Top 5 movies we'd like to get a theatrical re-release

While I'm sure there have been several theatrical re-releases throughout history, for me the most modern example of this was when they played the classic Ghostbusters and Star Wars movies when the pandemic was easing up a bit. Recently we had several retro movies coming back to theaters for a limited time, such as the 90's TMNT movie, 1989 Batman, Batman Returns, Casper and the Toby McGuire Spider-Man trilogy. Here's a few movies that I wish would get a theatrical re-release that so far haven't. These are in no particular order.

1. Terminator 1 and/or 2

I'm not sure if people would want the original or skip straight to the sequel, but definitely re-release T2. That movie was definitely the summer movie of 1991, the literal definition of 'if you can only afford to see one movie this summer, make sure it's this one!'. One of the biggest movies in Arnold Swartzanegger and Robert Patrick's careers, the killer cyborg from the future returns but this time reprogrammed to save John Connor's life from an even deadlier cyborg made of liquid metal. So many years later and those liquid metal effects still hold up today. They could have re-released it around the time that the T-1000 was released as a DLC character for MK1. Say what you will about the game, the T-1000 in the game gave everyone feelings of nostalgia for the movie.

2. RoboCop

Here's another classic blockbuster that I never got see in theaters. Officer Alex Murphy gets gunned down in the crime-ridden city of Old Detroit and gets brought back to life as the cyborg RoboCop. RoboCop struggles between trying to recall his old life, going after the men that killed him and dealing with the company that built him, OCP, treating him more as a product than a person. It was full of violence and over-the-top violence, and despite it's R rating, I didn't know a kid in a class that hasn't seen it. I'd love to get the chance to see this at the movies. I still find it funny every time I remember the guy that played Clarence (Kurtwood Smith) is the same guy that played Red Forman on that 70's Show.

3. The Crow

 

Released in 1994, this is one I actually got see in the theaters and wouldn't mind seeing again. Eric Draven gets murdered alongside his fiance, but returns to life a year later thanks to a supernatural crow to get revenge. Able to come back from any injury, The Crow goes around killing all the gang members one by one while also trying to piece together his past. It was just a fun movie and The Crow was a different kind of 'superhero' character. There have been sequels and even a remake, but nothing comes close to this one. Sadly it was Brandon Lee's final performance after a tragic accident during filming. 

2. The Goonies

 

A classic movie with a huge nostalgia-loving fanbase. Released in 1985, the Goonies are a group of friends that try to locate the treasure of 'One-Eyed Willy' as a last chance to save their homes from foreclosure.  After several years of trying to get a sequel out, it seems that finally in February 2025 a sequel has been in the works. Maybe release the movie on its anniversary or some time before the sequel is out. I have to admit that I haven't seen the movie yet, but Wendy is a big fan and I assume we'll be watching it together soon.

1. Rocky (the series or just the first one)

 

This is another classic, though there are so many movies in the original series (even if you don't count Rocky Balboa and the Creed movies) that I'm not sure if we should stick to the very first movie, or maybe play one through five over the course of a week. They played the McGuire Spider-Man trilogy one movie a day from Friday to Sunday.... so maybe do a Monday through Friday for Rocky. Released in 1976 and one of the movies that helped make Stallone a household name, the movie follows the story a small-time fighter from Philly that's given the once in a lifetime chance to fight against heavyweight boxing champ. When it came to Spider-Man, we made it a point to see part 2 (mostly since Spider-Man 2.1 had extra scenes). With Rocky, I'd definitely want to see the third one since I'd love to see Rocky VS Clubber Lang on the big screen.

And those were our picks. What are some of yours? Some honorable mentions are Goodfellas and the Shawshank Redemption. They already announced TMNT II The Secret of the Ooze sometime next year, so let's see what other classics will return to the silver screen one more time.

The final match was between the Nightmare Sisters, Brandi Rhodes and Allie against the team of Ivelisse and Diamante, and it was shown Saturday, rather than Wednesday due to the NBA Play-Offs. The Match- The Nightmare Sisters (with Dustin & QT Marshall) VS Diamante & Ivelisse Due to the time constraints, the NBA game finished a half hour later than expected and the TNT Championship match was following this, so there wasn't time for a lot of shenanigans. Things started between Ivelisse and Brandi who started off with an exchange of armlocks and headlocks. Ivelisse tags Diamante in and after both ladies kicked her down and picked her up for a double slam. Brandi managed to tag Allie in who would quickly kick Diamante down. SNK VS Capcom Chaos Volume 1

By Mark Rodriguez We'll be seeing a few crossovers this month, and we're gonna start with one based on a crossover videogame. If you think the Malibu SF comic series was kinda sloppy, this one was literally all action, pin ups and splash pages, and what little story in it is just plain weird. I'm talking about the SNK VS Capcom Chaos comics made by Happy Comics, translated by Japan and produced with supervision from both SNK Playmore and Capcom. But first a brief explanation on the game this was inspired from. In 2000, Capcom produced Capcom VS SNK Millenium Fight 2000 which would throw the fighters of Capcom and SNK at each other. Unfortunately, aside from Morrigan from Darkstalkers and Nakoruru from Samurai Shodown, the game felt more like Street Fighter VS King of Fighters. Capcom later made Capcom VS SNK 2 Mark of the Millenium with even more characters and variety as well as different modes of play. Arachna# 1 Review *Spoilers*

I usually don't chip in unless it looks real good, like you just know they're gonna hit their goal. Arachna, a sexy superheroine with a split personality and an amazing art syle, sure looked like a good pick for me.  With lots of clever marketing in advance, even getting a person to dress as Arachna herself to bring the character to life, they hit their goal the same day they actually opened the Indiegogo for donations. I chipped in for the comic and the shirt, and here is my review on the latest superheroine that's bringing sexy back to comics, Arachna!
