Comic Book Stash 5/28/2026

 By Mark Rodriguez

This time around, Third Eye had an entire pull box full of free DC comics, one for each customer. Naturally since Wendy and I went together, we chose two books. We also got a few things from the pullbox and some stuff came in the mail. Let's check em out.

Venom # 258- Now that the Death Spiral story ended, where do Peter, MJ, Spider-Man and Venom go from here?

Sai Dimensional Rivals #5- The final issue of this epic mini-series of the Marvel Rivals version of Psylocke!

Batwoman # 1- This came out earlier this year, I believe. It's the free issue that Wendy chose.

Detective Comics # 66 reprint- A reprint of the original Detective comics that would introduce that classic villain Two-Face. The original comic was released in 1942. This was the free comic that I chose.

I also swung by Alpha Comics and Games and picked up the following.

JLA/Avengers # 1- This one came out of nowhere. I know there were crossovers in the past so I wonder if this one is all new or if it's a reprint of and older story.

Saturday Morning Adventures TMNT # 37- The Turtles encounter Panda Khan! He was one of the original action figures that never appeared in the cartoons or comics... until now!

The Amazing Spider-Man # 28- What will happen to Spider-Man now that the Death Spiral story ended? He looks like he's seen better days.

The Spectacular Spider-Man Brand New Day # 1- Brand New Day usually isn't a good sign for Spider-Man. Let's see what new adventures begin here and we get yet another jumping on point.

So these are the books that we got, and soon we'll hit Third Eye for that free graphic novel. Also, I got the bad news that the Saturday Morning Adventures will be ending for the Ninja Turtles. We're headed towards the last few issues. I guess it couldn't last forever, but it's a shame. It was my favorite IDW TMNT series and the one I looked forward to reading the most every month.

AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament The Deadly Draw- Final Match

By Mark Rodriguez Alright guys, so this is the final match between the Women's Tag Tournament, the Deadly Draw meaning that teams were made at random depending on what color chips they would select out of a drawing. The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. Diamante gets Allie in an armbar and...

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...
