Comic Book Haul 9/26/2026

This time around Wendy was out and about and was grabbing lunch near Alpha Comics, so she might as well swing by and see what's in the pullbox. We still don't have Street Fighter Masters Ken, but we did get the new Juri book. We also got the final issue of Saturday Morning Adventures TMNT, which as you know was based on the classic 80's cartoon.

 

TMNT Saturday Morning Adventures # 41- The final issue of the series. The Turtles (and Mondo Gecko) have been captured by the same enemies April once faced before. There's also a bonus back up with a 'what could have been' had the series continued at least tile issue 50.

Street Fighter Masters- Juri # 1- Has Vortex made the mistake of targeting the deadly Juri Han? 

The Spectacular Spider-Man Brand New Day # 5- Spider-Man's adventures continue!

Gambit Gone # 1- This was Wendy's pick. This takes place after a recent Apocalypse story and it looks like there's more than one Gambit running around.

Spider-Man and Hulk- Fire and Brimstone # 2- This unlikely team up continues. Gotta hand it to Spidey, he can be fighting the Hulk in one series while teaming up with him in another. 

We also went to Third Eye later on and picked one of the two remaining copies of Street Fighter Masters Ken. For some reason Alpha Comics didn't get this one but they got the Juri one just fine.

Mega Man Gear Masters #1- The original Blue Bomber gets his own series!

Street Fighter Masters- Ken # 1-  Ken gets his Masters story, but is that Huitzil in the background?

Masters of the Universe- Legends of Eternia # 2- So Tokyo Pop is making He-Man comics now it looks like. We missed the first issue but the good folks at Third Eye put a back order for me.

I'll be checking out the final 80's TMNT issue soon, though it's going to be bittersweet. Wish we had more time. It really was a fun series. 

It was also Local Comic Book Day. I'm not sure it's celebrated everywhere but most comic stores were having discount sales on everything and also exclusive cover versions of certain comics. Third Eye did have a table with the remaining copies but nothing really grabbed out interest.

I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. Dragonball Super manga Volume 5 (Chapter 28)

 By Mark Rodriguez The crew resumes regular life after the events of the Goku Black arc. Goku is living his regular life and working as a farmer. Vegeta is training with Whis and learning to contain the Super Saiyan Blue within himself similar to what Goku did earlier. Bulma is now pregnant with her second child. Goku remembers the Universal Tournament that Zeno, the Lord of Everything, wanted to do someday. Despite the warnings of how dangerous and unpredictable Zeno Sama can be, Goku activates the button he was given and is warped away to see him. What will happen now? Chapter 28- The Gods of Destruction from all 12 Universes On Beerus' planet, the Oracle Fish asks where Goku went. Lord Whis tells him that he want to see Zeno Sama. SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play.
