Comic Book Stash 3/8/2026

 By Mark Rodriguez

This time we got a decent haul over at Third Eye Comics, and also won a few cool comics on live auctions over at Hipcomic. I grabbed an issue I somehow missed the first time around, a classic comic for Wendy and one of my books from my childhood. Let's check out what we got.

Spider-Man/Venom Death Spiral #1- Spider-Man has to team up with both Venom (who is currently MJ) and Carnage (who is currently Eddie Brock) to stop a new villain named Death Spiral.

Black Cat # 7- Black Cat teams up with her old friend MJ, who is also currently Venom.

All-New Spider-Gwen Ghost Spider # 6- I somehow missed this one the first time around, but now I got it to complete the on-going run.

All-New Spider-Gwen Ghost Spider # 8- Gwen's adventures in the 616 continue as she now faces Mysterio.

Thundercats # 24- Someday we'll get to this.

Batman # 7- Batman pays the Joker a visit. The Joker is back... even though if you ask me, has he ever really left? The issue also features a 'fold-out' sequence.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles # 15- Master Splinter has returned! The Turtles rejoice, but how did this happen?

Psylocke Ninja # 2- Going back to the time where Betsy Braddock first got her mind switched with Kwannon's body, her newfound adventures continue.

Sai Dimension Rivals # 2- The adventures of the Marvel Rivals version of Psylocke, named Sai, continue.

Batgirl # 17- The Curse of the Blood storyline starts here!

Batman Annual # 14 1990- Used to own this one back as a kid and was my introduction to Two-Face before he became more popular in cartoons and movies. This one re-tells his origins. Thanks to Hipcomic I own this comic once again.

The New Teen Titans # 1 1984- Found this on a live-auction at Hipcomic for a few bucks. This one's for Wendy since she's a big fan of the Titans, especially the original comics. This line-up has Nightwing, Starfire, Cyborg, Beast Boy and Wonder Girl.

The Amazing Spider-Man # 192- We came across this one on the auction and the situation looks familiar. Having recently started to binge-watch the animated series, one of the early episodes did have Smythe capture both Spider-Man and Jonah Jameson and have them cuffed together with a time bomb. I know the cartoon is based on comics of course, but didn't think that exact scenario came from an actual comic. I got this one from Infinity Comics.

Aphrodite IX # 1- Another one of the bad-ass babes from Top Comics. Having run into her a few ads in the Tomb Raider comics, I was able to grab the first issue at a decent price over at Hipcomic. Well.... I had to kinda fight for this one on account that I didn't notice I bought issue 2 so I just had to get issue 1.

Aphrodite IX #2- Won this one for a good price at the Hipcomic auction... until I realized this was issue 2, not 1. That led me to get into a separate bidding war for issue 1.

The New Avengers # 9- The battle against the Killuminati continues as it looks like Carnage has turned against his team!

Spider-Man & Wolverine # 10- It's the final battle against Arachnix as this epic run (does ten issues count as a run?) comes to an end!

Wolverine 1999 Annual-  We step back in time as I nabbed this book during a Hipcomic live auction seconds before closing. Looks like Wolverine is about to enter the new millennium by having a grudge match against the guy that just won't shut up, Deadpool. That Y2K bug is a lot less annoying!

Another thing I got in the mail was the third volume of Dragons Rioting from Amazon. For some reason for a while now, that third volume was not only very hard to find but crazy expensive. I thought I got lucky a few years back when I actually found a copy at a sane price... until I realized the volume was smaller than the others. Then I realized it was the German version. I'm not sure what happened between now and then but I found an American copy for cover price. Now I have the first four volumes as I hope to hunt the others down.

AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament The Deadly Draw- Final Match

By Mark Rodriguez Alright guys, so this is the final match between the Women's Tag Tournament, the Deadly Draw meaning that teams were made at random depending on what color chips they would select out of a drawing. The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. Diamante gets Allie in an armbar and...

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...
