)

By Mark Rodriguez

Lex Luthor traveled to the future and found a timeline where people worship his memory as everyone lives as their true selves, regardless of how dark their true nature may be. They consider Luthor a Great Tragedy since the truth about Doom that he unleashed was something he never discovered during his lifetime. As Luthor returned to his own time, he discovered the Totality and recruited several villains to form his own Legion of Doom. Now as the Totality has hit Earth, Luthor controls Superman's body as he heads towards the infinite knowledge it contains.

The Totality Part 5 with the Joker controlling Martian Manhunter's body ready to embrace the Totality and make the world laugh with him.

Elsewhere Cyborg and Green Lantern see how the living sun, Umbrax is growing more powerful as Sinestro enlists half of the entire population into his Ultraviolet Corps. If they don't stop this soon, Earth itself will become a giant evil planet as well. Sinestro and his army invade the Hall of Justice as he tells John Stewart to join him.

Joker and Luthor make Martian Mahunter and Superman go closer to the Totality. Inside of Superman, Batman smashes into Lex's pod. Luthor was sure Superman's cells ate him, but Batman reveals he had a Kryptonite Ring that saved him. Batman says he will hurt Luthor and take that doorknob he is holding. Luthor says Batman is a simple city detective and he current situation is bigger than he is, but the Dark Knight still leaps in to attack.

In the Underwater Legionnaire Base, Flash is down and tells Grodd to stop his attack. Grodd says he has dreamed of this moment for this and with the Still Force at his command, Flash won't be able to move. Grodd walks off and asks Cheetah and Black Manta is they got what they came for.

Black Manta and Cheetah find the Key to the Graveyard of the Gods and the Tear of Sacrifice, which are more of the seven energies that can reshape the universe. Cheetah asks why Manta seems angry that now they have the means to crush the enemies. Manta says he's upset that Cheetah and him didn't get to go first.

Batman tackles Luthro down and he tosses the doorknob and calls Joker for help. Joker sends Manhunter after Superman. Joker uses Manhunter's shapeshifting fingers to pierce into Superman's brain, managing to slice into Batman. Batman calls for Hawkwoman to regain control of Manhunter as he tries to stop Luthor. Joker says the saw he sliced her with was laced with his best toxins. Regardless, Hawkwoman gets up and cracks Joker upside the head. She tells Batman that her wings feel strange and Batman says it must be Manhunter's body reacting to the Totality. Hawkwoman tries to regain control as Batman wrestles with Luthor, preventing him from getting a hold of the doorknob.

Luthor manages to grab the doorknob as Superman and Manhunter finally obtain the power of the Totality. Luthor says now Batman can go. Superman, Martian Manhunter and Batman are warped back to the Hall Justice with Batman's legs being horribly mangled. John notices that Hawkwoman didn't come back with them. Manhunter tells Cyborg and John that Luthor beat them to the Totality. Flash messages Cyborg and tells him that the Still Force is too strong and he needs them to warp Wonder Woman, Aquaman and himself back to the Hall of Justice. Cyborg says they might not have a home to come to as they try desperately to keep their forcefields up as Sinestro's army continues to get past their defenses.

The Justice League blame themselves for everything that had happened. John says if it weren't for Cyborg blocking him, he would have lost control and turned back in an Ultraviolet Lantern. Cyborg says he's not blocking him since he is using all his power on keeping the forcefields up. Cyborg realizes when he came clean about his feelings regarding what happened on planet Xanshi, that maybe they're not meant to fight against the forces of the Ultraviolet Spectrum or the Still Force, but accept them and use them. He figures he needs a way to show the people how to accept this power and use it as their strength and Flash can help him get across the world fast enough.

Joker is teleported back to the Legion of Doom HQ. He feels happier than he's been in a while and wishes everyone a goodnight.

Superman offers to help Lantern get past Sinestro's forces, while Batman gets his legs in a cast. Superman tosses the Flashmobile with John inside it. The Flash focuses on slowing his body down as Manhunter focuses on connecting his mind with humanity, trying to show them the weakness in themselves. Sinestro sends his forces after Superman.

Meanwhile Manta and Cheetah are in an underwater vehicle and open fire on the underwater base. Aquaman says the base can't handle another hit like that. As Manhunter connects to everyone he realizes that Luthor is right, but maybe humanity can acknowledge their nature together. Flash slows down and sees people. Luthor is about to touch the doorknob to the Totality, but suddenly the doorknob glows blue. Hawkwoman lunges towards Luthor, ready to swing her mace, her wings now made of energy.

John Stewart drives around the planet at top speed and notices that the planet is glowing brighter, but not with a green light. The Joker realizes another force had just made a better joke than him. He figures sometimes you slay, sometimes you bomb, but that's life. Earth now has the symbol of the Totality shining upon its surface.

My Opinions-

Last issue was a side story and this one continues right where issue 4 left off. I did like seeing Batman beat the crap out of Luthor, though I wish the story would stop trying to cram so many things into one issue and actually show more action. Where we last left our heroes in the underwater base, Grodd was using his powers to make Wonder Woman and Aquaman see each other as Cheetah and Black Manta, making them attack each other without realizing it. This issue's cover also showcases this. But then the comic just shows the aftermath as Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Flash were already down and defeated. If this was an animated movie, you know they would devoted a few minutes of Wondie and Aquaman beating the hell out of each other.

The first page showcased the Joker and how no one, not even himself knows who he was before he became the Clown Prince of Crime. Was he always the evil Red Hood, or was he the down on his luck comedian like in The Killing Joke. Was he a disturbed child, or a normal kid? I did like how all those different possible origins of him were referenced. I'm just not terribly fond of this artistic representation of him. Also... did Joker force Manhunter's fingers through Superman's eyes? How did Supes get them back?

I wonder if we'll see all 7 of these treasures. We've seen the Still Force and the Ultraviolet Spectrum, and I guess now the Key to the Graveyard of the Gods and the Tear of Sacrifice. What do the last two items do, and what are the remaining three treasures?

Things are heating up all over the place but despite everything, the heroes still have a lot of fight left in them. I am looking forward to seeing Kendra attack Luthor, providing it's not just one panel.

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
