AEW Dark Elevation Women's Matches- February 14, 2022 (Episode 50)

 By Mark Rodriguez

Dark Elevation celebrates it's 50th episode today. These lovely ladies will break a lot more than just your heart. Thunder Rosa gets some singles action and we also get a cool 3 on 3 match.

Match 1- Riley Shepard vs Thunder Rosa

Both women try to grapple and outdo each other until Thunder Rosa finally gets Riley in a headlock takedown. Riley tries to turn this into a roll up pin, but Rosa kicks out. Rosa managed to get Riley on the ropes and deliver a loud chop. Rose gets her over to another corner and chops her again. Riley tries to walk over to the other turnbuckle and Rose follows and hits her with 2 back elbows followed by another huge chop across the chest. Rosa rolls backwards and runs towards her opponent with a lying knee. She then climbs the ropes and drops down, hitting Riley's chest with double knees.

With Riley on the mat, Rose runs at her with a jumping double stomp. With Riley down and out, Thunder Rosa picks her up and hit her with the Thunder Driver. She goes for the pin and score the win. Thunder Rosa is set to fight Mercedes Martinez in a grudge match with no disqualifications on this week's AEW Dynamite.

Match 2- Nyla Rose, The Bunny & Emi Sakura vs Ruby Soho, Tay Conti & Anna Jay

The Main Event for the evening, we starts things off with Ruby and Nyla, since they've had recent beef with each other. Nyla brags that she already beat Ruby before and tags in The Bunny. Ruby tags in Anna Jay. Anna Jay and The Bunny starts clobbering each other. Bunny knees Anna Jay in the stomach and throws her on her back. The Bunny goes to grab her jacket and wrap around Anna Jay's neck until the ref stops it. As the ref takes the jacket away, Anna Jay tags Ruby back in.

The Bunny throws Ruby towards the ropes, who uses this momentum to try to attack Nyla, but the Native Beast jumps off the ring to avoid it. As Ruby turns around she gets clocked in the jaw by The Bunny's thrust kick. Bunny tosses Ruby out the ring near all of her buddies. As Bunny distracts the ref, Nyla gets some cheap shots on Ruby and then holds her so Vickie Guererro can slap her. Bunny goes for the pin but Ruby kicks out. Keeping Ruby in their corner, Bunny tags Emi Sakura in.

Emi Sakura grabs Ruby and just throws her across the ring. Emi starts to chop Ruby in the chest with the beat of  'We will Rock You' and then runs at her with a flying crossbody splash against the turnbuckle. Em climbs the rope and goes for a splash but Ruby quickly gets out of the way so all Emi hits is the mat. Emi and Ruby try to go for their partners. Nyla Rose runs in after Ruby without being tagged. Ruby is quick to trip Nyla over the ropes, and then kicks her in the head to send her off the ring.

Tay Conti is tagged in and she quickly runs over to sock The Bunny out and off the ring. She then starts throwing hands against Emi Sakura. With Sakura against the ringpost, Tay hits her with a running pump kick to the face. Anna Jay runs in but Bunny grabs her for a face slam. Tay runs towards Sakura and hits her with another pump kick. Tay tries to pick her up but she counters this and slams Tay instead. She goes for a pin but Conti kicks out.

The Bunny is tagged in and she grabs Conti with a waist lock. Conti hits her with back elbows and even the Bunny tries to pull her back, she still managed to run over and tag in Ruby Soho. Ruby runs in and knocks Emi Sakura off the ring, but Bunny manages to hit her on the back of the head soon afterwards. Conto climbs the ropes and takes out Nyla Rose with a moonsault. Bunny grabs Ruby, ready to take her Down the Rabbit Hole, but Rub counters with her No Future kick. Bunny drops like a bag of bricks and Ruby goes for the win. The team of Ruby Soho, Ann Jay and Tay Conti closes Dark Elevation as winners.

My Opinions-

Wasn't really expecting Thunder Rosa's match to be a squash. I guess it's always cool to see Thunder Rosa in action but aside from some grappling in the beginning, there was zero offense from Riley Shepard. Hopefully she can come back later in other matches so how off what she can do. The match was so short and simple and I was kinda expecting a run-in from Mercedes or someone to spice things up.

This was made up for with the 6-woman match though, thought we could have seen more from Anna Jay and maybe some more back and forth between Ruby and Nyla to continue from their last match. It was mostly Ruby VS The Bunny with the others hopping in once in a while. Either way, it's always cool seeing Tay Conti in action, everybody loves Ruby Soho, and we've been seeing more and more of the Bunny lately, so hopefully this is a good sign that they're building her up. Overall some decent matches from the women's side of things, but the squash match kinda ruined it.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
