Two AEW shirts that vanished in a blink of an eye

By Mark Rodriguez

Buying wrestling shirts is always a big deal for the devoted fan, especially since a lot of them you have to get 'while they're hot' or some are available for a limited time. If you wait too long, or the wrestler gets released, their merch will vanish, so you better get it while you can. In the case of ProWrestlingTees, whenever a wrestler leaves the indies to go to WWE, for example Cora Jade FKA Elayna Black, all their merch gets removed since WWE will handle their merch going forward. Some shirts become outdated really quickly due to how the story changes with each new episode. The shirts based on Y2AJ were outdated by the time you got them in the mail because the team of Chris Jericho and AJ Styles was very short lived. But what about shirts that were up for such a short amount of time that they were gone within weeks, or even the same day it was released? I found two examples with ProWrestlingTees which I decided to bring up because it was odd that it happened twice.

Shanna's Saiyan Shirt

Shanna is a Portuguese wrestler that started early on in AEW, and after a brief absence, she returned to AEW Dark and Dark Elevation with a Dragonball Z gimmick. She was now sporting an outfit based on Goku's gi and later on in her last few matches had something based on Vegeta's outfit. She would even do the Genki Dama 'arms up' pose during her matches.

While her first DBZ-inspired shirt was up during her anime-inspired comeback, she had a second shirt that was only around for a week or two. I mostly remember waiting for payday Friday to get it and *poof!* it was just gone along with her overall merch section in ProWrestlingTees. Shanna had abruptly left AEW so her stuff was gone. I can't verify since I wasn't personally there but apparently there were backstage complaints on how she treated her opponents, particularly landing stiff shots and sandbagging in a match against Leyla Hirsch. It was a shame because I really REALLY wanted that shirt as Shanna went full Super Saiyan.

Images of this shirt are VERY hard to find, that I can only find a pic of her wearing it. I wasn't able to find the original pic of it when it was on sale on the site. It's still relatively easy to find a pic of the first shirt on AEW Shop's Facebook. That one I did manage to buy. After a hiatus from wrestling, Shanna has returned to wrestling in the indies in the UK. She still wears the orange outfit but without the Kamesennin symbol on, I'm assuming to either ditch the DBZ gimmick or avoid copyright issues.

Tully Blanchard Enterprises shirt

Usually a few weeks or even a few days before a big Pay Per View, there are new shirts lined up related to the upcoming matches, the PPV logo and so forth. This shirt literally vanished as not only did Tully Blanchard's new stable vanish, he also left the company.

So at the time of Ring of Honor's Death Before Dishonor 2022 was coming up, Tully formed Tully Blanchard Enterprises, as he ran a stable with Brian Cage, the Gates of Agony and shortly afterwards Jonathan Gresham. After scoring a win at Supercard of Honor, they were getting set for Death Before Dishonor and thus, a brand spanking new shirt was made for fans of this new stable to buy just in time for the event.

But then suddenly, before the event could start.... it was revealed that Prince Nana purchased the stable from Blanchard and renamed it the Mogul Embassy. This just happened off-screen, like we never even saw Nana talk to Tully. Tully was off the PPV and also off of Ring of Honor in general. I was curious so I went to check out ProWrestlingTees and sure enough the shirt was now gone. It was up for maybe 2 days.

I couldn't find too much about exactly why Tully either left AEW/RoH or why they dropped him. The most I could find was that people backstage didn't like how he was managing FTR. At least in kayfabe, FTR fired Tully, which is what led to him forming his short-lived stable.

As you know, Swerve Strickland would join the Mogul Embassy, and eventually the group would disband and turn against him. Currently Brian Cage leads Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona as Cage of Agony. As you know, Prince Nana stayed with Swerve as he would become AEW World Champion.

So far this has only happened twice that I know of, but I figured twice was enough to bring it up. I now wonder what would have happened had I bought these shirts the moment I saw them. Would they still have shipped? Would I have gotten a refund or in-store credit to buy another shirt instead? Shanna got to wear her merch, but I wonder if Tully's shirt was taken offline so quick that it was never even printed.

If anyone reading happened to have purchased (or attempted to purchase) these shirts, did you get them? Did you get a refund or in-store credit? Were there any other shirts that were pulled offline within a week or so like these two examples? Be sure to let me know.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more
