AEW Dark Elevation Women's Matches- February 7, 2022 (Episode 49)

 By Mark Rodriguez

This time we got only 2 matches, but one of them is a three on three match including some new and old favorites like Emi Sakura and Skye Blue. I've seen that both of them have had several matches on Dark lately so it'll be cool to see them in ring action tonight. And hey, Diamante is always good.

Match 1- Skye Blue, Queen Aminata, & Heather Reckless vs Diamante, The Bunny & Emi Sakura

We start things off with Diamante squaring off against Skye Blue, and Diamante is the first to smack her across the face and deliver a chop to the chest. Skye Blue angrily starts throwing fists at her, going for a takedown and continuing the assault. Diamante rolls so she's on top of her opponent and throws some punches of her own before both women roll away from each other. Diamante run towards Skye and eats a hard kick to the face. Skye goes over to tag Aminata in who delivers a harsh chop to Diamante who is trapped in their corner.

Diamante goes for a chop of her own but Aminata ducks it. Skye lands a kick to the back of her head and is tagged back in. Skye rolls her along across the mat and kicks her in the head again, going for a pin. Skye goes over to tag in Heather who walks over to pick up Diamante. Diamante chops Heather so hard she falls to the mat close to her team. Heather runs towards Diamante who grabs her and suplex tosses over to her team now. Diamante delivers a chop to Heather and tags Emi Sakura in. Sakura gets into the ring and starts tossing Heather around.

Emi Sakura starts chopping Heather along to the tune of  'We Will Rock You' and then runs into her with a flying crossbody splash. Emi picks up Heather and slams her on her knee with a Backbreaker. Emi goes for the pin but Skye breaks it up. Skye and Heather grab onto Sakura but she slams both women into each other. Emi throws one onto the other and grabs them both into a submission hold. Diamante also grabs Aminata in a submission hold as The Bunny just skips around.

that escalated quickly

As everyone returns to their spots, Sakura, still the legal woman, grabs Heather and tags in The Bunny. Sakura gives Heather another Backbreaker for good measure before Allie takes over. Bunny runs over and knocks Skye and Aminata out and then does a running lariat to Heather Reckless. Bunny hits Heather with a knee and then runs at her with a Knee Lift, sending her to the mat. Bunny grabs Heather, who is now on rubbery legs, and gets ready to send her Down the Rabbit Hole, but Skye and Aminata run in to sock her back.

As Skye and Aminata make sure Heather is alright, Sakura and Diamante also rush in. Bunny grabs onto Heather as Diamante and Sakura grab the other two. Bunny yells 'DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE' as she does her move onto Heather while her teammates slam down their opponents at the same time. Bunny gets the pin and score the win for her team.

Match 2- Arie Alexander vs Julia Hart

Both women start to grapple and Arie hits Julia with a back elbow. She kicks Julia and then rolls her down onto the mat, landing another kick to the face. As Julia tries to recover, Arie hits her with another kick to the midsection and then slams her face into the turnbuckle. She runs in for a lariat but Julia ducks and gets out of the way. Julia starts punching the hell out of Arie until she falls onto the mat. Then she starts stomping on her until the ref breaks it up. Julia backs away only to resume stomping the hell out of her until the ref stops her again.

Julia paces angrily and goes over to grab Arie and throws her onto the mat, followed by a kick across the back. Arie angrily socks her in the face and Julia responds by doing a backwards handstand and kicking her in the face. Julia sweeps and trips Arie down and then does a standing moonsault splash on her. Julia throws Arie against the turnbuckle and does a cartwheel flip into an elbow to the face.

Julia runs into a second time and then grabs her for a Running Bulldog as she lands in a split. Julia grabs her into a submission move and Arie Alexander taps out. Julia Hart won the match.

My Opinions-

That Trios match was a lot of fun. It looks like this is Heather Reckless' first outing with AEW. We have seen Queen Aminata before and Skye Blue has been making constant appearances on AEW Dark and Dark Elevation. It's always good to see Diamante back in action, as well as Emi Sakura and The Bunny. The Bunny has been scoring a lot of wins lately, which is pretty cool. Of the newcomers, Skye got to see a lot of action and show off her fiery spirit. Sadly we didn't get to see much of the other two. Heather drew the short straw and got to be the one to take the most damage during the match and Queen Aminata barely did anything if it weren't for those short seconds all 6 women were in the ring. The first half of the match was basically Diamante VS all three, but I didn't mind too much since it's always good to see her in action. Emi Sakura got to have fun with her gimmick and deliver those nasty backbreakers. It was a good match for what was allowed in the short time it took, but I would have liked to see the other girls do more.

The Julia Hart match was alright. Julia is still sporting the eye patch she now wears after Alistair Black sprayed her eye with mist during a short lived feud between him and the Varsity Blondes. Julia plays the happy-go-lucky cheerleader to the Varsity Blondes, but now she shows off a bit of viciousness during the match. Arie got some good offense there, and it will be good to see her continue to improve as she gets more matches.

Overall it was a fun night. The Trios match could have had more involvement with some of the girls, but I was just glad to see Skye, Diamante and Emi Sakura again. The Julia match was good since we could always see more of her going solo in the ring since she's just a valet whenever she's with Brian Pillman, Jr. & Griff Garrison.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
