Dragonball Super manga Volume 5 (Chapter 25)

 By Mark Rodriguez

We are at the final battle against the fused God Zamas! Goku and Vegeta fused into Vegetto to counter this new threat, but due to how much power they used, the Fusion wore off before they could finish the job. After discovering that Trunks has healing powers since he was the apprentice of the Kaioshin of his timeline, Goku was fully healed and ready to fight. Goku managed to contain the Super Saiyan Blue power within him so he can fight at 100% for much longer. While it looked like he had the upper hand against Zamas, keeping the Super Saiyan Blue powers trapped within him is wrecking Goku's body from the inside, and it's started to take it's toll....

Chapter 25- Will it be Goku?! Or Zamas?!

The chapter opens with Goku and Zamas locked in combat. Zamas notices that his arm is horribly mangled and shoves Goku flying back with his energy. Goku sees that he'd headed towards a building and teleports. Zamas is in the middle of regenerating his arm when Goku appears alongside him and sends him flying back. Zamas stops himself in mid-air and throws his arms downward. Goku falls flat to the ground due to Zamas' telekinesis.

Pinned to the ground, Goku is able to raise his hand just enough to fire off an energy blast that hits Zamas and causes an explosion. Zamas now has a bloody shoulder. Trunks says that Goku isn't pulling his punches. Goku flies right in with a punch that Zamas barely catches in time. Zamas goes for a kick that Goku blocks with his other arm. Both of them exchange blows and Zamas is sent flying back in the aftermath.

Beaten, bloody, and breathing heavily, Zamas says that he is immortal as Goku is down on the ground. He rips off the top of his outfit and says he won't take any damage. Zamas starts to heal up his wounds as Goku appears behind him and smacks him to the ground. Goku says he won't give him time to recover. Small flares of Goku's aura start to escape his body and he says he won't be able to fight like this much longer either.

Trunks notes that Goku doesn't look good. Vegeta says he's nearing his limit and he will soon lose the ability to contain the Super Saiyan Blue form within him. Zamas struggles to get back to his feet and Goku realizes he'll have to take his chances. He says even if Zamas is immortal the next technique might take him out. Trunks notes that Goku has circled one of his fists with a blue aura. Vegeta says he's planning on releasing his energy on the next attack. There won't be a next time after this one.

Zamas is enraged and says he doesn't need the cosmos or the Earth anymore, and he will destroy the entire galaxy. Zama starts to power up violently, unleashing amazing power. Trunks is surprised he has this much power left. Vegeta says he's similar to Goku's situation, he's flown in such a rage that he hasn't considered the burden he's placing on his injured body. If Zamas doesn't focus on healing his body first, even if he's immortal, his body will still suffer the consequences.

Goku and Zamas lunge towards each other, both of them exploding with power. Just as Zamas swings his fist at Goku with everything, he warps out of the way. Goku holds his palm over Zamas and apologizes to Lord Beerus for giving it a bad name. Goku then uses Hakai on Zamas.

Half of Zamas starts to vaporize away as Vegeta and Trunks are surprised to see Goku use Lord Beerus' technique. Zamas creates a portal and reaches into it, grabbing Mai by the throat and pulling her in the way. Goku is caught off guard by this and Zamas kicks him in the stomach, knocking him to the ground.

Zamas regenerates his missing half and then restores his outfit. He feels ashamed he had to win this way but says he now knows never to mess with mortals. He drops Mai to the ground and prepares to kill her. Trunks calls out to Zamas and flies at him with his sword. Zamas knocks him back just using a glare. He's tried of this planet and will now destroy it. Just then God Zamas starts to defuse, but both Zamas and Black are still partly stuck together as their bodies horribly try to rip themselves apart from each other. Kaioshin says it's been the hour by now, but they're splitting up differently than when Vegetto defuses. Gowas says that they're rejecting the split and even though they were fused, they're still both Zamas. During the last hour they've bonded to a molecular level.

God Zamas is able to pull both halves of himself together and says is the only god is enough. Suddenly, Zamas is sliced in half. Trunks has snuck up behind him and cut the fusion in half with his sword. Both Zamas and Goku Black fall to the ground, now both of them regaining their full bodies. Trunks raises his sword and drives it through Goku Black. Trunks says it's over. Goku is glad to see that Trunks finished off Goku Black and tells him that he saved the Earth.

Trunks looks over to see if Mai alright and Black suddenly reaches up and blasts him from behind. Black gets up and pulls the sword out of himself and breaks it in half in his hand. Goku says that he's not supposed to be immortal. Goku Black reforms himself and looks like God Zamas. Zamas appears behind Goku and also changes to look like his fused form. Vegeta says there are now two fused Zamases, as they start to kick Goku around.

The two Zamases laugh as Goku notices that they're both as strong. Kaioshin says that now that there are two God Zamases, things couldn't possibly get worse. Vegeta sees how they're attacking Goku, and also looks at the unconscious Mai and Trunks. Vegeta loses it and powers up.

