Batman/TMNT # 6

By Mark Rodriguez The Shredder has teamed up with Rah's Al Ghul and they use Mutagen on all the Arkham inmates to burn Gotham City to the ground. Leo's body goes into shock as the Mutagen in his body is starting to become inert since Mutagen doesn't exist in the DCU. The same fate will soon fall upon the rest of the Turtles and Splinter, so they leave the fight to Batman and Robin. But... will the Turtles really sit out the last issue of the crossover? Let's find out. The issue opens with Batman and Robin being manhandled by Bane, now a mutant elephant, though in his case he looks more like a mammoth. Batman hits him with electric Batarangs in the face, which makes Bane let them go. Robin kicks a mutant hyena Harley before she could bash Batman with her infamous mallet. Poison Ivy, now a mutant mantis send her plants against Batman saying that she'll make them pay for what was done to her. Mr. Freeze, a mutant polar bear only want to kill Batman a...

Batman/TMNT # 5

By Mark Rodriguez After Batman tells Raph his backstory that shows that he isn't just some rich guy running around in a costume for thrills, the Turtles and Batman are all on the same page. The Turtles and Splinter need to return to their own world ASAP before they de-mutate back into normal animals since mutagen doesn't exist in the DC Universe. Shredder and Rah's Al Ghul have teamed up and destroyed the portal machine. Casey Jones comes with more mutagen for the Turtles, but he gets hijacked by the bad guys. Now Shredder and Rah's Al Ghul head towards Arkham, ready to use the mutagen on the inmates. Now what will happen? Gordon is at his limit with everything that is going on, and Batman arrives with the Leo and Raph. Seeing giant talking turtles makes Gordon wish for retirement, but he tells them that the Foot have taken over Arkham. Penguin steps in and explains that the Shredder wants to build an army that will burn Gotham to the ground. Shredder...

Batman/TMNT # 4

By Mark Rodriguez The Turtles and Shredder are stuck in Gotham City thanks to Krang warping them out of his reality. Unfortunately for the Turtles, Mutagen doesn't exist in the DCU and if they stay in it too long, they will eventually turn back into normal turtles. Shredder teamed with the Penguin to originally build the machine to send the Foot back home and strand the Turtles in Gotham forever, but when the Heroes in the Half Shell allied themselves with Batman, the Shredder was willing to blow it up and kill the only scientist that could rebuild it, just so that the Turtles and Splinter would meet their eventual demise. Losing his men, Shredder escapes but he's discovered that Rah's Al Ghul had taken over his helicopter and has found interest in him. In Arkham (why Arkham and not normal jail?) the Foot Clan members are being questioned but none of them will talk. Joker overhears what's going on from his cell and is curious what's going on in th...

Batman/TMNT # 3

By Mark Rodriguez The Turtles and the Shredder are stuck in Gotham City, and the Foot Clan is stealing the needed equipment to find a way back home, hoping to leave the Turtles behind. The Turtles run into Batman, who thinks they're involved in the robberies, and after a brief fight ends up with one of Raph's sais. After examining the sai, Luscious Fox tells Bruce Wayne that it's from another world, and the steel from that world is adapting into the steel of this world. However, he found strains of a mutagen in the blood on the sai that doesn't exist in this world so it will soon become inert. This means if the Turtles and Splinter don't find a way home soon they'll eventually turn back into regular pets. Needing help, Splinter leads the Turtles to the Batcave.... The Shredder is with the Penguin at the Iceberg Lounge, and Cobblepot has his technicians have the portal machine ready to go back home. Shredder decides he wants to rule both his Ne...

Batman/TMNT # 2

By Mark Rodriguez The Turtles and the Foot are somehow trapped in Gotham City, and the Foot are trying to steal the equipment needed to find a way back. This brings the attention of Batman, who takes on the Foot and runs into the Shredder. The Turtles themselves have a brief run-in with Killer Croc and then go topside and find the Batmobile. As Don marvels over it, Mikey points out that the owner of the vehicle has just spotted them. What will happen when the Heroes in the Half Shell meet the Dark Knight? The comic starts randomly with Mikey running into a pizzeria yelling that a guy dressed like a bat is trying to kill them. The people scream at the sight of the giant turtle, and Mikey tries to help himself to some pizza before Batman yanks him back into the battle with some rope. Leo says that Batman is fighting on a whole other level and they need to work together to overwhelm him. Batman says they're welcome to try. Batman dodges the turtles attacks and Don ...

Batman/TMNT # 1

By Mark Rodriguez The Turtles have had a few crossovers in their day, like Usagi Yojimbo and the Power Rangers, but mostly they seemed to have been crossing over with other versions of themselves. Now they stepped up to the big leagues as they meet up with The Dark Knight himself. Now that there is an animated movie based on this crossover event coming soon (which may or may not be based on this comic plot), let's take a look at the comic that inspired it. The story opens with scientists trapped in their lab, surrounded by Foot Ninja. They were working on a power generator that would be a clean energy source for years to come, but now they fear that they won't live to see it. The security guards bust in, but before they can fight, everything goes black and the scientist could only see glimpses of the Turtles come in and fight the Foot. When the lights are back on, the power generator was missing and the Turtles were staring her down, now giving them a clearer look...

Here's live action Sonic!!

By Mark Rodriguez So yes, we finally get a potential look at 'leaked images' of how the Live Action Sonic will look in his upcoming movie produced by Paramount. Playing opposite Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik, this CGI Sonic bears some difference in design, presumably to 'make more sense' in the 'real world'. Besides the overly detailed fur-quils, the two main things to note are Sonic's eyes and his gloves. It appears they are using clever fur patterns to stick as close to the game design as possible. Sonic's eyes are now nornal seperate eyes with a subtle white patch of fur between them to make them look like Sonic's bizzare double eye thing from the games. The other detail are Sonic's gloves or rather, the lack of them. This time it looks like his hands are covered in white fur to give the look of white gloves. Missing however, are the overly muscular human proportioned legs shown in the teaser picture. With parts of the m...

Dead or Alive 6- Fun but with some expensive snags

By Mark Rodriguez I don't think I can give a full review since I haven't used all the characters and finished the Story Mode yet, but here are my general thoughts. Having checked out the free demo, and the deluxe demo that let you use most of the characters, I had pre-ordered my copy and have been enjoying the game so far. First off, despite all the rumors of Team Ninja toning down the lovely ladies and their jiggle physics and all that...  Dead or Alive 6 is still as provocative as the earlier releases of the series. While the women do have cool, though tamer than usual default costumes, they still have the usual skimpier outfits as unlockables or DLC. To be honest, I never considered Kasumi's cool new ninja outfit as 'censorship' or a sign of things being toned down. I already knew she'd be getting tons of costumes anyway. The gameplay is fast and furious and full of insane combos. People that have played the earlier titles are already used to the pun...
