NWA Powerrr S9E5 and S9Ep7 (Women's Matches)

Match 1- Max The Impaler vs Ella Envy vs Taya Valkyrie

The match starts with Ella, unwisely, talking trash to both of her opponents. This leads to Taya smacking her, followed by Max smacking her, and then both competitors smacking her at the same time and knocking her down. Taya and Max grab Ella and bounce her against the ropes, knocking her down with a double shoulder tackle. Taya gets Ella against the ropes and starts kicking her and lands a harsh chop towards her chest. Taya grabs her and throws her across the ring....where she lands right at Max's feet. As she tried to get away, Max grabs her by the hair and viciously throws her right back towards Taya.

Taya taunts Ella and sets her up against the ropes, throwing kicks at her. Taya shoves her towards Max who knocks her down with a body block. Taya and Max then take turns running into poor Ella with uppercuts. Taya runs at her with double knees and then whips her back into Max who picks her up and bodyslams her. 

With Ella down and out, Taya and Max finally face off. Taya throws some chops and punches at Max, finally making them double-over with a kick to the midsection. Taya knocks Max down with a flying clothesline. Taya goes for the pin but Max kicks out. Ella gets into Taya's face reminding her that she is a champion (she's one half of the NWA Women's Tag Team Champs with Kenzie Paige). Taya responds by grabbing her and slamming her in a Snap Suplex. 

As Taya poses, Max knocks her down with a running clothesline. Taya is up against the ropes and Max runs and slams into her with their elbow. Max throws lefts and rights until the ref breaks it up. The Impaler grabs Taya and slams her with a vicious vertical suplex. Max pins Taya but Ella runs in to hit them in the back. This only pisses Max off as they set their sights on Ella. The Tag Team Champ screams as Max grabs her by the hair and throws her outside of the ring.

Max focuses on Taya again, and the Wera Loca somehow manages to pick them up and slam with them a Spine Buster. Taya gets on top of Max and starts throwing punches. Taya grabs Max's arms and slams them in a Curb Stomp. As Taya circles around, Ella suddenly comes in and grabs her in a Code Breaker. Ella brags to the crowd about being a champ as Max is right behind her. As Ella turns, she screams her lungs out and runs under the ropes to get out of the ring. Max gets out of the ring to give chase and Ella stumbles as she tries to get away from them. Max picks up Ella, ready to slam her against the apron, but Ella manages to slip out of their grasp and shove The Impaler face-first into the ring post.

Ella brags to the crowd as she climbs back into the ring, unaware that Taya is waiting for her. Taya grabs her and hits her across the back while her legs are still hanging off the ropes. The Wera Loca slams the Tag Team Champ face first into the mat with a Draping DDT. Taya poses for the crowd but Max runs into her, slamming her repeatedly against the ring post with shoulder tackles. As Taya stumbles to get back up to her feet, Max nearly breaks her in a half with a savage spear.

Max takes a bit to decide to go after Taya or Ella and slowly walks over to the Tag Champ. Max grabs Ella from the apron and flips her over the ropes, tossing her back into the ring. Max picks up Ella and slams her with To The Wastelands and goes for the pin. Taya tries to crawl over to break the pin but couldn't make it in time. Max The Impaler won the Triple Threat Match. The ref comes over to raise Max's hand in victory, but that might be a little too dangerous to do so.

After the match, Max approaches Kyle Davis, and mostly growls at him. Kyle doesn't really know what to do and mostly tries to hold still, the way you would when approached by a wild bear. Just then, Father James the Sinister Minister shows up and convinces Max to follow him. They might be joining forces.

Gotta love wrestling and characters like Max the Impaler. We need more like them.

Match 2- Kaci Lennox VS Kenzie Paige

Both women start the match locking up and Kenzie is the first one to knock Kaci down with a shoulder tackle. Kenzie goes a quick pin but Kaci slips out of it but gets kicked in the face. With Kaci up against the ropes, Kenzie runs into her with an uppercut. Kenzie gets up the against the ropes and calls Kaci to come at her. When Kaci runs in, Kenzie kicks her in the face. Kenzie goes for the ropes but Kaci yanks her leg out from under her making her land hard onto the mat. Kaci goes for the pin but Kenzie kicks out at 2.

Kenzie is still hurt so Kaci grabs her and runs her face into the top turnbuckle. Kaci slams her shoulders into Kenzie's back several times. With Kenzie still holding onto the turnbuckle, Kaci runs into her with double knees to the back. Kaci swings Kenzie into another turnbuckle on the other side of the ring, making her hit her back against it. Kaci then grabs her for a suplex and goes for the pin. Kenzie kicks out. 

Kaci gets her opponent up against the ropes and starts throwing chops and elbow shots until the ref breaks it up. As Kaci goes up to her again, Kenzie hits her with a back elbow to the face, followed by a kick. Kenzie bounces Kaci's face off the top turnbuckle and takes to the ropes. The Tag Team Champ takes Kaci down with a dropkick off the ropes and goes for the pin. Kaci kicks out.