One of the Zamases is holding Goku by the throat and Vegeta flies in to kick him out of his hand. Vegeta charges up a huge energy blast with his hands and holds his arms apart with his palms facing each other. He fires off the Gamma Burst Flash that washes over both of the fused gods. When the smoke cleared, both of the gods have been dismembered.

Trunks yells at his father for having used such a technique in his current state. Zamas' body parts start to reconstruct themselves and Goku says it's not use since Zamas will always heal himself up. Gowas appears near Trunks and Mai and Kaioshin appears in front of Goku and Vegeta. Kaioshin extends his hand to them and says now is their chance to run away. Goku says they can't run away and leave Zamas like this.

Suddenly the heroes realize that every piece of Zamas' body has regenerated to form a whole new Zamas. Goku and the rest are shocked to see that now that have several more God Zamases to deal with!!

There is an extra gag page of one of the multiple Zamas telling the other that they got the wrong face, since that one looks like like Monaka instead of Goku.

My thoughts-

This story has taken a lot of twists and turns as Zamas keeps pulling out more and more new tricks to keep the fight going. One of the biggest twists, other than Trunks having healing powers, as Goku having learned how to use the Hakai technique from Lord Beerus! I was completely caught off guard by Zamas grab Mai and using her as a human shield, since nothing like that ever happened in the anime.

Then we have the sudden body horror of the fused Zamas and Black literally being torn apart, instead of the magical 'poof' type of way Vegetto, Gogeta and Gotenks usually unfused. It's most likely different since both people in this case are alternate timeline versions of the same person, though I wonder if that makes sense. Yes, Goku Black is Zamas, but he's still using Goku's body. It should be no different than if Zamas chose to fuse with the real Goku. Maybe the Potara also fuses souls together or something within how it works can detect they are the same person regardless of appearance.

It was cool to see Trunks cut them in half and get what looked like the final blow in a way that makes sense for him, given the vast different in power. Then seeing Trunks just drive his sword through Goku Black was hardcore. But then Zamas decided to become Majin Buu for some reason.

So the heroes are now completely tapped out of their power reserves, there aren't any more senzus, and now there are multiple Zamases. Plus if they dismember any of them, they will end up creating yet another God Zamas, as if he were a genocidal starfish. At this point, it's about time for this story to end as there isn't any more ways the heroes can escape the current situation.

We'll see how this ends as the next chapter concludes this arc. In the anime even after Trunks sliced the fused Zamas in half, he somehow.... became the sky? The sky was just littered with Zamas faces everywhere and Trunks' timeline was pretty much screwed. Zamas being able to turn into multiples of himself as if he were Majin Buu isn't that bad, but it's getting close. Let's see if this ends on a higher note than that of the anime.

Dragonball- It's time to go beyond Z or end it

By Mark Rodriguez So while the Dragonball Super anime has ended for a few years now, and the Dragonball Super Broly movie is over a year old as well, the Dragonball Super manga has actually continued past the Tournament of Power and  Super Broly movie. As this new arc, nicknamed the Moro Arc after its main villain is coming to a close, the question is where do they do from here? Also before you get into this article, I really hope you know your DBZ because there are just waaaaaay too many characters to take the time out to explain who everyone is one by one. Dragonball and Dragonball Z is one of the longest running anime and manga series since the 80's and while it seemed it was put to pasture after Dragonball GT ended in 1997, the only thing left was for the American dubs to catch up. Despite this the love and nostalgia for the series lived on with videogames and the occasional special here and there that would bring back the characters (like the Yo, Son Goku and his Friends Retu

Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

By Mark Rodriguez Here's another awesome comic from independent artists that opened up an Indiegogo to get it started. I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna! Also note, while I'll try to keep my language as tame as I can, this book deals with way more adult stuff than I usually discuss on this blog. The Adventure Begins The issue opens with Jennie lying in bed naked in her apartment, a noticeable pile of sketches lying on the floor. She awakens to a voi

Five Nights at Freddy's- How FNAF 2 Complicated the Lore

By Mark Rodriguez Five Nights at Freddy's.... a game series that started out by being a security guard trying to survive 5 nights at a pizzeria full of haunted animatronics that spawned lots of sequels. Now the latest one is looking like it's going to be about some of the animatronics actually trying to keep you safe from a serial killer that might have been brainwashed by a possessed VR game. What the hell? FNAF.... how it started and where it's going......  Here's a quick trip down memory lane over just how simple the story of FNAF seemed to be in the first game, and how the second game started the long path of the huge mess that we have now. Now when the first game came out back in 2014, creator Scott Cawthon had no way of knowing it would be a smash hit with lots of sequels. In fact, it was a bit of a last desperate attempt to make it in the gaming business. It's hard to believe nowadays, but had FNAF failed, Scott would have given up working on video games and
