NWA Powerrr Season 11 Ep 6/NWA Wrestling Christmas Special 12/23/2022-12/24/2022 (Women's Matches)

 By Mark Rodriguez

The Champion Series continues as KiLynn King is now on Team Rebelion and will be facing off against Allysin Kay. Then we get a Christmas Special as Ella Envy and Roxy face The Renegade Twins!

Match 1- KiLynn King (Team Rebelion) VS Allysin Kay (Team Tyrus)

Both women grapple and try to push the other against the ropes. Allysin flips KiLynn to the mat but she is still hanging on. They both roll along the mat, neither giving up, even going outside of the ring. They continue to try to over-power each other, even going among the members of Team Rebelion sitting in the crowd. They finally break away when they're up against the apron, and they climb back into the ring.

KiLynn calls for a Test of Strength and Allysin goes for it. As both competitors try to overpower each other, KiLynn falls back and vaults KiLynn over her with her legs. KiLynn goes for the pin but purposely raises Allysin's arm to stop the count. She then grabs Allysin in the Crossface, but she goes for the ropes to break the hold.

KiLynn lands a few shots on Allysin as she recovers and flings her towards the ropes. Allysin shoulder tackles KiLynn to the mat. Both women towards each other and KiLynn kicks Allysin in the midsection. Both women try to suplex each other, with Allysin managing to slam KiLynn down first. Allysin goes for the pin but KiLynn shoves her off.

Allysin charges towards KiLynn but she bumps into the ring post as her opponent leaps over the ropes and gets on the ring apron. KiLynn lands some shots on her and then goes for the ropes. With Allysin hanging on the ropes, KiLynn leaps off and kicks her in the face, making her fall out of the ring. KiLynn gets onto the ring apron and tries to hit her with her knee but Allysin blocks it. KiLynn goes for a kick but Allysin blocks that too. She then pulls KiLynn's leg out from under her, making her fall backwards onto the ring apron.

KiLynn rolls back into the ring, now with her back in pain. Allysin climbs back into the ring as well and stomps her across her injured back. Allysin sets KiLynn up against the ropes and starts shoulder-ramming her in the back. She grabs KiLynn and slams her face into the turbuckle on the next corner of the ring. She then sets her up for a harsh chop across the chest. She goes for a second chop but KiLynn ducks under it and fires back with a chop of her own.

Allysin goes to the other side of the ring and KiLynn follows but gets kicked in the midsection. Allysin then grabs her and just slams her face-first into the mat. Allysin goes for a submission hold but KiLynn is too close to the ropes. She grabs onto them, stopping Allysin before she even had a chance to lock in the hold. Allysin hits her in the face and picks her up. KiLynn slides out of her grasp and knocked her down with a clothesline to the back of the head.

Allysin tries to punch KiLynn, but The Majesty of Muscle manages to block both of her attempts and hits her right back. She then knocks Allysin down with a clothesline. KiLynn grabs Allysin's arm and hits her with a chop across the chest. With Allysin up against the ropes, KiLynn hits her with a running elbow strike. She tries again but Allysin gets out of the way, letting her collide with the ring post.

With KiLynn up against the ring post, Allysin runs towards her. KiLynn tries to grab her for a Sunset Flip, but she is caught by Allysin. Allysin just lets herself drop, crushing KiLynn under her and she goes for the pin. KiLynn kicks out. Allysin tries to get her ready for the AK-47, but KiLynn slips from her grasp and socks her in the face. KiLynn takes this chance to hit her with a German Suplex. She goes for the pin but Allysin kicks out.

KiLynn tries to go for another suplex but Allysin drops to the mat and trips her down by ankle. She then grabs KiLynn in a submission hold and this time she is far from the ropes. KiLynn grabs onto Allysin's hands and tries to muscle her way out of the hold. Allysin lets her go but starts raining hammer punches onto her opponent's back. She then grabs her legs and tries to go for a leglock submission. KiLynn manages to kicks her off.

Both competitors get to their feet. KiLynn ducks a punch from Allysin and hits her with a Roundhouse Kick. With Allysin rocked, KiLynn grabs her in an armdrag and pulls her towards the middle of the ring. She gets her in the Crossface and with there being nowhere to go, Allysin has no choice but to tap out. KiLynn King scores eight points for Team Rebelion as they continue to advance in Round Two of the Champion Series.

Match 2- Pretty Empowered VS The Renegade Twins

The match starts with Ella getting into Robyn's face and mouthing off. Robyn asks if she's the biggest jobber on the roster. This gets Ella angry and she tags in Roxy, telling her to go get her. As Roxy gets into the ring and is distracted by Ella yelling at her, making her fall victim to Robyn's side headlock. Roxy manages to shove her against the ropes but Robyn knocks her down with a shoulder tackle. As Robyn runs towards the ropes, Roxy tries to get her in an armdrag, but her opponent armdrags her instead.

