AEW Dark Special- Feb 10, 2022/ AEW Rampage 2/11/2022 Women's Matches

 By Mark Rodriguez

So I guess there was a lot of Dark Matches this week, so many that they added 4 extra matches sometime during Dynamite or Rampage. We got one Dark Women's Match, but I'll also be covering  this week's Women's Match from AEW Rampage, so we have at least 3 matches to cover. Let's check em out. I might do that again if we ever get random stuff like this again or if there is only one women's match on AEW Dark or Dark Elevation.

Match 1- Gia Scott vs Abadon- AEW Dark Special

Gia tries to grab Abadon from behind and hits her on the back of the head. This has no effect on The Living Dead Girl who turns around and smacks Gia to the mat. Abadon grabs her and slams her face multiple times onto the mat until the ref breaks it up. With Gia up against the turnbuckle, Abadon comes in and starts throwing punches at her. Gia switches places with her and starts throwing some punches of her own.

Abadon kicks her back but this doesn't stop Gia. Abadon grabs her with a headscissors and leaps off the turnbuckle to do a headscissors takedown. As Gia is still sitting on the mat, Abadon clocks with her a running elbow. Gia manages to pick up Abadon in a Fireman's Carry and slam her backwards with a Samoan Drop.

Abadon does a creepy sit up and grabs Gia, hitting her with a Stunner. With Gia rocked, Abadon knocks her down with a running dropkick. Abadon grabs Gia and slams her face first into the mat. With Gia Scott out, Abadon pins her and scores the win for the night.

Match 2- Robyn Renegade vs Britt Baker D.M.D

You'll have to bear with me with this one since I'm writing about it as I see the match on live TV, so I won't be as descriptive as in my usual match reviews.

Britt Baker comes down the ring with Reba, noticeably missing Jamie Hayter. Baker and Robyn start to grapple and the challenger gets the champ in a headlock. Britt reverses with a headlock takedown and tries to pin her but Robyn kicks out. They both try to grab each other in an armlock but Baker gets the advantage and tried for another unsuccessful pin. Britt tosses Robyn back with a suplex and tries yet another pin, and this time  starts clobbering her in frustration since she can't get the win.

Robyn manages to kick Baker in the back of the head and throws some chops as the Role Model is up against the turnbuckle. Robyn tries to run with a flying knee, but Baker gets out of the way so her knee gets caught in the ropes. Britt grabs her head and slams her to the mat. This is when picture-in-picture hits and I try not to tune out. Among the several commercials for Subway and the upcoming Uncharted movie, Britt slams Robyn with another suplex and starts kicking her around. Baker showboats for the crowds as Robyn is still on the mat trying to regain her bearings.

Really? Two different Subway commercials during the same commercial block??

After the commercial break, Robyn gets some offense in, slamming Baker into the mat twice. She does a running dropkick on Baker as she's up against the turnbuckle. She follows up with a running knee, this time hitting the mark. Robyn climbs the ropes and does a Frog Splash on Baker and tries for the pin, but the champ kicks out. Robyn tries to pick up Baker but the champ rolls out of it and kicks her in the face.

Baker gets Robyn in the Fisherman Buster and then finishes her off with The Stomp. Robyn is out and Baker gets the pin, but she's not done yet. Reba comes in and gives Britt her glove which she uses to get Robyn in the Lockjaw, despite the match already being over. Suddenly Thunder Rosa comes in and attacks Baker. However Jamie Hayter comes in to take care of Rosa. Mercedes Martinez also comes in and shoves Jamie out of the way so she can attack Rose. Mercedes and Jamie fight over who gets to attack Rosa and get in each other's faces. Baker gets between them to keep the peace. Mercedes Martinez is set to face Thunder Rosa the following week, but this time with zero disqualifications.

My Opinions-

It's always good to see Abadon back, I believe she was out due to injury. Gia put up a good bit of offense, and I was impressed when she did the Fireman's Carry to Samoa Drop. She's lucky Abadon didn't bite her like she does to many of her unlucky opponents. I am still surprised about the extra AEW Dark special, like how many dark matches did the audience get to see during this week's shows?

The match between Baker and Robyn was pretty good, especially when Robyn got some offense in and showed off what she could do. Nothing against the champ of course, but we've clearly seen what she can do in the ring, it's good to see the newcomer. The story continues between the ripples that Mercedes Martinez is causing among Baker's little group. I know now that Mercedes is mostly here to cause trouble for Thunder Rosa, but we know eventually we're gonna see her a match against Jamie and eventually Britt herself.

The funniest part of the match wasn't even part of the match. Robyn's twin sister Charlette Renegade was telling fans to check out her sister on this week's Rampage, but left in a very hilarious typo. We were left wondering if that's what Tony Khan meant by 'The Forbidden Door'.

Kinda reminds me of Demolition Man. Kudos to Charlette for leaving that tweet up after she caught her mistake, lol.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
