AEW Dark Elevation- Episode 92B/93 12/10/2022-12/12-2022 (Women's Wrestling)

 By Mark Rodriguez

We got an extra Athena match on Saturday, a last minute episode the same day as Ring of Honor Final Battle. We also get to see Willow Nightingale and Emi Sakura in action today. Let's check them out.

Match 1- Athena vs Madi Wrenkowski

Both women grapple and Athena gets Madi up against the ropes. The crowd cheers for Madi and Athena goes for another grapple, but knocks her down with a sucker punch. Athena taunts her and goes for the ground and pound. Madi kicks Athena off her and goes for the roll up pin. Athena kicks out and Madi hits her in the chest. Athena angrily chops her back, sending Madi up against the ropes. Athena lights her up and then starts hitting her across the back. Athena slams Madi down with a brainbuster suplex and then gets her in a crossface.

Madi kicks out and Athena wins the match. In true Athena fashion, she doesn't let go of Madi until whenever she feels like it, despite the bell ringing. She then gets into the referee's face. She then run and boots Madi out of the ring with a sliding dropkick. Athena gets out of the ring and grabs her, running her into the barricade.

Athena then gets gets her back to her feet, only to crack her with a discuss lariat. The ref steps in and Athena finally leaves, making the gesture that she will be the champ soon after her upcoming match with Mercedes Martinez. Turns out, she was right.

Match 2- Emi Sakura vs Danni Bee

The crowd cheers for Danni as she extends her hand towards Emi. Emi just strokes her hair and does her anime laugh. Danni doesn't take kindly to this and grabs her. She starts pounding away at her and then slams her with a spinning neckbreaker. She runs off the ropes and hits her with a dropkick to the face. Danni poses towards the crowd, taking her eyes off of Emi. Emi gets up and grabs her by the hair. She then knocks Danni down with a chop.

Don't take your eyes off her!!

Emi gets her up against the ropes and starts throwing the 'We Will Rock You' chops. She then hits her with the flying crossbody which makes Danni fall into a heap. Emi grabs her for a delayed vertical position and gives her a nice view of all 4 corners of the ring. She then slams her down into a gut buster. Emi gets her into a violent looking Dragon Sleeper and Danni taps out. Emi wins the match and celebrates with the ref.

Emi Sakura really likes this ref

Match 3- Willow Nightingale vs Vertvixen

Both women grapple and Willow grabs onto Vertvixen's hand and waves her wave to the crowd. Vertvixen grabs her by the hair and slams her to the mat. She then starts kicking her towards the ropes. Vertvixen tries to whip Willow towards the ropes but her opponent does a cartwheel. Vertvixen tries to hit her, but Willow gets her into a snapmare. She then knocks her down with a body splash which she uses as a pin. Vertvixen kicks out.

Willow whips Vertvixen towards the ropes and runs into her with a back elbow. Willow runs at her again and this time Vertvixen flips and rolls out of the way. She manages to trip Willow down and then slam her with a face buster. She then kicks and punches Willow across the back and grabs her by the hair. Willow kicks her in the midsection. She then holds onto her arm and knocks her down with three clothelines in a row. With Vertvixen up against the ropes, Willow hits her with a hip attack followed by an uppercut. Willow sends her to the ropes and as Vertvixen runs back at her, she gets dropped by a bit boot to the face. Willow is fired up.

Willow runs towards Vertvixen, and gets kicked in the face. With Willow knocked away, Vertvixen runs at her. Willow grabs her and slams her with a spinebuster. She pins her down and gets the win. However, as she celebrates her victory, Tay Melo and Anna Jay suddenly run to the ring and sneak up behind her.

Better watch your six, Willow!!

Tay hits Willow from behind and then starts stomping all over her alongside Anna Jay. Ruby Soho runs to the ring with a steel pipe and the members of the JAS retreat. Tay taunts the fact that she once broke Ruby's nose as she leaves with Anna Jay. Willow and Ruby watch them and are ready to fight.

My thoughts-

We got to see a few familiar faces her, Madi Wrenkowski and Vertvixen made their returns to Dark. Madi saw the worst of it though, pretty much being a punching bag for the violent heel Athena. Athena was at her most vicious here, especially after the bell rung. Here's hoping we see more of Madi though.

Vertvixen got to show some good offense against Willow, and I hope we get to see more of her. It seems the women of the JAS have started to pick on Willow. Maybe we'll get a tag match between Willow and Ruby taking on Tay Melo and Anna Jay soon?

Emi Sakura had a short match. Danni Bee did get a strong showing at first and got the crowd behind her. Emi basically went in for the kill this time, so there wasn't much time for her antics. She sure does love sitting on that ref's lap though, and he's having none of it.

As for Ring of Honor Final Battle, we got to see Willow go against Trish Adora. Fighting in front of a bigger crowd got more eyes on Trish and she did give Willow a decent fight. Hopefully this helps gets her higher up on AEW's rankings.

Athena did defeat Mercedes Martinez and became the new Ring of Honor Woman's champ. My only question is where does this leave Mercedes?

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
