Comic Book Stash 3/22/3025

 By Mark Rodriguez

This time we got ourselves a super-haul due to Third Eye Comic having a sale called Spring Slamboree. This includes a sidewalk sale, 15% off of everything including graphic novels and figures, and boxes and packages full of mystery comics. Let's see what we got.

 X-Men Psylocke- Blood Hunt # 1

I found this one-shot Blood Hunt tie-in about Psylocke in one of the dollar long boxes which was part of the sidewalk sale. Since it's just a one-shot and not a mini-series I'll have to hunt for, I decided to pick it up. Besides, Psylocke has always been a fave. Let's see how she deals with a world overrun with vampires.

Batman Dark Patterns # 4

As series in which Batman encounters four deadly mysteries at an earlier part of his career. We just got done with 'We are the Wounded'. This issues kicks off a whole new mystery.

West Coast Avengers # 5

The West Coast Avengers have a shaky foundation, but they better solve their issues quickly because the Flash Smasher AKA Evil Steve Rogers is back.

Psylocke # 5

Kwannon's adventures continue. Yes, I will try to get back into this one.

Eddie Brock Carnage # 2

Eddie Brock is now using the Carnage Symbiote. Can he keep it under control as his adventures continue?

The Spectacular Spider-Man # 186

The Vulture has a terminal disease and he's gonna go out, he's taking Spider-Man with him. What's more dangerous than a madman with nothing to lose?  I actually used to own this one, as well as the rest of the story. I can't wait to re-read this one.

The Spectacular Spider-Man # 197

Spider-Man teams up with the X-Men as he leaps into action with Ice Man, Archangel, Cyclops and Beast.

Here are some of the other goodies we got as part of the sale.

Third Eye Comics Fun Box

A big box of fun and surprises. 25 comics, 3 variants, 1 Funko Pop and one out of every 25 boxes will have a ten dollar gift card.

Third Eye Comics Classic Comics Mystery Pack

Several random comics, in this case we got the DC pack. Five comics will be classic old school ones.

Third Eye Comics Lucky Bag

15 comics for ten bucks! Random variants, key issues, gift cards and more in select packs!

We also got some manga.

His Majesty the Demon King's Housekeeper # 1

Wendy grabbed this one. She said the plot synopsis reminded me of the movie Labyrinth.

Dan Da Dan # 1

Seen some ads and heard some word about this new anime that hit Adult Swim recently. This is the manga version. Two high schoolers get into some odd adventures as they try to prove that ghosts and aliens exist.

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon # 1

Wendy grabbed this one too. This is the OG for fans of the magical girl genre as well as anime overall. Usagi Tsukino's life changes when she becomes the Pretty Guardian, Sailor Moon!

The only comics we missed out on are the TMNT Saturday Morning issue 22 as well as the new DC Comics and Sonic the Hedgehog crossover which Third Eye completely sold out of. Time to wait for the second printing.

AEW Women's Tag Team Cup Tournament The Deadly Draw- Final Match

By Mark Rodriguez Alright guys, so this is the final match between the Women's Tag Tournament, the Deadly Draw meaning that teams were made at random depending on what color chips they would select out of a drawing. The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. Diamante gets Allie in an armbar and...

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi...

SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. SNK made their own game, SNK VS Capcom Chaos and it offered a bit more...