Kenzie tries to grab Kaci in a hold but Kenzie uses her height advantage to slam her with a face buster. Kaci goes for the pin but Kenzie kicks out, making her scream in frustration. Kaci grabs Kenzie in a Fireman's Carry, but Kenzie fights her way out. She grabs Kaci with another face buster and pins her down. Kenzie scores the win and raises her Tag Team Title high.

Match 3- Taya Valkyrie VS KiLynn King- NWA Women's Champ # 1 Contender's Match

Both women grapple and KiLynn manages to lift and Taya and slam her down. As they grapple, KiLynn slams Taya with a headlock takedown. Taya gets her legs around KiLynn's neck making her break the hold. KiLynn manages to flips out of it and get her back into the headlock. Taya fights her way back to her feet and shoves KiLynn, making her fall on her back. Taya grabs onto both of her legs and also pulls her hair back to prevent her from grabbing the ropes to break the hold.

KiLynn gets out of the hold and both women get to their feet. KiLynn and Taya shakes hands out of respect and get their heads back in the game. They get into a test of strength, each one trying to lean the other one back. Both women fight to see who can grab each other's arm first and KiLynn armdrags her to the mat. KiLynn leaps onto the ropes, still holding onto Taya's arm and jumps off, sending her opponent flying with an off the rope armdrag. As both women run at each other and the Wera Loca gets KiLynn with an armdrag. KiLynn kicks her in the midsection.

KiLynn hits Taya across the back and then slams her face into the turnbuckle. KiLynn hits Taya with a strong chop and then gets her in a snapmare. KiLyn grabs both of Taya's arms from behind and presses her boot against her back. She pushes Taya down all the way to the mat and then curb stomps her. The Majesty of Muscle grabs onto Taya's arm and pulls back until the Wera Loca sets her boot on the ropes to break the hold. 

KiLynn gets Taya against the ropes and kicks her, and then whips her into the turnbuckle on the other side of the ring. KiLynn towards her but even though Taya gets out of the way, she is able to stop herself before crashing into the turnbuckle. Taya slides under KiLynn and ducks a kick from her taller opponent. The Wera Loca grabs her leg and makes her fall. She tries to grab her legs for the Loca Lock but Kilynn kicks her off. KiLynn bounces off the ropes and knocks Taya down with a strong kick to the face. She goes for the pin but Taya kicks out. 

Taya is worn down and KiLynn grabs her in a headlock. Taya is able to fight her way back to her feet and get out of the hold. She grabs KiLynn's arm and kicks her in the midsection and then hairwhips her to the mat. Taya hits KiLynn's midsection with a Double Stomp and goes for the pin. Somehow The Mother F'N King is still able to kick out. Taya gets KiLynn against the ropes and hits her with a chop and some kicks. She then whips her to the turnbuckle on the other side of the ring and runs towards her. KiLynn dodges her and hits her with several kicks. She then grabs Taya and rolls her along the mat.

KiLynn runs and knocks Taya down with a Flying Clothesline and goes for the pin. The Wera Loca still kicks out. KiLynn gets Taya back to her feet, but is hit by several kicks and knee strikes. Taya bounces KiLynn against the ropes and knocks her down with a clothesline. Taya goes for another pin but can't keep her down. Taya tries to grab KiLynn for The Road to Vahalla, but she gets out of it and socks her in the back. KiLynn grabs Taya for the Excali-Buster but she slips out of it. Taya manages to trip KiLynn and grab her legs for the Loca Lock. KiLynn taps out, making Taya the number one contender to challenge Kamille at NWA 74. Both women shake hands in respect. 

Match 4- Kamille VS Chelsea Green- NWA Women's World Championship Match

Both women start locking up but are unable to overpower the other. They try again and Kamille shoves Chelsea all the way towards the ropes until the ref calls for the break. Chelsea tries to grab Kamille while she's distracted but Kamille overpowers her and gets her towards the ropes again. Chelsea grabs the champ by the hair and gets her against the ropes. She lands a chop and a kick on the Brickhouse and poses for the crowd. Kamille knocks her down with a shoulder tackle while she's busy boasting. 

Kamille sends Chelsea towards the ropes, but as the challenger tries to knock down the champ, she bounces off her and falls, as if running into an actual brick house. As both women bounces off the ropes and try to hit each other, Kamille grabs Chelsea for a hip toss. Kamille grabs onto Chelsea's wrist and bends it back. She then lifts her up while still holding onto her wrist and sets her down. Kamille then runs for the ropes and knocks Chelsea down with a shoulder tackle. Chelsea rolls out of the ring as Matt Cardona watches over her. 

