Mega Man # 25- Worlds Collide Part 4

By Mark Rodriguez

Dr. Wily and Dr. Eggman have joined forces and warped reality to their liking. They captured Sonic's friends and turned them into robots. Thanks to Metal Sonic and Copybot, Megaman and Sonic are tricked into fighting each other. With Sonic having the advantage in the Green Hill Zone, Megaman takes the fight to his own world and is ready for round two, with the help of Rush, Beat and Tango.

Megaman gives Sonic the chance to surrender, but Sonic isn't impressed since he destroys animal robots on a daily basis. He also stole a chip that powers Megaman's arm cannon. Eddie gives Mega a spare and his gun is back in action. Tango hits Sonic with a similar spin-dash attack and Sonic is mad that he's using his move. As Sonic tries to avoid Tango, Rush propels Mega into the air to grab onto Beat, letting him shoot from above. As Sonic avoids the shots, he gets smacked by Tango again. He wonders when he lost control.

Sonic runs up a wall and jumps on Beat, which knocks Megaman off him. He lands on Rush, in his Rush Jet mode and Sonic is surprised the dog can fly. Sonic runs into traffic, which stops Megaman from shooting. Mega says they shouldn't involve innocent people and he will stop chasing him if he gives back the gem he stole. Sonic says he didn't steal anything and wants his friends back.

The mad scientists watch this due to Tails Man's camera and worried that once the heroes start talking, they'll realize the other isn't evil and will start coming after them, and they still need one more Chaos Emerald for their plans. They decide to have Tails Man attack them now while they're still confused and weak from fighting each other.

Tailsman swoops in and crashes into Sonic. He then fires a hurricane at Megaman. The hurricane sends cars flying, and the blue duo hurry to save all the innocent people. Sonic calls a truce while they save the people. Megaman says he can blast the robot if Sonic can cover for him. Sonic kicks Tailsman and Megaman manages to blast him with a Mega Buster. Sonic smacks him with his Sonic Spin Dash while he's still reeling from the blast. Megaman is confused by how the robot is acting and tries to steal the Weapon Data... and Sonic fears he'll use that against him. As Megaman copies his weapon data... Tails Man turns back into Tails!

Sonic is happy to have Tails back to normal, and the two tailed fox tells him he was captured by Metal Sonic and a 'black and gold' robot that Megaman recognizes as Bass. Tails said he was taken to a lab with Dr. Eggman and another scientist Megaman points out is Dr. Wily. They figure out that the docs tricked them with Copybot and Metal Sonic and the rest of Sonic's friends have also been turned into robots. Sonic is ready to kick some ass and Mega is surprised Sonic dropped their grudge so quickly. Sonic laughs at Megaman thinking he was a robot, but Mega explains he didn't think anything alive could be that fast.

Sonic shakes hands with Megaman, saying that saving Tails makes them even. They'll go to Dr. Light to he can find where Wily and Eggman are. They warp outside Light's lab so that Mega can explain slowly that Sonic and Tails are good guys, but detect smoke in the area. Inside, Protoman is trying to stop Bass and Metal Sonic from kidnapping Dr. Light. Bass shoots at the heroes and escapes in the ring portal. Roll dashes in and tells them that the bad guys appeared out of nowhere and Protoman protected them.

After Mega explains the situation regarding Sonic and Tails, Protoman, Tails and Roll work on locating the source of the ring portal energy. Mega is annoyed that Sonic is just chillin', and the hedgegog says Tails is the computer guy, not him. Tails found the way to open the portal and keep it stable. Megaman is ready to save his dad. Sonic and Tails join him, figuring it'll be nice to save a scientist for once. Protoman also wants to come and he advises to bring Rush too. Roll will watch the lab with help from Duo, Beat and Tango.

The heroes are ready and step through the portal. They find themselves in a bizzare world that's a strange mish-mash of both the Sonic games and the Megaman games.

My Opinions

The story continues to entertain as the heroes find out they've been tricked and managed to turn Tails back to normal. And now they're going to enter the Skull Egg Zone.. and it will only get better from here. Man, what a fight. if you cut up these issues to show how Copy Bot and Metal Sonic tricked Sonic and Megaman into fighting each other, and then show the whole fight, skipping out any scenes with anyone else besides Sonic and Megaman, you'd have at least one full issue of the Blue Blur and the Blue Bomber just duking it out non-stop.

Not much else I can say about this story. I do like how Sonic got mad at Tango's similar attack. The issue is full of witty dialogue and Sonic's wisecracks are entertaining, especially when getting used to Megaman's world. One of my favorite lines are when he thinks he defeated Mega by knocking him off of Beat, but then Rush flies and catches him. Sonic just sighs and says 'the dog flies..... of course the dog flies...' with that look of exasperation. His dialogue was probably the most fun to read.

Megaman did bring up an interesting point. He's not supposed to be able to attack living things... but since he thought Sonic was a robot, he was able to override his programming and blast away at him. He was afraid that this kind of loophole could be exploited... and while this doesn't come into play in this series... it could be used in future storylines. It's been a while since this storyline has been out, so feel free to correct me if they already have used this as a plot point in current issues.

I'll get back to this one soon enough as we see the wild wacky fun as Sonic and Megaman go through a mad dash of shout-outs and references of both their games.

The ultimate insult to throw into Sonic's face

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
