This time AEW Dark Elevation has 2 matches, so to round things out we also have last week's NWA Powerrr exhibition match between KiLynn King and Allysin Kay. It's always good to see these two badass ladies in action. Also we see more of Julia Hart embracing the dark side.
Match 1- (NWA Powerrr) KiLynn King vs Allysin Kay
The match opens with both women locking up and Allysin gets KiLynn in a headlock takedown. KiLynn gets Allysin in the headscissors and both women break away. KiLynn gets Allysin in the headlock takedown this time and now Allysin uses the headscissors to get out of it. KiLynn goes over to her but Allysin picks her up and drops her onto the ropes with the Stungun. As KiLynn recovers, Allysin runs and knocks her down with a clothesline and goes for the pin.
Allysin picks up KiLynn and slams her face into the top turnbuckle. She then throws three punches to the abdomen until the ref separates them. Allysin then slams KiLynn's face into another turnbuckle in a different corner of the rings and cracks her with a hard chop to the chest. She hits her with a second harder chop and prepares to slam her face into the turnbuckle of the third corner of the ring. This time KiLynn stops her and hits her back. With Allysin up against the ropes, now KiLynn lands a nasty chop across her chest. KiLynn gets her up against another corner and hits her with a second brutal chop.

Both women bounce against the ropes and run at each other, knocking her other out with a double clothesline.
With both women down and out the ref starts counting, it becomes a matter of who can get up first to beat the 10-count. Both competitors get to their feet and start trading blows. They both duck under each other's kicks but Allysin manages to kick KiLynn across the face, knocking her back against the ropes.

KiLynn runs over for a kick to the face but her opponent grabs her leg and makes her fall on her back. Allysin grabs her in the Half Boston Crab again but this time they're in the center of the ring and too far from the ropes. KiLynn manages to get on her back and kick KiLynn off of her. KiLynn grabs onto Allysin and finishes her with the Excali-Buster, getting the pin and win.
Afterwards KiLynn King is interviewed and asked why it seems she's the gateway to get to Kamille, where opponents must get through her before they can challenge the champ. KiLynn says she was heavily advised it's to her best interest to stay close to the champ. When asked who advised her of this, she says the man that trained both Kamille and herself, Bully Ray.
Match 2- Skye Blue and Brittany vs Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir
Nyla Rose pretends to give Brittany a free shot, but knocks her down with a clothesline when she comes in. Nyla shoves Brittany over to her corner and tags Marina in. Marina starts throwing body shots and uppercuts. Marina tries to whip Brittany towards the ropes, but she starts punching back. Unfortunately, her punches don't even phase Marina and a quick punch from the former MMA fighter quickly doubles her over.
Marina wrenches Brittany's arm and tags Nyla back in. Marina throws Brittany to the mat which leads into Nyla running over and landing on her with a body splash. Nyla shoves Brittany up against both sides of the ring, each time working the same arm that Marina has attacked.
Nyla taunts Brittany, being too far to tag Skye in and picks her up. Brittany manages to slip behind her and shoves her towards the ropes. Nyla stops before bumping into Skye and takes a swing at her. Skye ducks under the punch, and Nyla turns to take a swing at Brittany. With Marina tagged in, she kicks Brittany across the back and gets her in the Greedy submission hold, making her tap. Nyla Rose and Marina Shafir win the match.
Match 3- Julia Hart vs Amber Nova
Julia gives Amber the cold dark glare, which is pretty unnerving and already affecting her. As Amber rushes to lock up, Julia knees her in the midsection and punches her in the back. Julia socks her in the face and then punches her up against the ropes. Julia kicks her down and punches her in the head. Julia presses her boot against Amber's neck until the ref counts to two.

With Amber up against the ropes, Julia does a cartwheel and elbows her in the face. With Amber dazed, Julia throws her to the mat. Julia grabs her by the hair and then gets her in a submission move. Amber taps out and Julia wins the mat as she glares at the viewers.
My Thoughts-
That was a very brutal match between Allysin and KiLynn, both of them delivering hard chops, kicks and elbows. They spent most of the match beating each other down that doing power moves. Allysin did some damage with that painful looking half Boston Crab and KiLynn's Excali-Buster is always awesome to look at. Even though she lost her big match against Kamille, it seems she's doing what she can to stay as the top contender. We might get a rematch down the line and we could be looking at NWA's future Woman's Champion.
The AEW Dark Elevation Tag Match was fun, and we got to see Brittany team up with Skye Blue. Brittany seemed to have taken most of the bumps, from Marina's heavy hits to Nyla's power slams. Skye Blue continues to be a constant thorn in Nyla's side and it would be interesting if that continued to be built up to an actual feud. By now they've tangled a few times and Skye has shown that Nyla's size and power advantage isn't making her back down. Marina is as cold and brutal as always and she got to get the win with her nasty looking submission hold.
Julia Hart continues walking on the dark path of the House of Black as she makes short work of her opponent. Poor Amber didn't get to do much and it seems even when the opponents manage to get a punch in, all it does is piss Julia off more. I do love the cold dark glare Julia gives her opponents and how it always freaks them out. They really need to give her submission move a name though.
On other new, it seems AQA has dropped out of wrestling due to personal issues, which sadly includes AEW. While she's had matches on Dark and Dark Elevation, she has had matches on Dynamite and Rampage, most notably her match against Jade Cargill for the TBS title. It kinda bites because we haven't seen her in a while and I was hoping last week would have been the start of a comeback for her. We hope she does whatever is best for her and hopefully she can return to the ring if so she wishes.
Jade can pick up AQA with one arm while flexing with the other! |
We also have the official match between Mercedes Martinez and Serena Deeb for the Ring of Honor's Women's Title at the upcoming Death Before Dishonor. Let's remember their feud started off with matches seen on both AEW Dark and Dark Elevation. Let's hope we continue to see more of these feuds start here. It helps showcase that these Youtube shows aren't ones to just ignore.
