Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is Out! New Character announced!!

 By Mark Rodriguez

So Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is finally out! And they did what they should have led with from the start. The first all-new character has been announced!

For those that missed out, Dead or Alive 6 has returned with a Last Round upgrade. However the new version barely has anything new if you compare how DOA5 Last Round was an upgrade to DOA5 Ultimate. Everything is mostly the same except for the new OBORO system that improves the lighting and details for the Lost Paradise stage with it being included in later stages down the line, and a new camera system. Kasumi, Ayane, Honoka, Marie Rose and NiCo will be getting a new costume each and there is a pre-order bonus costume for Marie Rose.

The main downside is the cost of Koei Tecmo having to pay for the SNK license to use Mai and Kula a second time. As a result, those two are not available in the base Last Round game and have to be paid for a second time. Luckily the other DLC characters, Nyotengu, Phase 4, Rachael, Momiji and Tamaki are here from the start.

The big deal is that the game, while mostly being a PS5 upgrade of classic DOA6, is that new costumes and characters were promised down the line. Now that the game is out, a new character, Minato, has been announced as the first new DLC character to be released later this summer.

So far her face is still obscured and she seems to be in the early phase where her in-game model isn't compete yet. Seems to have a very modern day Japanese look, though it's unknown what martial arts style she'll be using. She is also from-the-ground-up new, so she's not some older character or someone from the Venus Vacation spin-off games, like Tamaki was.

Like I said before, I'm not getting the game until new characters are available, seeing as I already paid for the first game and would have to re-purchase Mai and Kula. I'll get it whenever Minato comes out.

For some reason if you upgrade classic DOA6 from your PS4 purchase over to the PS5, the game is called Last Round. I noticed an update downloading so I was hopeful that Last Round was going to be a free update for people that already bought the first game. No such luck. The update turned out to be fixing some sort of issue with the Gust Mashup Costume Set. Um... OK. Guess when the time comes, I'll have to whip out the old wallet. I'll keep you posted if Minato will be just a DLC character or if she will be part of the first season/wave of DLC.

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...

AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament The Deadly Draw- Final Match

By Mark Rodriguez Alright guys, so this is the final match between the Women's Tag Tournament, the Deadly Draw meaning that teams were made at random depending on what color chips they would select out of a drawing. The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. Diamante gets Allie in an armbar and...

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...
