Nicktoons TMNT Episode 17- TCRI

By Mark Rodriguez Originally written on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way of knowing what to expect. After another Saturday with reruns, the Turtles return with a new episode that continues where ‘The Pulverizer’ left off. I was lucky enough to catch it Friday during the ‘Total Turtle Takeover’, and got to enjoy the new episode along with Paige, my meatball sub and onion rings. Here are our thoughts. The episode starts off with the Turtles chasing The Kraang in their Patrol Buggies as they try to escape with the Power Cell. Of course the last episode ended with them pushing the Shell Raiser back home after the Kraang had already escaped with the Power Cell…. So I guess somehow they managed to grab their Patrol Buggies and chase the Kraang’s helicopter before it fully got away…. Must be one slow helicop

NickToons TMNT Episode 16 The Pulverizer

By Mark Rodriguez Originally written on Saturday, February 16, 2013. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way of knowing what to expect. This was sure a hell of an episode. Similar to Alien Agenda, this one ties together several plot threads and characters which makes it an awesome episode, despite the lame character in the title. Luckily the episode doesn't focus too much on The Pulverizer. The real stars of the show were the Shell Raiser and finally seeing the Xeverfish back in action. Let's begin. The episode opens with The Kraang being frustrated since they can't find the location of the Power Cell Leatherhead gave to the Turtles in an earlier episode. Without it they can't open the portal to their home dimension and begin their true plan. In the sewers, Donatello shows the Turtles that he has rigged up the subway

Nicktoons TMNT Episode 15 The Alien Agenda

By Mark Rodriguez Originally written on Saturday, February 9, 2013. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way of knowing what to expect. This episode was long advertised about being about a teacher voiced by Cassandra Peterson AKA Elvira Mistress of the Dark who is after April and her mysterious gift. However, this actually turned out to be a direct follow-up to the previous episode and ties all previous plots together. The episode opens up with Karai leading the Foot across the rooftops in search of the Turtles. However when she finds them she sees them fighting against The Kraang, which peaks her interest. Leo realizes Karai is watching and starts showing off, taking down all the alien robots by himself. After the fight is over, Raph questions Leo about Karai and why he isn't telling the others about her. Back to Shredder's

NickToons TMNT Episode 14- New Girl in Town

By Mark Rodriguez Originally written on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way of knowing what to expect. There is a lot to say about this episode. We've seen Leo and Raph fight and argue before. Most of the times it's because Raph wants to do his own thing and not take orders from Leo, or is sick of having Leo as the leader. But we have never seen Leo say 'you know what? YOU be the leader!' and then have Raph actually try to lead the team. Oh, and this episode introduces Karai. Oh, and this episode also has Snakeweed coming back. This is gonna be a busy episode so let's get started. 'New Girl in Town' starts with the Turtles chasing Snakeweed down the streets. Snakeweed is kidnapping people and Leo suggests that he is too strong to stop on the ground and they should go to the

NickToons TMNT Episode 13- I, Monster

By Mark Rodriguez Originally written on Sunday, January 25, 2013. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way or knowing what to expect. It's been a while since we've seen new episodes of the Turtles, and what a way to bring them back. Not only do we get a 2 hour marathon on a Friday, we got an episode with the Rat King, possibly one of everybody's favorite TMNT villain character besides anyone related to Shredder and the Foot.. After seeing some clips and hearing his voice, I already had a suspicion of who he could be in this version, and wow, I was proven right in the very first scene. Anyways let's check it out. This episode starts off with Dr. Falco from the 'Monkey Brains' episode, in some rat infested hideout working on experiments involving mutagen and rat DNA.  Some of the rats chew on the already-faulty

NickToons TMNT Episode 12- It Came From The Depths

By Mark Rodriguez Originally written on Sunday, December 16, 2012. Keep in mind, these were our thoughts as they were back in 2012 when the show was new and was written shortly after seeing the episodes after their initial broadcast. At the time we had zero way or knowing what to expect. This was quite an interesting episode, and although it was simple and straight-forward it was full of all sorts of character moments. And hey, it had Leatherhead!!! Let's check it out. "It Came from the Depths" starts with The Kraang attacking and trying to capture a mutant gator. However, the large reptile manages to get away. Elsewhere in the sewers, the Turtles are chillin' as Mike brings out a pizza milkshake... which makes everyone sick. Yeah... I'm not going into detail with that scene, I just ate. Anyways, Leo is watching another ep of Space Heroes, which makes a funny parody of the classic Star Trek episode 'The Trouble with Tribbles'. Raph changes the channel and