Kamille steps out of the ring and heads towards Chelsea, Cardona standing between them. Chelsea uses the distraction to gouge Kamille in the eyes and slams her face into the steel steps. Chelsea slams her face into the steps a second time and then rolls her back into the ring. Chelsea goes for the pin but Kamille kicks out. She then tries to throw the champ out of the ring but Kamille catches onto the ropes to stop herself from falling. Chelsea runs towards her and knocks her off the apron with a missile dropkick. 

Chelsea taunts Kamille and hits her and then rolls her back into the ring. She goes for another pin but she can't keep the champ down. Chelsea gets her in a chin lock, and even when Kamille gets to her feet, she shoves her face into the top turnbuckle. Chelsea presses her boot up against Kamille's throat. Chelsea sends Kamille down with a snapmare and followed by an elbow drop. Chelsea goes for another pinfall but the Brickhouse kicks out. 

Chelsea grabs onto Kamille's ponytail and despite the ref telling her to let go, manages to get the champ into two hairwhip snapmares. Chelsea grabs onto Kamille and drives her knee into her back. She then goes for another elbow drop but this time the champ gets out of the way, making Chelsea injure herself. Chelsea grabs her but Kamille punches her until she lets go. Chelsea grabs her by the hair again and slams her onto the mat. 

With Kamille up against the ropes, Chelsea runs and clotheslines her out of the ring. Chelsea runs for the ropes and plans to go for a suicide dive but Kamille socks her in the midsection, making her fall onto her back. Both women struggle to get back on their feet, though Kamille is the one still outside and running the risk of losing to a count out. Kamille beats the count and gets back into the ring, and Chelsea runs at her. The Brickhouse grabs her and slams her elbow onto the mat. She then whips Chelsea up against the ropes and hits her with several kicks. Kamile picks up Chelsea and while holding her upside down, bounces her head off the turnbuckle. She slams the challenger down and goes for the pin but Chelsea somehow still kicks out. 

Kamile grabs Chelsea, but she kicks her leg out. Chelsea goes for a stomp but Kamille gets out of the way, making her injure her leg. As Chelsea hobbles on her leg, Kamille knocks her down with a pump kick to the face. She goes for the pin but Chelsea kicks out. Kamille picks her up for a power bomb but Chelsea hits her in the head and then counters this into the Headsissors. 

Kamille runs towards Chelsea and catches her boot, as the challenger was intending to kick her. Chelsea manages to sock her in the face, then goes for the ropes and hits her with the Blockbuster. As Kamille tries to get up, Chelsea hits her with the Curb Stomp and goes for the pin. Kamille manages to raise her shoulder and break the pin. Chelsea bounces off the ropes and Kamille knocks her down with a Spinning Heel Kick. Kamille charges towards her opponent and Chelsea gets out of the way. Even though the champs stops herself from hitting the turnbuckle, Chelsea grabs her for behind and hits her with Back Stabber.

With Kamille in pain, Chelsea grabs her arms and does a curb stomp, jamming her face against the middle turnbuckle. Chelsea pins Kamille but reached out to grab Cardona's hand. The ref catches this and stops her as Kamille rolls out of harm's way. As the ref argues with both Chelsea and Cardona, Kamille prepares herself and knocks Chelsea down with The Spear. She then pins her and scores the win, retaining the NWA World Women's Title. Kamille is set to defend her title against Taya Valkyrie at NWA 74. 

My Thoughts-

I really loved Max the Impaler and her character in the first match. It was funny seeing seeing Ella drawing the short straw as a lot of the match was Max and Taya teaming up against her. With Ella constantly bragging about being a champion, you want to see them shut her up. All three women put up a good fight, and it was funny seeing Max chase Ella around as she kept screaming all the time. 

Ella's partner Kenzie was also put through her paces with NWA newcomer Kaci Lennox. Kaci put on some good defense, especially when Kenzie was rattled after she yanked her leg out from on the top turnbuckle. From there Kaci took advantage but Kenzie still won the match.

KiLynn and Taya put on a good match, and even though they both want a shot at Kamille, they still shook hands and showed each other respect. Loved that off the rope armdrag during the match. I wonder what KiLynn will do now that she lost a second chance at the champ?

Speaking of the champ, Kamille faced a tough opponent when she went against Chelsea. Chelsea pulled every trick she could. I loved how she complained that Kamille was grabbing her hair, and then she proceeded to grab her by the ponytail several times. Chelsea put up a good fight and very close to winning. It's ironic that Cardona obviously came along to help Chelsea cheat and yet him arguing with the ref cause his wife the match.

Overall great show and amazing matches spread across two episodes. This episode had Madusa and Allysin Kay announce a new NWA Women's TV Title. Allysin says it's a new belt made for her to add to her accolades, but we'll see who will be the first to actually win it.

Also it's funny that KiLynn King was in this episode since we actually got to interview her directly in the Diving Cutter Wrestling Podcast. Johnny, Ninja Panda and Ninja Jupi join me as we ask about her experiences as she entered the world of wrestling and such topics like training with the Dudleys, her matches in AEW and NWA and how she chose the Exali-Buster as her finisher.
