Top Ten most Viewed Video Game Masters episodes as of 2026

While our long-running Youtube channel has done several things including movie reviews, let's plays, comic book reviews and other stuff, the main theme was our Video Game Masters show where Johnny and I cover old and new videogames. Now we'll go over the top 10 most watched VGM episodes ever. I've did a top five back in 2018 so I'll compare how many views were added since then. Also keep in mind, we are still a relatively small channel doing this more for the fun than for 'trying to make it big' on Youtube.

1-  VGM Episode 38- The King of Fighters 2001, 2002 and 2003

In 2018-  1,646 views 

In 2026- 2,330 views

While Mark and Paige are away, Angel will play as Johnny and Rakiarmas try to review KOF 2001, 2002 and 2003.

Still one of my favorite episode, and I liked Johnny carrying an episode mostly by himself. Rakiarmas was a guest star and Angel was a voice-over, so Johnny was the main host this time around.

2- VGM Episode 12- Dragonball GT Final Bout & Ultimate Battle 22

In 2018- 1067 views

In 2026- 1,222 views

Mark and Johnny check out the 2 classic DBZ games that hit the American PS1, DB GT Final Bout and Ultimate Battle 22. Being the most watched episode of VGM EVER, will lightning strike twice on the new channel?

I guess not since the KOF episode overtook it by quite a bit. This was one of the earlier episodes filmed in Mexico.

3- VGM Episode 29- The King of Fighters 99 and 2000

Mark, Johnny and Rakiarmas continue the KOF marathon with KOF 99 and KOF 2000.

I mostly remembered that it took me forever to finally grab a copy of KOF 99 for the PS1. I eventually downloaded it on the PS4, now without the load times between rounds.

One thing to note is we were still new to Vegas at the time and we decided to film a brief intermission of Mark and Johnny hitting the buffet at Sam's Town. Sadly after the pandemic, most buffets in Vegas that were not in the larger casinos were shut down permanently. Whenever Johnny, Wendy, Jack Knives, Lan Moore and I all got to meet up at Sam's Town last year, the buffet was a thing of the distant past.

4- VGM Episode 11- DBZ Hyper Dimension & DBZ Super Goku Den Kakusei Hen

In 2018- 551 views

In 2026- 691 views

Mark and Johnny bust out the Super Adapter and play the original Super Famicom versions of DBZ Hyper Dimension and Super Goku Den Kakusei Hen. 

Man, I haven't used the Super Adapter until I reviewed DBZ Super Butoden 3 in episode 114 over a decade later. This was an early episode when we still lived in Mexico.


5-  VGM Episode 4- TMNT Smash-Up for the PS2

In 2018- 386 views

In 2026- 644 views

Mark and Johnny check out TMNT Smash-Up and enter a Street Fighter 4 tournament at Anime Vegas 2009.

Our second episode when we were still living in Mexico. Man, Anime Vegas feels like forever ago. 

Now since back in 2018 I only did a top five, I won't have any 'before and after' view comparisons for the next five. 

6-  VGM Episode 47- The King of Fighters 2006

The KOF characters jump into the world of 3D. Mark, Johnny, Pikachika and Rakiarmas review this classic PS2 fighter.

This was one of the last episodes we filmed before I moved out of Vegas. As many know. this game was actually KOF Maximum Impact 2 but was renamed KOF 2006 to grab more attention in the US.

7- VGM Episode 2- TMNT Tournament Fighters

Mark and Johnny check out the awesome SNES version of TMNT Tournament Fighters... and suffer through the Genesis version. 

I still don't know to this day why they chose to make different versions of the game and why the team that worked on the Genesis version went that route...

8- VGM Episode 42- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles original Konami arcade

Mark and Johnny go retro as they check out the classic TMNT arcade game and the NES home version of it.

This one featured Insert Coins, the long gone arcade bar that used to be on Fremont in Vegas. We briefly mentioned both the arcade and NES versions decades later when we reviewed the Cowabunga Collection in episode 109.

9- VGM Episode 39- The King of Fighters XIII

Will the KOF XIII make up for the horribly disappointing KOF XII? You can be sure as all hell that Mark and Johnny will check it out!!!

Not much I can say except that this is the game that KOF XII should have been. I later got it for the PS4/5.

10- VGM Episode 28- The King of Fighters 94-98

Mark, Johnny and Rakiarmas travel through memory lane as they talk about KOF 94, 95, 96, 97, and 98.

This episode opens with a brief scene of Pikachika and Lan Moore playing Marvel VS Capcom 3 over at Insert Coins. At the time the game was free to play as a way to draw people in. 

So these are the top ten most watched episodes as of now. Maybe we'll come back to this next year or so if some newer episode shakes things up and changes the order around. As for now the top 5 from today is the same top 5 from 2018 except with more views. 

We'll close this off with a bonus video, our review of The Nerd over at Fremont in Vegas which also serves as the big VGM reunion episode. We get to meet up with Sweet Pete, Lan Moore, Wick and Angel once again. The Nerd was a disappointment but luckily Toy Shack would make up for it.

Dragonball Super manga Volume 5 (Chapter 28)

Vegeta is training with Whis and learning to contain the Super Saiyan Blue within himself similar to what Goku did earlier. Bulma is now pregnant with her second child. Goku remembers the Universal Tournament that Zeno, the Lord of Everything, wanted to do someday. SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play.
