Free Comic Book Day 2026- MegaMan Showdown Special # 1

By Mark Rodriguez This has been a long-time coming. I got this one way back in May but I've been to busy to get to this one until now. Looks like we'll be seeing a fight between ProtoMan and Bass. There's also a back-up story related to MegaMan Battle Network. "Rival Robots" opens with a news reporter that looks a lot like Chun Li, covering the story that Dr. Wily has broken out of the Mega City Prison and had been running free for a week. His robots have run rampant all over the world and they can only hope that Mega Man can put a stop to this. Dr. Light is working on a robot that MegaMan found. As he fixes him, he wonders who created it. As he opens the arm cannon, he's surprised to see a chip with Dr. Wily's symbol on it. The robot snaps awake showing that he was pretending to be knocked out. He swats Dr. Light away and says he's is Bass, Dr. Wily's strongest creation. Bass checks the computer to see what Light has been up to (we see the Rush ...

The Name She Lost- Inanna #1 (Free Comic Book Day 2026)

By Mark Rodriguez One of the books for this year's Free Comic Book Day that got us curious was The Name She Lost- Inanna. She's a new character from Vault Comics but at a quick glance you'd think it's a new Amazon from Themyscira. The cover grabbed our attention so we picked it up, as Wendy grabbed it before I had the chance to do so. Let's check it out.   The story opens 5000 years ago, in the city of Uruk, the first city of Sumer. Soldiers line up at the castle overview to defend the city as a huge army looms over the horizon. One of the soldiers is pretty young and is shaking in his armor. The approaching army say they come in the name of the city-states of Eridu, Sippar and Larak. They call for the death of Uruk. As the army marches towards them, the scared soldier prays to his goddess, the Mistress of Heaven, known for her love of blood, to save them. Suddenly Inanna appears in front of the army, saying she hears the great sound of the young man's fear, wh...

Street Fighter Forever # 0 (Free Comic Book Day 2026)

By Mark Rodriguez One of the comics I always look forward to every year for Free Comic Book Day is whatever Street Fighter comic Udon will throw at us. This time around we look at Ryu as he faces several opponents in his past, present and future! Let's check it out!  "Lost in Thought" opens with Ryu meditating by a waterfall. He focuses his mind and controls his breathing until it feels like the world stops around him. Ryu has an out of body experience as he ponders on how he fights to better himself and surpass his limits. He asks himself about the meaning of strength. Is it to throw the strongest punch or land the swiftest kick? He wonders if his fighting style, Ansatsuken, is the the source of his strength or if it comes from somewhere else. Just then, Ken leaps in to attack him with his hurricane kick, only this is the younger long-ponytail version of his friend. Ryu looks around and finds himself back at Gouken's dojo. He remembers this day and this fight. Ken ...

Free Comic Book Day 2026 Comic Book Stash 5/2/2026

By Mark Rodriguez This time the haul was so huge, we're gonna split this up between what we got as part of the Free Comic Book Day, the regular pullbox stuff and the extra comics we got through our travels for free comics. This year we went for some new stores, so we discovered Richmond Comix and Black Dog Comics. When it comes to the Free Comic Book Day related comics, this is probably the most we've gotten. One thing I noticed this time around is that some of the comics came with a Comics Giveaway Day logo instead of the Free Comic Book Day logo.   Street Fighter Forever # 0- Ryu faces opponents from past, present and future. Street Fighter Forever # 0 Review   Megaman Showdown Special # 1- It's Protoman VS Bass! This was the only one that wasn't at Third Eye Comics, but we were able to snag a copy at Richmond Comix. But wow, the place was super busy and there a long line to get into this extra room in the back where they were keeping the Free Comic Book Day issues...