Robyn sends Roxy into the ropes with a vicious missile dropkick. Robyn hits her with a running elbow and tags in her sister Charlette. Charlette hits her with a running elbow and then holds her in place so that Robyn can run in and elbow her too. Charlette gets her in a snapmare and goes for the pin, but Roxy kicks out. Charlette slams Roxy's face into the top turnbuckle and tags her sister in. Robyn grabs Roxy by the face and talks smack before she chops her twice across the chest.

Robyn gets pumped and runs for the ropes for Ella hits her in the back. Robyn gets in her face and Ella distracts the ref. As Robyn turns her attention back towards her opponent, Roxy knocks her down with a superkick to the face. Roxy runs over to tag Ella in, who quickly rushes in to pin Robyn. Robyn kicks out. Ella keeps her from tagging in her twin and whips her towards the ringpost on her corner of the ring. Ella runs into her with a Hip Attack and then starts stomping on her. Ella presses her boot up against Robyn's throat and tags in Roxy. Roxy hammer punches Robyn to the mat as she's trying to reach out to her sister.

Roxy gets Robyn in a snapmare and follows up with a running kick to the spine. Roxy hits her with a high knee strike and then sends her over to the ropes. Robyn hangs off the ropes and Roxy runs behind her, hitting her with double knees to the back of the neck. She then hangs onto the ropes and bend backwards, pressing both knees up against Robyn, putting pressure on her throat up against the ropes. Roxy goes for the pin but Robyn finds the strength to kick out.

Roxy gets Robyn in a read chin lock. Robyn manages to fight her way out of it and gets her with a jawbreaker. She goes for a kick but Roxy catches her foot. Robyn spins and kicks her with her other leg, knocking Roxy down. Robyn takes this chance to tag in Charlette who quickly knocks Roxy down with a clothesline. Charlette knocks her down a second time, and Ella runs in to help her partner. Charlette picks Ella up and slams her down, making her roll out of the ring. The Renegade Twin knocks Roxy down and goes for the Ground and Pound.

Charlette grabs Roxy with a Fishermen Suplex with a bridge pin, but Ella runs in to hit her and break it up. Ella tries to help Roxy up but Robyn grabs her and tosses her out of the ring. The Renegade Twins both pick up Roxy for a double slam but Ella runs in behind them and catches her partner and sets her down safely. As the twins turn around, Ella and Roxy knock them both down with pump kicks.

Kenzie Page distracts the ref while Ella rushes in and clocks Charlette in the face with the Tag Team Title belt. Charlette is out old and Ella gets Roxy over to her corner and calls the ref so he can see her tag in. Ella rushes over and pins Charlette and scores the win. Kenzie runs in to celebrate with Ella (Kenzie and Ella are the actual Pretty Empowered team members and Tag Team Champs) and when Roxy joins them, Kenzie shoves her aside so only the Tag Champs are basking in the glory.

My Thoughts-

Great pair of matches. It seems KiLynn switches from Team Fixers over to Team Rebelion and helped them score the win. I liked the lock up and that took both women outside the ring and back again. Allysin is an awesome opponent for KiLynn and they both fought hard. KiLynn is definitely adding the Crossface to her arsenal of finishers, so now the opponent had more to worry about than just the Excalibuster and the Kingdowm Falls. I love how she keeps adding more and more moves to her repertoire. It makes her wins unpredictable because she can beat you in so many ways.

We also see the Renegade Twins make their NWA debut, which is a good way to see them in a longer match. They have been seen on Dark and Dark Elevation, either in solo matches or tag matches, but here we get more of a chance to see their moves. And unlike AEW Dark, they commentary here actually bothered to tell Robyn and Charlette apart and correctly keep tabs on which one is in the ring at all times.

Pretty Empowered continue to be cowardly and annoying heels, with Ella yelling and complaining through most of the match and then scoring the dirty win with the tag belt to the face. To top it off, Kenzie comes in to celebrate as if she did anything (in the actual match anyway) shoving poor Roxy to the side.

We'll see what happens next as Kenzie Page is on her way to challenge NWA Champ Kamille for the title. The Christmas Special seems to have replaced this week's NWA USA, but we won't find out until we see if next Saturday skips an episode number or continues where it last left off. From what I saw, none of the matches during the special were part of the Champion Series. Stay tuned as we check out the next episode of NWA Powerrr as the Champion Series continues.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
