TMNT New Animated Adventures #4

Written originally by Paige with thoughts from Mark Rodriguez This issue finally brings the Foot into the scene as we get to see Shredder and his men. Let's take a look. This comic begins with the turtles training their defensive skills, Mikey with Donnie and Leo against Raph. Raph is playing his version of "King of the Hill" up on a structure and out of reach..  Leo, thinking Raph is defending the structure, is caught off guard by him. He tells Leo the best defense is offense. They begin to fight, but the tides turn...Leo gets the advantage and gets his brother onto the ground. The two were stopped by Splinter, who tells Leo it wasn't reasonable to insult his brother. (I guess?!) He continues to explain that Raph is naturally aggressive and it compliments the others' cautious approach. Splinter tells them the real reason why he interrupted their training. It's April and she has information for the four turtles. April tells the turtles that she has p

TMNT New Animated Adventures #3

Originally written by Paige with thoughts from Mark Rodriguez After dealing with Purple Dragons, Snakeweed and... some regular military soldiers, this time the Turtles face one of the main villains, The Kraang. Let's take a look. Zombies! They're attacking! Okay, not really. The turtles are watching a zombie movie marathon, only because Mikey dragged them into it. Like usual Raph-style, he complains about watching the movies. Leo and Donnie agree and all three head off to go to bed leaving Mikey behind. Before Leo does leave, he tells Mikey about his imagination when he watches scary movies. He brushes this aside and continues to watch. Eventually Mikey goes to bed, but he can't sleep. He decides to wake up Raph and ask him to go skateboarding. The reader finally gets to see Raph's room and Spike the pet turtle. Well, Raph is angry for being woken up at 2 am. Mikey still goes out skating, but as he skates he runs into ZOMBIES! It's really happening, zombie

The Magdalena # 1

By Mark Rodriguez This was one of the comics advertised in the Tomb Raider comic which made me curious. I was lucky enough to find this issue (and 2 and 3) in a basement comic sale this past weekend for only 2 bucks rather than the higher costs online (not to mention the shipping costs). I'm glad I waited before buying it online. This series must have been popular seeing as how the long boxes had its own Magdalena section. So let's check this out and see what this is all about.  'Blood Divine Part 1' opens in a church on a Paris night as a priest is up praying for the strength to stand against the wickedness that demons have sent after him. He hears something and thinks it's someone named Colette. It's some sort of growling creature that leaps out and chases the priest. As he runs from the dark figure, he crashes into an altar adorned with candles, the hot wax and flames falling over his face.  The holy man prays for his life as the creature smacks his head bac

NWA Powerrr S8 Episode 8 (women's matches) May 21 2022

By Mark Rodriguez We got a couple of awesome matches as Hardcore Country Mickie James is back in action and we see the tag team champs Allysin Kay and Marti Belle defending their titles in a last minute decision. Match 1- The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Bell) VS Kenzie Paige and Madi The match begins with Kenzie and Allysin, with the challenger grabbing the champ in a waist lock. Allysin quickly reverses this into her own waist lock and slams her down. As they get up both women fight over who gets control of the other's arm for an almost comedic long time until Kenzie finally grabs the champ in a headlock. Allysin tosses Kenzie over her shoulder though. Both women try different variations of roll up pins on each other but can't get the win. They face off and Kenzie walks over to tag in Madi. Madi chews out Kenzie for how she handled Allysin.  Madi leaps at Allysin but is caught by her. Madi yells out for Kenzie but Allysin drops her face onto the turnbuckle and tags Marti in. B

TMNT New Animated Adventures #2

Originally written by Paige with thoughts from Mark Rodriguez The second issue is here and this time the Turtles face off against Snakeweed. This will be his third appearance since the Turtles premiere episode and his return in the episode that introduced Karai. It was cool to see him again, though Paige is waiting for the bigger villains to appear. It's starts off with the turtles and April being dragged into watching Leo's favorite TV show "Space Heroes"...but it's not just one episode, it's a long marathon. Leo even says at hour five that Raph will start liking the show. But as they watch, the TV cuts out (oh no!) and Leo sends Donnie to fix the satellite dish. Donnie explains that a storm is coming and it will interfere. Leo gets frustrated at nature. Nature is the lesson here. Enter Splinter to commence the inspiring speech. Splinter explains that nature shouldn't be "conquered", but viewed as peaceful, just like the big tree in the

TMNT New Animated Adventures #1

Originally written by Paige with Thoughts from Mark After the Free Comic Book Day issue, it was cool to see that an actual series would be made based on the 2012 show. The story by Kenny Byerly and art by Dario Brizuela. Number one has all the turtles and April on the cover, and along with this standard cover, there are four alternative covers shown on the back of the front cover. Let's get started! The comic starts out with April and her latest training, the stealth of a ninja, making her way around the lair, high up hidden in the shadows. Eventually she gets caught by one of the turtles, Mikey to be more precise. As usual Raph is mad that he didn't catch April and that Mikey had to be the one to tag her first. Splinter praises April's hard work for successfully making it across the lair without being detected. While hanging with Donnie, April explains that she's tired of training and wants to attempt to  find her father. She continues to ask when could she help with

TMNT New Animated Adventures # 0 Free Comic Book Day 2013

Originally written by Paige with Thoughts from Mark Several years after the show ended, lots of Ninja Turtles fans still fondly remember the 2012 series. While at first people had doubts about the cartoon being CGI rather than traditional animation and the Turtles looking younger than we're used to,  a lot of the fanbase will love the show. IDW also brought out a comic based on the show. While the show never referenced the comic, the comic tried its best to not contradict the show and made many references to where the show was going at the time (it's status quo was ever-changing). Here are our thoughts of the comic series from back in 2013 when they first came out. The comic opens up to Mikey showing off a jump and the other turtles not impressed by the display. As Raph and Don just brush it aside, Splinter enters the picture complimenting Mikey. Raph continues to say that they're not impressed because he believes they are "experts". Don attempts to stop him,

NWA Powerrr Season 8 Episodes 6 and 7 (Women's Matches)

By Mark Rodriguez Let's check out some of these NWA Women's Matches. It looks like some familiar faces are hopping into the ring in these 2 episodes, namely Kilynn King and Mickie James. Let's check it out. Kenzie Paige VS Mickie James- S8 Ep 6- May 3, 2022 The Main Event of Episode 6 begins with both women locking up until Mickie James gets Kenzie in an arm lock. Kenzie rolls across the mat and reverses it, now getting control of Mickie's arm. Mickie fights through it and does a reversal, getting Kenzie in a chickenwing hold. Kenzie grabs Mickie and tosses her over her shoulder, but she is still not letting go of the hold. Still holding her arm behind her back, Mickie slams her knees into Kenzie. Mickie grabs Kenzie's other arm and goes for a pin, but her opponent kicks out. Mickie grabs her in a headlock take down, but Kenzie reverses it into a pin. Hardcore Country Mickie James kicks out of it. Mickie keeps Kenzie in the headlock as both women get up. Kenzie fin
