Comic Book Stash 7/21/2025

 By Mark Rodriguez

So we checked out Bent Wookee to catch up on the latest comics while adding a few new titles to the pull box. They were even nice enough to give us 20% off since we just got married this weekend while being long-time customers. Here are the cool things we got.

Wolverines and Deadpools # 1- Another cool team-up idea. This time Wolverine and Laura team up with Deadpool and his daughter Ellie. Can these four get along without killing each other?

The New Avengers # 1- We get a new Avengers team but with a few unlikely allies as members. War Machine, Black Widow, Hulk and Laura team up with the likes of Namor, Clea and Carnage!!

The New Avengers # 2- This new team has to face evil copies of the Illuminati, including Black Bolt from the Inhumans!!

The Superior Avengers # 4- The Superior Avengers continue to face off against villains while having villainous plans of their own.

IDW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles # 10- The story continues as the Turtles face the city of the New York being turned against them by the Foot Clan.. while barely being able to get along among themselves.

Batman Dark Patterns # 4- Part two of the Pareidolia mystery.

All-New Venom # 8- Venom has to match wits with Doc Ock!

Batman 89 Echoes # 6- After several hiatuses, we finally get the grand conclusion of the Batman 89 movie follow-up.

Thundercats # 16- We will eventually binge-read the heck out of this one.

Redcoat # 13- Wendy is collecting this one.

So just as I was about to wrap this up, two comics from Hipcomic came in the mail. The first was Marvel Comics Presents Wolverine # 54 which has him team up with the grey Hulk. The second was a real blast from the past, Double Dragon # 6 which wraps up the series. I still have to go back and buy issue 5.

We'll keep an eye out as we will eventually head out to Alpha Comics and check out what's in their pullbox. The newest Ninja Turtles Saturday Morning Adventures should be out soon.

AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament The Deadly Draw- Final Match

By Mark Rodriguez Alright guys, so this is the final match between the Women's Tag Tournament, the Deadly Draw meaning that teams were made at random depending on what color chips they would select out of a drawing. The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. Diamante gets Allie in an armbar and...

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...
