Comic Book Stash 5/17/2025

We return to Third Eye Comics as this week they have a free Sci-Fi Fantasy comic. This time around I didn't find any 90's Batman and Detective Comics to buy at the VA Comicon but I did find some Avengers classics. Check out what we got this time around.


 Gwenpool # 1

There's a new deadlier Gwenpool in town, and rumors are saying that she might be the original Gwen Stacy. How will affect the original Gwen Poole?

Batman Dark Patterns # 6

The Voice of the Tower mystery continues. I'll eventually have to catch up on this one. This was the only comic in my pullbox this time around.

The Avengers # 127

Got this one at the con. The Avengers, Fantastic Four AND the Inhumans? All in one comic? Let's check it out. 

The Avengers # 146

The Uncanny Assassin is after all of the Avengers. Will Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and the Vision be able to stop him? 

Star Wars Darth Vader # 48

This was the free Sci-Fi Fantasy comic from Third Eye that Wendy chose. 

Witchblade # 1

The first issue of a new 2024 run. This was the free Sci-Fi Fantasy comic from Third Eye that I chose.

So a small haul but I am very interested in this new Gwenpool series. A last minute addition was that Wendy's Jonny Quest # 2 also arrived in the mail today. Special thanks to Hipcomic for helping us find the missing issue so quickly.

AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament The Deadly Draw- Final Match

 By Mark Rodriguez Alright guys, so this is the final match between the Women's Tag Tournament, the Deadly Draw meaning that teams were made at random depending on what color chips they would select out of a drawing. The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

 By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play.
